Williams, M K., King, E., and Walford, Joan (1969). Brit. J. industr. Med., 26, 202-216. An investigation of lead absorption in an electric accumulator factory with the use of personal samplers. Thirty-nine lead workers and controls, in stable conditions of exposure, each wore personal lead-in-air samplers daily for two weeks. During the second week samples for blood lead, urinary lead, urinary coproporphyrin, urinary $\gamma$-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), the punctate basophil count, and haemoglobin were taken daily. Duplicate estimations were made on one day. The lead exposures of men doing almost identical jobs differed by ratios of up to four to one. This could be attributed on y to personal differences in working habits. The correlation coefficients and regression equations of the biochemical tests with lead-in-air and with each other were determined. The mean values and $95\%$ confidence limits of single determinations of some of the biochemical tests corresponding to the two commonly accepted TLVs of lead-in-air (0-20 and 0-15 mg./$m^{3}$) were calculated from the regression equations. For each biochemical test the variation due to analytical error, the variation from day to day within subjects and the residual variation about the regression on lead-in-air were calculated. Previous estimates of the latter are not known. Excessive confidence may be placed in an index of exposure due to its low coefficient of variation within subjects unless the coefficient of variation between subjects about regression is taken into account. The correction for specific gravity of estimations of lead and ALA in spot samples of urine was found to reduce slightly the residual variation between subjects about the regression on lead-in-air and to increase the correlations with lead-in-air and with the other biochemical tests, but these changes were not statistically significant. The modified method used for estimating blood lead and urinary lead is described and validated.
In this paper, we introduce two techniques for resolving integer ambiguities between reference stations, which is one of the most important processes in Network RTK correction generation process. Each techniques uses Hatch filter and combination of L1/L2 measurements and we used simulation data and real data to evaluate performance of the techniques. For evaluating performance of each technique, we compared corrections generated from user site and Network RTK. As a result, Network RTK with the technique which uses Hatch filter improves user performance much more than single baseline RTK does. Residual of user is smaller than a half size of wavelength so it does not affect user integer ambiguity resolution, however, it contains significant bias error. On the other hand, when we used the technique which uses combination of L1/L2 measurements, residual error of user is largely reduced compared to the technique using Hatch filter.

In this paper, we proposed a algorithm and an operation boundary for fault detection of a onboard GNSS receiver. After aircraft exchange corrections computed by an aircraft receiver, a faulty aircraft receiver is detected by checking consistency of correction. For this purpose, PRC residual is used as the test statistic for fault detection of the onboard GNSS receiver. And operation boundaries are set by using DGPS position error increase with respect to the distance from a reference station. If the fault detection is performed by using aircraft only in operation boundary, the more accurate fault detection can be possible.
Qualified ground control points (GCPs) are required to construct a digital elevation model (DEM) from a pushbroom stereo pair. An inverse geolocation algorithm for extracting GCPs from ERS SAR data and the SRTM DEM was recently developed. However, not all GCPs established by this method are accurate enough for direct application to the geometric correction of pushbroom images such as SPOT, IRS, etc, and thus a method for selecting and removing inaccurate points from the sets of GCPs is needed. In this study, we propose a method for evaluating GCP accuracy and winnowing sets of GCPs through orientation modeling of pushbroom image and validate performance of this method using SPOT stereo pair of Daejon City. It has been found that the statistical distribution of GCP positional errors is approximately Gaussian without bias, and that the residual errors estimated by orientation modeling have a linear relationship with the positional errors. Inaccurate GCPs have large positional errors and can be iteratively eliminated by thresholding the residual errors. Forty-one GCPs were initially extracted for the test, with mean the positional error values of 25.6m, 2.5m and -6.1m in the X-, Y- and Z-directions, respectively, and standard deviations of 62.4m, 37.6m and 15.0m. Twenty-one GCPs were eliminated by the proposed method, resulting in the standard deviations of the positional errors of the 20 final GCPs being reduced to 13.9m, 8.5m and 7.5m in the X-, Y- and Z-directions, respectively. Orientation modeling of the SPOT stereo pair was performed using the 20 GCPs, and the model was checked against 15 map-based points. The root mean square errors (RMSEs) of the model were 10.4m, 7.1m and 12.1m in X-, Y- and Z-directions, respectively. A SPOT DEM with a 20m ground resolution was successfully constructed using a automatic matching procedure.
In South Korea, following the 2016 Gyeongju and 2017 Pohang earthquakes, the need for earthquake disaster prevention has been increasing. Reliable techniques for probabilistic seismic hazard analysis and ground motion models are required for quantifying earthquake damage. Recently, there has been growing demand for deep underground facilities, necessitating accurate quantification techniques for earthquake damage in deep underground. In this study, ground motion models within rock were proposed using ground motion data measured at borehole seismic stations. A regression analysis, a type of empirical technique, was applied to 17 periods selected in a range from 0.01 to 10 s of spectral accelerations to develop the ground motion models. Residual analysis was performed to evaluate and improve the prediction performance of the ground motion model, with correction factors added to the model equation. When applying the proposed model, the group means of residuals approached zero, and the standard deviation of total residuals, similar to existing models proposed in other countries, confirmed the reliability of the proposed model.
