  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to review the research trends in the treatment of pharmacopuncture for vascular dementia in Traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: We searched for articles in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database from January 2000 to August 2020. Results: Among the total 63 articles, 9 articles were selected. All studies were randomized controlled trial studies. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) was most frequently used as diagnostic criteria. Effective rate and Activity of Daily Living (ADL) were most commonly used as outcome measurements. Angelica gigantis Radix (當歸), Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (丹蔘), and Astragali Radix (黃芪) were the most commonly used ingredients in pharmacopuncture. Joksamni (ST36) and Sinsu (BL23) were the most commonly used acupoints for pharmacopuncture treatment. Based on the Risk of Bias (RoB) of these 9 articles, the overall quality of studies was low. Conclusions: Pharmacopuncture could be considered for the treatment of vascular dementia. In the future, various systematic studies on dementia are needed.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide basic data to identify the current status of use of maxillofacial prosthesis across the world and discuss its application and research directions in Korea. Methods: Existing literature (study period, 2010 to 2020) from international studies was collected from PsycINFO, CINAHL, and PubMed, whereas domestic studies were searched using KISS and RISS. Maxillofacial prosthesis was used as the search word. A total of three foreign and two domestic articles were searched, and as a result, a total of 12 documents were selected for analysis. Results: A total of 3,311 studies were searched in this study. Among them, 3,253 articles contained in duplicate inspection and exclusion criteria were removed, and 12 articles were selected by removing literature that did not meet the research criteria through title and green and text reviews. Finally, two researchers selected the final 12 articles through handwritten searches. Eleven of them were case studies, and the remaining one was a descriptive study. Conclusion: This study identified the current status of studies that implemented maxillofacial prosthesis, published from January 2010 to January 2020. Facial prosthetics improve the quality of life of patients by restoring defects that appear on different types of mouth and face and promote both function and aesthetics. Therefore, they can be used to treat various conditions and have a positive impact on the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the research articles on social work practice and discuss tasks of social work practice research in broadening and deepening social welfare knowledge body in Korea. First, this paper arranges critical discussion and results on social work practice research since the dawn of history in Korean social welfare research. Second, this paper examines 874 research articles published in Korean Journal of Social Welfare from the volume one in 1998 to the volume 66(4) in 2014. The appearance rate of social work practice research was 16.6%(145 articles), and empirical research in relation to social work practice was 40.5%(363 articles). Among 145 articles, 8.6% were practitioners, and the rest of them were in the position of professors. In addition, 26.2% were researches on program effectiveness, and 29.0% were researches on social worker. Third, this paper was interviewed 8 professors who majored social work practice. They evaluate the present states of social work practice research as positioning to boundary, crisis and confusion. Finally, this paper discusses the tasks of Korean social work practice research in order to more solidly develop the knowledge body of social work practice in Korea.

  • Retroreflective article is different from other reflecting objects as it returns the incidence ray to the near of its source. This characteristic makes the retroreflectors have many applications in reflective highway signs, reflective vests, and other safety-relaxed items. These articles may have various shapes. However, the quantitative evaluation of performance for the best shape of retroreflector needs much time and cost for manufacturing prototypes and for performance experiments. In this work, we have developed a program for simulating the trace of ray entered into a retroreflective element, in order to determine the optimal shape of retro-reflection. We have also proposed new performance criterion of retroreflective articles, which can confide the range of incidence angle, instead of the criterion with the merely retroreflective strength.

  • Objectives: To investigate therapeutic mechanisms of Gyejibokryeong-hwan (GJBRH) against gynaecological diseases, articles on biological assay were gathered and analyzed. Methods: The articles were classified as being from domestic or international journals, and by their year of publication. The mechanisms of the biological effects against gynaecological diseases were noted. Results: Of the 14 articles analyzed, 13 were published in China and 1 was from Japan. GJBRH showed therapeutic effect against uterine and mammary gland diseases. Uterine-related diseases such as endometriosis, hysteromyoma, adenomyosis, cancer, and inflammation can be improved by the administration of GJBRH through anti-angiogenesis, anti-inflammation, the modulation of immune cell and immunoglobulin, and the regulation of hormone secretion. GJBRH also reduced mammary hyperplasia by regulating hormone and cytokine release. Conclusions: We speculate that the inhibitory effect against uterine and mammary gland diseases could be related to the therapeutic efficacy of GJBRH in improving gynaecological diseases.

  • The aim of this study is to create a catalogue of amnesia synonyms in Traditional Korean Medicine for database utilization. A two-staged literature search was carried out. First, two databases(China National Knowledge Infrastructure:CNKI, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System:OASIS) were searched for eligible articles, and a set of candidate words was identified from the articles. Second, the candidate words were searched in 30 medical classics to check the frequency of use. As a result, 9 candidate words including 喜忘(huimang), 善忘(seonmang), 多忘(damang), 好忘(homang), 健忘(geonmang), 遂忘(sumang), 遺忘(yumang), 忘事(mangsa), and 易忘(imang) were identified from the 10 eligible articles. Among the 9 candidate words, 健忘(geonmang) was a descriptor and 7 other words including 喜忘(huimang), 善忘(seonmang), 多忘(damang), 好忘(homang), 遂忘(sumang), 遺忘(yumang), 忘事(mangsa) were non-descriptors. 易忘(imang) was not an adequate synonym for amnesia.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this report was to review the clinical trials of the catgut embedding for obesity treatment. Methods: We searched the clinical trial papers with key words of obesity and catgut embedding via searching Pubmed, Scopus and KISS etc. Results: We reviewed 8 searched articles, 7 articles were conducted in China and only 1 article was published in Korea. Most of Chinese articles used acupuncture as a control group and revealed the equality or superiority of catgut embedding in body weight loss. The only Korean article, which was uncontrolled, implanted catgut in localized fat area, it had changes partially in fat thick, body size. Conclusions: The acupoint catgut embedding has the efficacy of body weight loss, but to confirm the efficacy of localized fat loss, more randomized controlled trials are needed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the oral records of sports development contributors to explore the direction of big data research on sports development contributors in the future. To this end, the audio file produced in the interview with Lee00, a sports development contributor, was converted into text. The major themes were extracted by analyzing these oral records. The sub-themes were extracted in chronological order. Keywords were extracted by analyzing sub-themes. And the extracted keywords are searched in Google search engine to find related topics and to use them. A Google search for the topic 'Mt. Inwang' extracted from the oral archives of Lee00, a contributor to the development of sports, finds newspaper articles about President Moon Jae-in's climbing Mt. Inwang and opening up Mt. Bukhan. In addition, articles about Mt. Inwang and mountain climbers that the narrator In-jeong Lee speaks are searched for. Through these articles, you can Deriving the theme of the museum exhibition, Collection of museum exhibits, Use as climbing education material.
