The circuit level implementation of nanoscale Insulated Shallow Extension Silicon On Nothing (ISE-SON) MOSFET has been investigated and compared with the other conventional devices i.e. Insulated Shallow Extension (ISE) and Silicon On Nothing (SON) using the ATLAS 3D device simulator. It can be observed that ISE-SON based inverter shows better performance in terms of Voltage Transfer Characteristics, noise margin, switching current, inverter gain and propagation delay. The reliability issues of the various devices in terms of supply voltage, temperature and channel length variation has also been studied in the present work. Logic circuits (such as NAND and NOR gate) and ring oscillator are also implemented using different architectures to illustrate the capabilities of ISE-SON architecture for high speed logic circuits as compared to other devices. Results also illustrates that ISE-SON is much more temperature resistant than SON and ISE MOSFET. Hence, ISE-SON enables more aggressive device scaling for low-voltage applications.

It has already been noted that some tree species, denoted as tolerant species, endure to behavior shadiness in growth than those species, denoted as intolerant species, since this fact of tolerance must be involved in silvicultural practice, the present author, with pinus rigida, pinus Thunbergii, and Buxus koreana, investigated the relation of degree of shadiness to soil moisture condition. Because tolerant and intolerant trees must be considered from the standpoint of their ability to use any of the factors that are likely to be at low concentration in the dense or open forest. The observed results may be summarized as follows : 1. The ability of tolerance of the species to shadiness is differently concluded by the base with which the analysis was made, i.c. Height, growth, diameter growth, T-R ratio or dry matter increase and so on. Regarding this point root collar increment or dry matter increase were considered more reasonable bases for discussing the tolerability. 2. When total length growth, including both stem and root, is taken as standard for the comparison of the ability of tolerance for each species, higher soil moisture condition and thicker shadeniss lessened the ability of pinus rigida, seedlings. Pinus Thunbergii, showed. However more moisture resistant than pinus rigida. Buxus koreana, seemed to have stronger ability of tolerance than any others. 3. When total dry matter content taken as standard, the results obtained are given in Fig, 3. In pinus rigida, the soil moisture supplemented the lack of light.
In this study, submerged arc cladded Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo-CuWNbV-C stainless steels containing various Cr contents between 11.2 wt.% and 16.7 wt.% were prepared with fixed C content at about 0.14 wt.%. Using these alloys, changes in microstructure, tensile property, and thermal fatigue property were investigated. Phase fraction of delta-ferrite was increased gradually with increasing Cr content. However, tensile strength, hardness, and thermal fatigue resistance appeared to be decreased. When the microstructure of delta-ferrite was observed, it was revealed that the mesh structure retained up to about 15% Cr content. Although thermal fatigue resistance was almost the same for Cr contents between 11.0 and 14.5 wt.%, it was significantly decreased at higher Cr contents. This was evident from mean value of crack lengths of 10 largest ones. Evaluation of thermal fatigue resistance on alloys with various Cr contents revealed the following important results. First, the reproducibility of ranking test was excellent regardless of the number of cycles. Second, thermal fatigue resistance was increased in proportion to true tensile fracture strength values of overlay materials. Finally, the number of thermal fatigue cracks per unit length was increased with increasing true tensile fracture strength.
In 1985 and 1986, silage productivity of 8 Korean improved and 7 US introduced corn hybrids and their resistance to rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) were tested in the southern part of Korea where RBSDV is prevalent. The results obtained are summarized as followes: 1. Percentage of RBSDV diseased plantes differed depending on the year and hybrid. Suweon 19, Kwangok, Hoengseungok, Jecheonok, Pioneer 3424, Pioneer 3H001, NC6 13 1 were most susceptible, Pioneer 3 160 and Pioneer 3358 were moderately susceptible, and Nampyungok, Suweon 90, Pioneer XCF38, PB 2, and Jinjuok were least suceptible. No hybrid was completely resistant to RBSDV. 2. There were negative correlations between percentage of RBSDV diseased plants and culm length, percentage of ear bearing plants, ear yield, silage yield, or digestible dry matter, but percentage of RBSDV diseased plants was not correlated with stover yield. 3. Silage yield of Jinjuok, Pioneer 3160, Pioneer 3358, and Pioneer XCF38 were higher than that of other hybrids in both years. However, digestible dry matter of Nampyungok, Suweon 89, and Suweon 90 were higher than that of other hybrids due to a higher proportion of ear in 1986 when RBSDV infection was severer.
