  • Lung retransplantation (LRT) involves a second or subsequent lung transplant (LT) in a patient whose first transplanted graft has failed. LRT is the only treatment option for irreversible lung allograft failure caused by acute graft failure, chronic lung allograft dysfunction, or postoperative complications of bronchial anastomosis. Prehabilitation (rehabilitation before LT), while patients are on the waiting list, is recognized as an essential component of the therapeutic regimen and should be offered throughout the waiting period from the moment of listing until transplantation. LRT is particularly fraught with challenges, and prehabilitation to reduce frailty is one of the few opportunities to address modifiable risk factors (such as functional and motor impairments) in a patient population in which there is clearly room to improve outcomes. Although rehabilitative outcomes and quality of life in patients receiving or awaiting LT have gained increased interest, there is a paucity of data on rehabilitation in patients undergoing LRT. Frailty is one of the few modifiable risk factors of retransplantation that is potentially preventable. As such, it is imperative that professionals involved in the field of retransplantation conduct research specifically exploring rehabilitative techniques and outcomes of value for patients receiving LRT, because this area remains unexplored.

  • This study aims to propose a smart city governance logic model that can accommodate more diverse information service systems by mixing hub-and-spoke and blockchain technologies as a data management model. Specifically, the research focuses on deriving the logic of an operating system that can work across smart city planning based on the two data governance technologies. The first step of the logic is the generation and collection of information, which is first divided into information that requires information protection and information that can be shared with the public, and the information that requires privacy is blockchainized, and the shared information is integrated and aggregated in a data hub. The next step is the processing and use of the information, which can actively use the blockchain technology, but for the information that can be shared other than the protected information, the governance logic is built in parallel with the hub-and-spoke type. Next is the logic of the distribution stage, where the key is to establish a service contact point between service providers and beneficiaries. Also, This study proposes the establishment of a one-to-one data exchange relationship between information providers, information consumers, and information processors. Finally, in order to expand and promote citizen participation opportunities through a reasonable compensation system in the operation of smart cities, we developed virtual currency as a local currency and designed an open operation logic of local virtual currency that can operate in the compensation dimension of information.

  • To investigate the effects of national forest management on the regional community, the inter-relationship between the local communities and neighbouring forest owned by the state was surveyed in the three locations, namely pyungchang-gun, Bonghwa-gun, and Kwangyang-gun, which have a large area of national forest. The effect of national forest management on the local community was different depending upon the relationship between the local community and the national forest, the resource base and infrastructure and facilities installed within the national forest. The major contribution of the national forest to regional society is the provision of land resources, forest products, employment opportunities, and social functions of forest. The supply of land resource from the national forest has been increasing steadily due to the increase in demand for public facilities. About one quarter of household income in the forest villages surveyed came out of the sales of forest products, mainly non-timber products. Due to the low level of forest operations for timber production, there are very limited opportunities of employment provided by the national forest. And the use of forest roads by local residents was also to a limited extent. Therefore, it is suggested that the national frosts should be managed such that help to revive the economy of local communities which are disadvantaged in the national investment priority due to the low economic returns.
