  • An intelligent Kalman filter (IKF) is proposed for tracking an incoming anti-ship missile. In the proposed IKF, the unknown target acceleration is regarded as an additive process noise. When the target maneuver is occurred, the residual of the Kalman filter increases in proportion to its magnitude. From this fact, the overall process noise variance can be approximated from the filter residual and its variation at every sampling time. A fuzzy system is utilized to approximate this valiance, and the genetic algorithm (GA) is applied to optimize the fuzzy system. In computer simulations, the tracking performance of the proposed IKF is compared with those of conventional maneuvering target tracking methods.

  • 독립성분분석을 사용한 암묵신호분리의 성능은 잔향이 존재하는 환경에서 잔류 누설 성분 (cross-talk) 때문에 현저히 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 잔류 누설 성분을 제거하기 위한 후처리 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 주파수 영역에서의 변형된 NLMS(normalized least mean square) 필터를 사용하며 필터의 역할은 잔류 누설 성분을 유발하는 누설 경로를 추정하는 데 있다. 특정 채널에서 잔류하는 누설 성분은 상대 채널의 직접 성분에 해당되므로 관측되는 상대 채널의 입력신호를 이용하여 누설 경로를 추정할 수 있다. 변형된 NLMS 필터는 필터 입력 신호의 전력과 추정 오차 신호의 전력을 함께 고려하여 정규화한다. 특정 채널의 직접 신호 성분은 적응 필터에서 잡음처럼 동작하여 결국 적응필터가 오조정되기 때문에 제안하는 방법을 통해 적응필터의 오조정을 방지할 수 있다. 음성 신호를 사용한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법이 후처리를 사용하지 않은 경우에 비해 잡음 제거 성능(NRR)이 약 3dB 정도 개선되는 것을 확인 할 수 있다.

Effects of a Pre-Filter and Electrolysis Systems on the Reuse of Brine in the Chinese Cabbage Salting Process

  • In this study, the effects of a pre-filter system and electrolysis system on the safe and efficient reuse of brine in the cabbage salting process were investigated. First, sediment filter-electrolyzed brine (SF-EB) was selected as brine for reuse. Then, we evaluated the quality and microbiological properties of SF-EB and Chinese cabbage salted with SF-EB. The salinity (9.4%) and pH (4.63) of SF-EB were similar to those of control brine (CB). SF-EB turbidity was decreased (from 0.112 to 0.062) and SF-EB residual chlorine (15.86 ppm) was higher than CB residual chlorine (0.31 ppm), and bacteria were not detected. Salinity (2.0%), pH (6.21), residual chlorine (0.39 ppm), chromaticity, hardness, and chewiness of cabbage salted with SF-EB were similar to those of cabbage salted with CB. The total bacterial count in cabbage salted with CB was increased as the number of reuses increased (from 6.55 to 8.30 log CFU/g), whereas bacteria in cabbage salted with SF-EB was decreased (from 6.55 to 5.21 log CFU/g). These results show that SF-EB improved the reusability of brine by removing contaminated materials and by sterilization.

INS/GPS를 위한 적응필터 구성 (Adaptive filter Design for INS/GPS)

  • The adaptive filter is proposed for the INS/GPS. The proposed filter can estimate the variance of the process noise using the residual of the filter. To verify the efficiency of the adaptive filter, it is applied to the loosely-coupled INS/CPS that employs the additive quaternion error model. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed filter is more effective in estimating the attitude error than EKF.

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 동적 차분 위성항법과 관련하여 근래에 제안된 위치영역 Hatch 필터의 오차 특성을 해석하였다. 위치영역 Hatch 필터에 의하여 생성되는 잉여값 순열 (residual sequence)이 고장검출에 유용한 백색잡음 (white noise) 특성을 가짐을 보였으며, 위치영역 Hatch 필터는 기존에 알려진 위치영역 Kalman 형 필터에 비하여 전 상태 추정치 (a priori state estimate) 의 정확도 면에서 오히려 더 우수함을 해석적으로 보였다. 이와 같은 특성에 의하면 차분 위성항법의 다양한 응용분야에서 위치영역 Hatch 필터가 고장검출 및 정밀측위에 효율적으로 사용될 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

A Non-uniform Correction Algorithm Based on Scene Nonlinear Filtering Residual Estimation

  • Due to the technological limitations of infrared thermography, infrared focal plane array (IFPA) imaging exhibits stripe non-uniformity, which is typically fixed pattern noise that changes over time and temperature on top of existing non-uniformities. This paper proposes a stripe non-uniformity correction algorithm based on scene-adaptive nonlinear filtering. The algorithm first uses a nonlinear filter to remove single-column non-uniformities and calculates the actual residual with respect to the original image. Then, the current residual is obtained by using the predicted residual from the previous frame and the actual residual. Finally, we adaptively calculate the gain and bias coefficients according to global motion parameters to reduce artifacts. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm protects image edges to a certain extent, converges fast, has high quality, and effectively removes column stripes and non-uniform random noise compared to other adaptive correction algorithms.

웨이브릿에 기반한 영상의 잡음추정 (Wavelet-Based Noise Estimation in Image)

  • The paper presents an algorithm for estimating the variance of additive zero mean Gaussian noise in an image. The algorithm uses the wavelet transform which is a good tool for energy compaction. The algorithm consists of three steps. At first, high frequency components, wavelet coefficients in HH band, are generated from a noisy image by the wavelet transform. In a second step, high frequency components which are out of the noise range ate eliminated. Finally, if the image has many components eliminated in the previous step, then its noise estimated value is reduced. Experimental results show that the wavelet filter has better performance than the other high pass filters such as a Laplacian filter, residual from a median filter, residual from a mean filter, and a difference operator. In various images, the algorithm reduces 50% of estimated error on an average.

유연 구조물의 능동 반력 제어기 설계 (Active Control of Reaction Forces for Flexible Structures)

  • A method for actively controlling dynamic reaction forces in flexible structures subject to persistent excitations is presented. Since reaction forces are not directly measured in flexible structures, reaction forces are estimated by using the Kalman filter. The estimated reaction force is used as an error signal in the adaptive feedforward disturbance cancellation controller. In order to compensate the static effect of the truncated modes in the reaction forces, the residual flexibility matrix is used with the Kalman filter. The paper presents the formulation of the reaction forces in conjunction with the Kalman filter estimator and the adaptive feedforward controller. The results show that the dynamic reaction forces at its supports in a flexible beam test rir are well suppressed.

Design of Target Tracking System Using a New Intelligent Algorithm

  • When the maneuver occurs, the performance of the standard Kalman filter has been degraded because mismatches between the modeled target dynamics and the actual target dynamics. To solve this problem, the unknown acceleration is determined by using the fuzzy logic based on genetic algorithm(GA) method. This algorithm is the method to estimate the increment of acceleration by a fuzzy system using th relation between maneuver filler residual and non-maneuvering one. To optimize this system, a GA is utilized. And then, the modified filter is corrected by the new update equation method which is a fuzzy system using the relation between the filter residual and its variation. To shows the feasibility of the suggested method with only one filter, the computer simulations system are provided, this method is compared with multiple model method.
