As a very first step for theorizing shopping, this study attempted to diagnose the current of shopping research. Using the keyword of shopping from major academic databases in Korea, the study collected 560 research articles and analyzed patterns of: 1) research by year, journal, and academic area; 2) researchers by academic area; 3) keywords; and 4) research contents. Analyses showed that two thirds of articles in shopping were published after 2000. While the number of journals was the highest in business and engineering, the numbers of articles and researchers were the highest in business and apparel. The most frequently used included internet shopping mall, internet shopping, and shopping orientation. About 66% of shopping research was internet shopping related, and 80% was empirical study using individual consumers. Though shopping was studied as an individual consumer behavior, there were noticeable patterns in research contents by academic field. The study discussed such patterns and provided implications for multidisciplinary approaches for shopping theory and research.

본 연구는 한국교육학 분야의 대표적인 두 학술지에 10년 동안 발표된 연구논문 913편을 대상으로 연도별 발표논문 수와 연구주제별 발표논문 경향, 연구행태, 연구자 및 공동연구자의 수와 소속, 연구방법, 연구비 지원유무 및 지원기금을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 교육행정과 고등교육 분야의 논문발표는 지속적으로 증가추세를 보이며, "교육학 연구"에서는 기초학문적인 연구가, 그리고 "한국교육"에서는 정책 연구가 많은 비중을 차지했다. 연구방법으로 문헌연구, 조사연구, 실험연구, 사례연구 등의 순서로 사용되었지만 실험연구가 널리 사용되는 연구방법임이 밝혀졌다. 연구수행 행태에서 67%의 연구가 단독연구이며, 85%의 연구가 교수와 연구원에 의해 수행되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 실천적인 교육분야 연구, 국제지표와 현안에 대한 비교연구, 방법론의 정교화, 연구 분석단위의 다양화를 제언으로 제시하였다.

Overall view of fire science research in Korea is introduced by observing research papers published in the Journal of Korean Institute of Fire Science and Engineering, together with research interests and researchs undergoing at universities and research institutes. The role of Koran Institute of Fire Science and Engineering in promoting fire reseaches in Korea is described. In addition, research projects conducted Korean Institute of Fire Science and Engineering in cooperation with universities and research institutes are introduced.

Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulators (LC-SLMs) provide many interesting applications in laser optics and opto-el ectronic systems, in addition to displays. Among them, three topics developed at Thales Research & Technology are reviewed: wavefront correction for laser beam control, microwave processing in radar systems and holography for TN-LCDs viewing angle compensation.
