In this paper, we proposed a method using sub-edge information extracted through a hierarchical structure in the process of generating super resolution based on a single image. In order to improve the quality of super resolution, it is necessary to clearly distinguish the shape of each area while clearly expressing the boundary area in the image. The proposed method assists edge information of the image in deep learning based super resolution method to create an improved super resolution result while maintaining the structural shape of the boundary region, which is an important factor determining the quality in the super resolution process. In addition to the group convolution structure for performing deep learning based super resolution, a separate hierarchical edge accumulation extraction process based on high-frequency band information for sub-edge extraction is proposed, and a method of using it as an auxiliary feature is proposed. Experimental results showed about 1% performance improvement in PSNR and SSIM compared to the existing super resolution.

Image fusion techniques are widely used to integrate a lower spatial resolution multispectral image with a higher spatial resolution panchromatic image. However, the existing techniques either cannot avoid distorting the image spectral properties or involve complicated and time-consuming decomposition and reconstruction processing in the case of wavelet transform-based fusion. In this study a simple spectral preserve fusion technique: the Smoothing Filter-based Replacement(SFR) is proposed based on a simplified solar radiation and land surface reflection model. By using a ratio between a higher resolution image and its low pass filtered (with a smoothing filter) image, spatial details can be injected to a co-registered lower resolution multispectral image minimizing its spectral properties and contrast. The technique can be applied to improve spatial resolution for either colour composites or individual bands. The fidelity to spectral property and the spatial quality of SFM are convincingly demonstrated by an image fusion experiment using IKONOS panchromatic and multispectral images. The visual evaluation and statistical analysis compared with other image fusion techniques confirmed that SFR is a better fusion technique for preserving spectral information.
Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) hyperspectral imagery was acquired over the Little Miami River Watershed (1756 square miles) in Ohio, U.S.A., which is one of the largest hyperspectral image acquisition. For the development of a 4m-resolution land cover dataset, a hierarchical approach was employed using two different classification algorithms: 'Image Object Segmentation' for level-1 and 'Spectral Angle Mapper' for level-2. This classification scheme was developed to overcome the spectral inseparability of urban and rural features and to deal with radiometric distortions due to cross-track illumination. The land cover class members were lentic, lotic, forest, corn, soybean, wheat, dry herbaceous, grass, urban barren, rural barren, urban/built, and unclassified. The final phase of processing was completed after an extensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) phase. With respect to the eleven land cover class members, the overall accuracy with a total of 902 reference points was 83.9% at 4m resolution. The dataset is available for public research, and applications of this product will represent an improvement over more commonly utilized data of coarser spatial resolution such as National Land Cover Data (NLCD).
Magnetic resonance velocimeter (MRV) is a powerful tool to non-invasively measure the velocity of a fluid flow in various fields ranging from medicine to engineering. However, since the demands for accurate measurement in the solid/liquid interface for cardiovascular diseases and porous media increase, the improvement of spatial resolution is required. In this study, a solenoid RF coil is developed for high spatial resolution measurement. The signal-to-noise ratio in solenoid RF coil is increased seventeen times better than that in commercial coil. Moreover, the velocity distribution of Hagen-Poiseuille flow is measured with in-plane resolution of $36{\mu}m$ by $36{\mu}m$ and the accuracy of the measured velocity is compared with theoretical distribution of the laminar flow. Flow rate calculated by MRV is estimated with the flow rate injected by syringe pump.

Optical coherence tomography system has been extensively studied because it has some advantages such as imaging of high resolution, low cost, and compact size configuration. In order to obtain high resolution of OCT system we configured OCT system using a femto-second laser. We measure the pulse width using autocorrelator function because a femto-second laser is ultra short pulse. And we measured the practical resolution using theoretical equation and the measurement of reference sample. It is confirmed that the proposed OCT system has 1.5 times higher resolution and un distinctive cross-sectional image than OCT system with SLD as a light source.
In this study, we describe the improvement of the resolution of a paper-based sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part using a low-temperature drying method to detect proline with high resolution. In the conventional paper-based sensor for detecting proline, the ninhydrin part is fabricated at room temperature, and in this process, the ninhydrin solution spreads around the ninhydrin part. Therefore, the concentration of the ninhydrin part becomes lower than that of the applied solution, lowering the resolution of the sensor. The proposed paper-based sensor better improved the sensitivity of the sensor compared to the existing sensor by fabricating a high-concentration ninhydrin part through drying the ninhydrin solution using a low-temperature drying method. Owing to the experiment, the intensity of the green color of the paper-based sensor with the integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at 10 ℃ is approximately 20% lower than the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at room temperature, indicating better sensor resolution. Therefore, the paper-based sensor with an integrated ninhydrin part fabricated at a high concentration could be useful for diagnosing drought.
