  • For the success of system development, it is necessary to systematically manage the requirements that are the basis of system development and its verification results. In order to follow the principles of SE(Systems Engineering)-based V&V(Verification&Validation) process, requirements can be managed by securing the requirements and their establishments, design compliances, and verification compliances according to the system development lifecycle. Especially, in a large-complex system research and development project, such as a space launch vehicle development project, many participants establish, verify, and validate numerous requirements together during the project. Therefore, logical and systematic requirements management, including guarantee of data integrity, change history, and traceability, is very important for multiple participants to utilize numerous requirements together without errors. This paper introduces the practical requirements and verification management for the requirements-based development process in the space launch vehicle development project.

  • Information system gradually increases the complexity and scale of the project, while if the project fails to occur. To analyze the causes of failure of the project a lack of understanding of your project, unclear requirements and requirements change, etc. of the software development life cycle from requirements analysis phase is to find the source of most. In this paper, a software development project needs analysis derived from the traceability between features and functionality, and development needs throughout the life cycle requirements during the ongoing change management tool was designed to allow. And among those related to the project through consultation with a sufficient consensus to build a common understanding of effective communication will discuss the features required to support.

  • Nuclear Power Plant consists of about 1.4 million facilities. and the design standards and design requirements for the continuos utilization and safety of facilities are complexly connected with the facilities. When a design change for facilities or design requirements is occurred at the time of construction or operation, there are a lot of facilities, design requirements, and design bases that are affected by the facilities or design bases being changed. The above design changes are so complex that the existing document-bases design change process is time-consuming and may also cause human error. In this study, we developed a design requirement taxonomy that can be applied to the data-centric design bases document that can improve it. To do this, we analyze the design elements from the highest level to the lowest level applied to the nuclear power plant, and classify the design elements according to the characteristics of the design elements.

  • The AS9100 standard builds upon the ISO 9001:2000 quality management system requirements(in their entirety) and defines additional quality management system requirements for the aerospace industry. The 9100 standard on quality management system requirements is intended to be used at all levels of the supplier chain. The International Aerospace Quality Group has released a revision to 9100 for the aviation, space and defense industries. This change aims at improvement on quality, schedule and cost performance by adopting new requirements based on stakeholders' needs. This paper is to review how the AS9100 QMS Requirement has been established and improved, and to communicate the significant changes from AS9100, Rev. B to Rev. C focusing on reasons for revisions. The proposed schedule and considerations on the transition of the changes to Rev. C are also dealt with in this paper.

  • A comprehensive understanding of functions and performances enables a selection of appropriate alternatives to the existing design and can prevent defective design. A performance-based design quality management can ensure successful project completion. This study proposes a new model for design quality management in order to prevent defective design and to minimize design change. The new quality management model defines the requirement about function and performance based on technical characteristic, and assesses suitability for design alternatives. This study attempts to propose a quality matrix assessment method that can compare the alternative design and requirements defined with the new quality management model. This method can judge conformity and suitability of design quality in accordance with the requirements configured.

  • Configuration Management (CM) is a process of identifying and documenting the characteristics of a Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs), and of ensuring that changes to these characteristics are properly assessed, approved, issued, implemented and verified. There are requirement management, change control, facility configuration information management for CM activities. In order to improve safety of Nuclear Power Plant(NPP), it is necessary to manage change item systematically. Existing CM concept is focused on the NPP in operation. On the other hand, NPP under construction is difficult to efficiently manage the change because of different change process from varoius stake-holders. This research considers method of consolidation change process for NPP to ensure that approved changes are accurately reflected in the design requirements, facility configuration information, and the physical configuration.

  • In education, innovative ways of teaching and learning are always under development and keep being proposed with advanced concepts since the ancient times. Student-centered learning, problem-based learning and cooperative learning have been three major trends under development in secondary education research and practice more than a decade or so. Combined with advanced information and communication technologies, these trends will greatly transform the way we teach and learn in classroom environment and may change the classroom environment itself, into a more interactive and self-centered coaching type environment. In this study, a smart environment that utilizes advanced information technology devices and network is conceptualized, accommodating requirements contained and proposed in the recent trendy pedagogies. Pedagogical cases discussed in these trends are analyzed in detail, producing requirements for such a learning and coaching environment. These requirements are modeled using unified modeling language, leading to a proposal of a basic architecture for an information system supporting this environment.

  • Modern systems become more complex and the demand for systems safety goes up sharply. Thus, the proper handling of the safety requirements in the systems design is getting greatly increased attention these days. Hazard analysis has been one of the active areas of research in connection with systems safety. In this paper, we study a subject on how the hazard analysis results can be incorporated in the systems design. To this end we set up a goal on how to systematically generate safety requirements that should reflect hazard analysis results and be implemented in the systems design and development. To do so, we first review the process for systems design and suggest the associated Model. Then the process and results of hazard analysis are analyzed and Modeled particularly with emphasis on the safety data. The resulting data Model incorporating both the hazard analysis and system life cycle is used in the generation of safety requirements. Based on the developed data Model, the generation of the requirements, the construction of requirements DB, and the change management later on is demonstrated through the use of a computer-aided software tool.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the technology to meet the requirements of the design content, and to build a 'Requirement Information Management Model' for the design project. The model that should be used in the early design stage will undergo the following process: First, basic requirements would be defined by extracting the design content in the form of a reusable library of space units. At the next stage, requirement information should be modified after considering unique characteristics for the project and conflict problems between function and performance.