In order to design the high strength corrugated fiberboard containers for agricultural products that can be used for the cold chain system, a large number of individual boxes were placed in various humidity environments at two different temperature of 5 and $20^{\circ}C$. The results indicated that temperature changes do not effect on physical strength of corrugated fiberboard containers as much as humidity changes did. The main conclusion from this study was that compression strength of corrugated fiberboard containers dropped significantly at high humidity condition, but the rates varied depending on the number of walls, temperature, and perimeter of containers. The packaging designer must consider the corrugated fiberboard boxes are also greatly affected by dimensional variations such as the length versus width ratio. Based on this study, water-resistant board would not be necessary if the ambient relative humidity does not reach to a critical point, 85 percent in the cold chain system. However, the designer must count for the unexpected fluctuation of rotative humidity resulting in severe loss of the compression strength of corrugated fiberboard container.
The design and construction of a 13 Tesla / 46 mm bore superconducting magnet is presented. The system consists of an 5 Tesla outer NbTi coil with a bore I.D. of 144m, a winding O. D. of 208mm and the length of 200mm which is connected in series with a 200mm long insert coil constructed of multi filamentary $Nb_3Sn$. The insert coil was reacted after winding. Also, epoxy impregnation is accomplished at $Nb_3Sn$ coil using a low viscosity crack resistant epoxy which is forced into the coil with a series of vacuum and over atmosphere pressure cycle.
With the further increase of span length, the cable-stayed bridge tends to be more slender, and becomes more susceptible to the seismic action. By taking a super long-span cable-stayed bridge with main span of 1400m as example, structural response of the bridge under the E1 horizontal and vertical seismic excitations is investigated numerically by the multimode seismic response spectrum and time-history analysis respectively, the seismic behavior and also the effect of structural nonlinearity on the seismic response of super long-span cable-stayed bridge are revealed. Furthermore, the effect of structural parameters including the girder depth and width, the tower structural style, the tower height-to-span ratio, the side-tomain span ratio, the auxiliary piers in side spans and the anchorage system of stay cables etc on the seismic performance of super long-span cable-stayed bridge is investigated numerically by the multimode seismic response spectrum analysis, and the favorable earthquake-resistant structural system of super long-span cable-stayed bridge is proposed.
The design of a 16 tesla/ 45mm bore superconducting magnet is presented. The system consists of an 8.2 tesla(at 4.2K) outer NbTi coil with a bore I.D. of 261mm, a winding O.D. of 453mm and the length of 430mm which is connected in series with a 5.6 tesla(at 4.2K) middle and a 4.7 tesla(at 4.2K) inner insert coil constructed of multifilamentary $Nb_{3}Sn$. The middle and inner insert coil will be reacted after winding. Also, epoxy impregnation will be accomplished at $Nb_{3}Sn$ coils using a low viscosity crack resistant epoxy which is forced into the coil with a series of vacuum and over atmosphere pressure cycle.
Shaking table tests and pseudo-static analysis were performed, in this study, on newly-designed aseismatic L-type caisson quay walls, which were constructed by extending the bottom plate of gravity quay walls into the backfill soil. The L-type quay walls are expected to give economical benefits by reducing the cross-sectional area of the wall while maintaining its aseismatic efficiency as much as the classical caisson gravity quay wall. To confirm the effectiveness of the L-type structure, the geometry of L-type quay walls were varied for shaking table tests. And, to verify the influence of backfill soils on the seismic behavior of quay walls, additional shaking table tests were performed on the L-type quay wall after the backfill soils were replaced by gravels and light materials. As a result, it was found that L-type caisson quay walls are good earthquake resistant structures but increasing the length of bottom plate did not proportionally increase the effectiveness of the structure in its aseismatic performance. Replacing the backfill soils by the gravels and light materials, contrary to our expectation, was not an effective measure in improving the seismic performance of L-type caisson quay wall.
