A Study on 7-Eleven's Core Competencies: Focusing on the VRIO Model

  • In this study, the core competencies of 7-Eleven, Japan's representative convenience store, were derived through a qualitative analysis method using VRIO (value, rarity, Imitability, and organization) framework, a management strategy model based on Resource-Based View (RBV). As a result of VRIO analysis, the value can be based on the scale that 7-Eleven ranks first in the Japanese convenience store industry in terms of the number of stores and market share that it has developed based on capital. The rarity is based on the fact that raw material procurement, the main activity of a company, is establishing the nation's largest distribution channel in the entire process, from producers to logisticians and franchisees. The difficulty for Imitability is based on a dominant strategy and has secured a competitive advantage by opening stores in a specific area, improving awareness, and raising barriers to entry. As the largest company in the convenience store industry, it is confirmed that 7-Eleven is the result of organizational power that has built stores not only in Korea but also in 16 countries around the world.

식품 성분과 식품 포장용 인쇄 잉크 용매의 화학적 구조가 분배작용에 미치는 영향 (Effect of chemical and physical structure on partitioning behavior of representative printing ink solvents and various food ingredients)

  • Migration behavior of selected solvents and food samples showed differences of the chemical structures and polarities, the food samples which have similar polar expresses more higher affinity than different polar degrees. Water which is polar has a highest partitioning coefficient values on polar isopropanol, and oil which is nonpolar has highest partitioning value on non-polar toluene. The increasing order of partitioning values was accord with increasing water contents in food samples. It is showed that the wheat flour with 13.2% moisture content has the highest partitioning coefficient values on the isopropanol with -OH. Kp value of sugar showed remarkable lower partitioning coefficient values than other food samples due to high degree crystallinity. This phenomenon can be predictable with ${\delta}$ values, because order of partitioning coefficient values which comes out through the experiment and the sequence of Hildebrand solubility parameter value difference between food sample and printing ink solvent correspond almost. This Hildebrand solubility parameter value can be easily applied to the food package industry because the effect of food-safety can be considered without passing through complicated steps by using this method.

국부 통계조사자료를 이용한 자산별 경제적 감가상각추정에 대한 연구 (Estimating Economic Service Life of Assets by Using National Wealth Statistic)

  • The purpose of computing economic depreciation value is to find valuation of assets closely in line with market prices. The valuation of industrial assets are called Engineering Valuation. The two representative techniques for such valuation are Hulten-Wykoff Method, which estimates real value using regression equations, and T-factor Method devised at Iowa State University. The two are all empirical methods for computing service life (duration period). In this paper, we derived the service life by empirical methods using national wealth statistics, and also by more conventional methods such as original group method and retirement method. The results from each method are compared with one another. We also computed economic service life from these results. In S. Korea where amount of asset value statistics is still insufficient, the most effective method for empirically computing economic service life turns out to be the one using national wealth statistics. In addition, we also present economic relationship between depreciation value computed by using Hulten-Wykoff Method and depreciation value computed by using T-factor Method.

  • Purpose As the mobile easy payment service grows fast, competition in the payment service market is getting stronger. On the other hand, there are few studies on the users' utilization results. Therefore, this study explains the continuous use intention of mobile easy payment Services based on PAM and value model. Design/methodology/approach This study proposed an extended model by integrating PAM, which is a representative model of continuous use intention in IS field, and value model of mobile field. Also this study empirically tested 298 users who have experience of mobile easy Payment service. The structural equation model was used to verify the research model and hypotheses. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, this study verifies that perceived usefulness and satisfaction were determinants of continuous use intention in mobile easy Payment services. Expectation confirmation has been proved to be a positive predictor of satisfaction and perceived usefulness. Also, among the value factors, perceived ease was not a valid predictor of satisfaction, and the remaining factors were positive predictors of satisfaction.

농업·농촌 부문 공기업의 공익적 가치 인식 연구 - 한국농어촌공사를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Perception of Public Value from Public Corporation in the Agricultural and Rural Sector - The Case of Korea Rural Community Corporation -)

  • This study analyzes the perception of public value created by Korea Rural Community Corporation, a representative public corporation in the agricultural and rural sector. We categorize agricultural and rural public values as 'stable food supply,' 'conservation of national environment and nature,' 'formation and cultivation of water resources,' 'prevention of soil loss and flooding,' 'conservation of ecological system,' 'conservation of rural tradition and culture.' For the qualitative analysis, we apply content analysis. And, for the quantitative analysis, we use topic modeling and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) analysis which is used widely in the field of text-mining. Results show that internal perception for value suppliers are mainly created for 'stable food supply,' 'formation and cultivation of water resources,' and 'conservation of rural tradition and culture.' External perception for value demanders are created for all public values, but its evaluation and demand include various aspects including both positive and negative opinions.