Purpose: Dysphagia, vomiting and feeding difficulties are common symptoms, with which children present. Esophageal function testing with high resolution manometry can help in diagnosing and treating these patients. We aim to access the clinical utility of high-resolution manometry of esophagus in symptomatic pediatric patients. Methods: A retrospective chart review was done on all symptomatic patients who underwent esophageal high-resolution manometry between 2010 and 2019 at Sydney Children's Hospital, Australia. Manometry results were categorized based on Chicago classification. Demographic data, indication of procedure, manometric findings, and details of treatment changes were obtained and analyzed. Results: There were 62 patients with median age of 10 years (9 months-18 years). The main indication for the procedure was dysphagia (56%). Thirty-two percent of patients had a co-morbid condition, with esophageal atresia accounting for 16%. The majority (77%) of patients had abnormal manometry which included, ineffective esophageal motility in 45.2%. In esophageal atresia cohort, esophageal pressurization was seen in 50%, aperistalsis in 40% and 10% with prior fundoplication had esophago-gastric junction obstruction. Patients with esophago-gastric junction obstruction or achalasia were treated by either pneumatic dilation or Heller's myotomy. Patients with ineffective esophageal motility and rumination were treated with a trial of prokinetics/dietary texture modification and diaphragmatic breathing. Conclusion: Esophageal high-resolution manometry has a role in the evaluation of symptomatic pediatric patients. The majority of our patients had abnormal results which led to change in treatments, with either medication, surgery and/or feeding modification with resultant improvement in symptoms.
The purpose of this study is to develop and evaulate improvement of marital relationship for immigrant women's husbands. They who play important role have much more resources than wifes in Korean society and establish a happier home through trying to adapt marital relationship. It needs to escape focusing on only immigrant education and program and have to extend to immigrants' family members including husband. The program procedure was implemented for 14 immigrant women's husbands every Friday for 2 hours from Feb, 2007 to Mar, 2007. To evaluating effects of program the pre test and post test was analyzed. The program was operated by researcher, center worker and volunteer who have much practiticing experiences about immigrants. The program of sessions is perception of intermarriage, understanding of wife's country culture, open communication, conflict resolution and child rearing attitude. As the results of the analysis, there were significant differences of the increases in the area of perception of intermarriage, open communication and child rearing attitude. Finally, this study suggests that understanding of wife's country culture and conflict resolution of the program be modified by future social work practitioners and researchers in order to make the program more effective.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID) presented in a tertiary medical center, characteristics of patients and results of the diagnostic work-up together with an outcome during the follow up. Methods: This was a retrospective, single center, observational study including all patients who were diagnosed with FGID based on Rome III criteria from January to December 2015 in tertiary medical center. Results: Overall 294 children were included (mean age, 8.9 years [range, 1-18 years]; 165 females). Majority had functional constipation (35.4%), followed by functional abdominal pain (30.6%), irritable bowel syndrome (17.0%), functional dyspepsia (12.6%), functional nausea (3.4%) and abdominal migraine (1.0%). Regression model found that only significant factor associated with improvement of symptoms is the establishment of the functional diagnosis at the first visit (hazard ratio, 2.163; 95% confidence inverval, 1.029-4.544). There was no association between improvement of symptoms and presence of alarm signs/symptoms (weight loss, nocturnal symptoms and severe vomiting) at diagnosis. Furthermore, in pain symptoms (functional abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia) no treatment positively correlated with pain improvement. Conclusion: Regardless of the initial diagnosis of FGID, positive diagnosis at the first visit increases a chance for resolution of symptoms.
In this paper, we propose a method to analyze the loss region of the dictionary-based super resolution result learned for image quality improvement and to map the learning data according to the analyzed loss region. In the conventional learned dictionary-based method, a result different from the feature configuration of the input image may be generated according to the learning image, and an unintended artifact may occur. The proposed method estimate loss information of low resolution images by analyzing the reconstructed contents to reduce inconsistent feature composition and unintended artifacts in the example-based super resolution process. By mapping the training data according to the final interpolation feature map, which improves the noise and pixel imbalance of the estimated loss information using a Gaussian-based kernel, it generates super resolution with improved noise, artifacts, and staircase compared to the existing super resolution. For the evaluation, the results of the existing super resolution generation algorithms and the proposed method are compared with the high-definition image, which is 4% better in the PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and 3% in the SSIM (Structural SIMilarity Index).