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) in the atmosphere is mainly generated from anthropogenic emission sources. It forms ultra-fine particulate matter through chemical reaction and has harmful effect on both the environment and human health. In particular, ground-level SO2 concentrations are closely related to human activities. Satellite observations such as TROPOMI (TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument)-derived column density data can provide spatially continuous monitoring of ground-level SO2 concentrations. This study aims to propose a 2-step residual corrected model to estimate ground-level SO2 concentrations through the synergistic use of satellite data and numerical model output. Random forest machine learning was adopted in the 2-step residual corrected model. The proposed model was evaluated through three cross-validations (i.e., random, spatial and temporal). The results showed that the model produced slopes of 1.14-1.25, R values of 0.55-0.65, and relative root-mean-square-error of 58-63%, which were improved by 10% for slopes and 3% for R and rRMSE when compared to the model without residual correction. The model performance by country was slightly reduced in Japan, often resulting in overestimation, where the sample size was small, and the concentration level was relatively low. The spatial and temporal distributions of SO2 produced by the model agreed with those of the in-situ measurements, especially over Yangtze River Delta in China and Seoul Metropolitan Area in South Korea, which are highly dependent on the characteristics of anthropogenic emission sources. The model proposed in this study can be used for long-term monitoring of ground-level SO2 concentrations on both the spatial and temporal domains.

10 sites in building development areas were selected and the noise level were measured by the apartment floors of apartment complex. With the fitted regression analysis, the distribution ratio($R^2$) and correction coefficient(r) was 25%(0.5) in the NIER('87) and 7.5%(0.274) in the NIER('99), respectively. The measured values of the noise level on the seventh floor of complex did not show a good agreement with the predicted noise level in the NIER('87, '99) formula. However, the developed formula demonstrated that the measured values were reasonably close to the predicted values, indicating the validity and adequacy of the predicted models with the fitted vs residual analysis in the 95% of confidence interval and 95% of predict interval. The results suggested that application of this development model obtained by the results according to the apartment floor can be improved in road traffic noise.
Limited information is available on the acceptability of Korean MRLs(maximum residue limits) and the health risk based on the pesticide exposure by food intake. The aim of this study was to evaluate TMDI(theoretical maximum daily intake) and EDI(estimated daily intake) for Korean by using MRLs, food intake, residue data, and correction factors, and compare with ADI(acceptable daily intake) in order to estimate the health risk based on the pesticide exposure. The study was performed in three steps. In the frist step, the residual pesticides in each category of food were investigated using the pesticide residue analytical data(1995-96) from officially approved organizations and the analytical data for poultry was adopted from Korean food code method. In the second step, TMDI was estimated from MRLs and food factors, and was compared with ADI. In the third step, the effectiveness of each culinary treatment (washing, peeling, steaming, boiling, and salting) was evaluated and EDI was calculated using pesticide residue data, food factor, and correction factor by treatment. TMDI obtained from MRLs and food intake, and food intake was summed as 1,100.99 g, which was 79.1% of total consumption. The percent ratio of TMDI to ADI for 156 pesticides was mostly below 80% and only 30 pesticides exceeded the ADI. In particular, non-treated EDI from pesticide residue data and food intake was summed up to about 43 $\mu\textrm{g}$/day/capita, and the rank was procymidone(8.6 $\mu\textrm{g}$) > maleic hydrazide(8.2 $\mu\textrm{g}$) > EPN(3.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$) > deltamethrin(3.5 $\mu\textrm{g}$) > cypermethrin(3.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$). The treated EDI calculated from pesticide residue data, food intake, and correction factor by culinary treatment was summed up to 13.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$/day/captia. The percentage of ADI was TMDI(79.74%) > non-treated EDI (0.17%) > treated EDI (0.04%), and the exposure level of Korean population to whole pesticides was below the level to produce health risk. Oncogenic risk of five pesticides used in Korea whose oncogenic potency(Q*) was known were assessed from TMDI and treated EDI. Dietary oncogenic risk for Korean was estimated to be 2.0$\times$10-3 on the basis of TMDI, 8.3$\times$10-7 on the basis of treated EDI. The oncogenic risk from TMDI exceeded the risk level(1$\times$10-6) of EPA, whereas the oncogenic risk from treated EDI and real exposure level lower than that of EPA.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was an accurate grasp of the astigmatic change due to eyes accommodation on near vision and suggested problems occurring accommodative astigmatism using near glasses. Methods: 154 subjects(308eyes) from 20 to 40 years selected for this study who had many opportunity of near vision. First, far vision corrective refraction measured using the phoropter, and then both eyes opened simultaneously for maintaining the function of binocular put away dot chart 40 cm. One eye was fogging and the other eye measured near vision astigmatism axis and degrees astigmatism using cross cylinder, and then compared with far astigmatism. Results: Increased degree of astigmatism persons on near vision more than decreased or did not changed degree of astigmatism persons, which could affect visual acuity more than 0.75 diopters in 30 eyes with an increase of 9.7% of total subjects. Direct astigmatism and oblique astigmatism were increased on near vision. Astigmatic axes were rotated base in direction on both eyes and 66.9% of subjects were more than ${\pm}$5$^{\circ}$ rotation. Due to the rotation axis of astigmatism, residual astigmatism is expected to occur and expect to adversely affect the eyes. Conclusions: Long-term using the glasses without correction of increased astigmatic and rotated axis on near vision should occur new residual astigmatism and increase the asthenopia also. Considered to be taken astigmatic change on near vision during near refraction examination.
The signal broadcast from a GPS satellite experiences code delay and carrier phase advance while passing through the ionosphere, which causes a signal error. Many ionosphere models have been studied to correct this ionospheric delay error. In this paper, the ionosphere modeling for the Korean Peninsula was carried out using a spherical harmonics based model. In contrast to the previous studies, we considered a real-time ionospheric delay correction model using fewer number of basis functions. The modeling performance was evaluated by comparing with a grid model. Total number of basis functions was set to be identical to the number of grid points in the grid model. The performance test was conducted using the GPS measurements collected from 5 reference stations during 24 hours. In the test result, the modeling residual error was smaller than that of the existing grid model. However, when the number of measurements was small and the measurements were not evenly distributed, the overall trend was found to be problematic. For improving this problem, we implemented the modeling with additional virtual measurements.
