  • TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) is one of the urban structure concentrated on the multifunctional space/district with public transportation system, which is introduced for maintaining sustainable future cities. With such trends, the project of building complex transferring centers located at a urban railway station has widely been spreaded and a comprehensive and systematic analytical framework is required to clarify and readily understand the complicated procedure of estimation with the large scale of the project. By doing so, this study is to develop a comprehensive analytical framework for estimating a pedestrian OD matrix using a spatial information and an integrated smart card data, which is so called a data depository and it has been applied to the Samseong station for the model validation. The proposed analytical framework contributes on providing a chance to possibly extend with digitalized and automated data collection technologies and a BigData mining methods.

  • The TAGO and TOPIS systems have limitations in providing not only information collection problems but also customized information that meets the requirements of users in providing information. In addition, there is a lack of integrated link information for various means. In addition, there is a limitation in using public transportation because all the users can not conveniently use public transportation because of lack of user - customized information and traffic - related information. In this paper, in this paper, we analyze the current status of domestic and international public transport information systems and services, Through this, we expect to be able to provide customized information tailored to the requirements of users by providing integrated linking information for various means.

  • Intelligent remote learning system is a system that incorporate communication technology and others : a database engine, an intelligent tutorial system. Learners can study by themselves through the intelligent tutorial system. The existence of a communication, database and artificial intelligence enhance the capability of IRLS. According to Parsaye, an intelligent databases should have the following features : 1) Knowledge discovery. 2) Data integrity and quality control. 3) Hypermedia management. 4) Data presentation and display. 5) Decision support and scenario analysis. 6) Data format management. 7) Intelligent system design tools. I hope that this research of framework for IRLS paves for the future research. As mentioned in the above, the future work will include an intelligent database, self-learning mechanism using neural network.

  • A great deal of research has been made to model the vagueness and uncertainty in information retrieval. One such research is fuzzy ranking models, which have been showing their superior performance in handling the uncertainty involved in the retrieval process. In this study we develop a new fuzzy ranking model based on the user preference. Through the experiments on the TREC-2 collection of Wall Street Journal documents, we show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional fuzzy ranking models.

  • We have developed a novel thin film encapsulation method for thin-cathode OLED by introducing organic (not polymer)/inorganic multiple thin films to protect device, which is shown to slow down the permeation rate of moisture and oxygen. From the stability test of devices, the projected lifetime of thin-cathode OLED device with thin film encapsulation was similarly to that with glass lid encapsulation.

  • This paper investigated the MIS curriculum of fifteen four-year universities in South Korea. The data for analyses was collected from the university catalogues, questionnaire, and telephone interviews. Based on the data collected, this paper reported the current status of domestic MIS departments and analyzd the curriculum using the conceptual framework. The research results were discussed in terms of three issues : (1) the operations of MIS curriculum, (2) the sequences of selected MIS courses, (3) the course titles. This papers finally discussed the limitations of the current study and the future research directions.

  • Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulators (LC-SLMs) provide many interesting applications in laser optics and opto-el ectronic systems, in addition to displays. Among them, three topics developed at Thales Research & Technology are reviewed: wavefront correction for laser beam control, microwave processing in radar systems and holography for TN-LCDs viewing angle compensation.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data by evaluation the problems about nursing information system and identifying the need of improvement of it. Data were collected from April 6 to 15, 2000 through questionnaires taken by 218 nurses working in a general hospital using nursing information systems. The two structured questionnaires were used for the collecting the data. The data obtained were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Cronbach's alpha coeffcients. The results are as follows: 1. In the problem of nursing information system, ${\lceil}$There are no appropriate programs for independent nursing information systems because there are no nurse informatists in the information department${\rfloor}$ scored highest. Also, ${\lceil}$There is a lack of manual for operation of the nursing information system${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$There is difficulty getting help when the system is in trouble${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$General information about using computers and managing problems are lacking${\rfloor}$, ${\lceil}$Unsatisfactory matters about the nursing information systems are not improved quickly.${\rfloor}$ received high scores. 2. In the need for improvement of the nursing information system, ${\lceil}$Nursing education and research${\rfloor}$ was the highest area of the system. 3. The problems of the nursing information system showed high positive correlation with the need for improvement of the system(p=.00).

  • Purpose - This article's aim is to examine how the utilization of existing and future decision-support systems will lead to a change in the auditing process. Research design, data, and methodology - An information system is a special decision-support system that combines information obtained from various sources and communicates among them to help in assessing appropriate complex financial decisions. This paper analyzes techniques such as data and text mining as components of decision-support systems to be used in the auditing process. Results - We present views about how existing decision-support systems will lead to a change in audits. Auditors, who currently collect significant data manually, will in the future move towards management through complex decision-support systems. Conclusions - Although some internal audit functions are integrated into systems of continuous monitoring, the use of such systems remains limited. Thus, instead of multiple decision-support systems, a unified decision-support system can be deployed for this that includes sensors integrated within a company in different contexts (e.g., production, sales, and accounting) that continually monitors violations of controls, unusual patterns, and unusual transactions.