  • We set the representative balcony types of the existed building to two types: unexpanded balcony and extended balcony, and analyze the effect of reducing the cooling and heating energy load when applying remodeling. The scope of the study was limited to balcony walls, including window-wall junctions, and was conducted by comparing cases with and without thermal break insulation structures for a clear conclusion. The study was conducted using the equivalent U-value in each case. The equivalent U-value was calculated by deriving through 2 dimensional steady-state heat transfer analysis of each case balcony envelope. And building energy was calculated using the derived equivalent U-value. According to the calculation results, for unexpanded balconies, the equivalent U-value was reduced by about 80%, and the heating and cooling load was reduced by about 20%. In the case of extended balconies, the equivalent U-value was reduced by about 57% and the resulting heating and cooling load was reduced by about 12%.

전통의 규범적 의미에 대한 재해석과 범주화 (A Study on Reinterpretation and Categorization of Normative Meaning of Tradition)

  • 본 연구는 전통의 규범적 의미에 대한 재해석과 범주화의 탐구를 목적으로 한다. 행위의 규정 근거로서 전통은 규범적 의미를 지니며, 도덕의 중요한 원천이다. 통시적 맥락에서 볼 때, 생태문화적 관점에서 고찰할 때, 전통적 가치는 그 연원이 있고, 시대적 사회적 변화에 따른 변용과 왜곡의 모습을 지니기도 한다. 전통적 가치가 민주시민으로서 미래 사회를 대비하는 데 기여하기 위해서는 재해석과 범주화가 필요하다. 미래 한국사회의 변화 전망 속에 유효한 전통의 규범적 의미는 그 연원으로부터 재해석을 통해 도출될 수 있다. 본고의 논의 순서는 다음과 같다. 먼저 생태문화적 관점에서 전통적 가치의 동적인 변화상을 살펴보고, 한국사회에서 전통적 가치에 대한 사회적 인식을 바탕으로 대표적인 전통적 가치인 충효의 현대적 재해석의 가능성을 탐색하고자 한다. 끝으로 서구적 가치와 한국의 전통적 가치를 포괄하는 한국적 가치의 맥락 속에서 전통적 가치의 범주화와 그 함의를 밝히고자 한다.

화폐 읽기: 화폐의 의미작용과 가치 (Reading "Money": Value and Signification of Money)

  • 화폐를 소통 미디어로 간주하고 화폐가 야기하는/실패하는 소통 형식을 추적하는 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. 현대 자본주의사회에서 화폐를 경제적 역할(가치척도 수단, 유통 수단, 축장 수단, 지불 수단)에만 한정해 논의할 수는 없다. 사회 전 영역에서 인간을 매개하고, 의미를 전하는 사회문화적 역할을 수행하는 미디어로도 이해해야 한다. 이 같은 인식 아래 화폐에 대한 언어학적/기호학적 이론화를 시도했다. 마르크스의 가치형태론과 언어학/기호학을 접합시키고자 했다. 접합을 통해 소통 미디어로서 화폐는 두 가지 의미작용을 펼치고 있는 것으로 파악했다. 하나는 무한한 부의 축적을 욕망케 하는 메타 의미작용이다. 그 결과 화폐는 두 번째 의미작용인 개별 상품들 사이의 구체적이고 중층적인 의미작용들을 대신하게 된다. 화폐가 주인 기표가 되며 모든 기호들의 의미작용은 파괴되고 아무것도 아님은 모든 것이 될 수 있음을 의미화하였기 때문이다. 이를 통해 소통 미디어로서의 화폐는 모든 개별 주체의 보편적인 상상적 동일시의 대상이 되었다. 화폐는 개별 기호를 묘사할 뿐만 아니라 대표하는 지위를 점한다. 그러나 대표와 묘사는 지속적인 긴장을 일으키며 주인 기표로서의 화폐의 지위를 위협한다. 마르크스의 보나파르티즘 분석에 대한 화폐기호학적 재독해는 이와 같은 긴장의 구체적 국면을 드러내고 있었다. 즉 묘사될 수는 있으나 보나파르티즘에 의해 대표되지 못하고 이탈된 주체들은 체계의 위협 요소로 상존하였다. 소통 미디어로서의 화폐는 의미작용의 작동을 통해 화폐 체계의 성립과 와해의 가능성을 동시에 지니고 있다.

자연휴양림 보존가치 측정을 위한 조건부가치측정법(CVM) 추정액 비교 (Comparative Study on Monetary Estimates of the Preservation Value of Recreational Forests through Contingent Valuation Methods)

  • 우리가 일반적으로 인식하고 있는 자연자원의 하나인 산림이 제공해 주는 중요한 기능은 공기 정화기능과 그 속에서 인류에게 휴식과 휴양활동을 가능하게 해 주는 보건기능이라고 할 수 있다. 하지만, 근래에 들어 사람들이 누리고 있는 자연환경의 중요성은 인식하지만 어느 정도의 가치가 있는지에 대한 질문에는 쉽게 대답하기 곤란하다. 그 이유는 환경재가 시장에서 거래되지 않는 공공재이기 때문에 거래 가격이 형성되지 않기 때문이다. 그렇기 때문에 현재 통화가치로 측정하기도 쉽지 않으며, 이 가치측정을 위한 아이디어들이 경제학자들 사이에서 탐구되어 왔다. 대표적인 환경재의 가치추정을 위한 방법은 조건부가치측정법(Contingent Valuation Methods: CVM)이며, 수학, 통계학, 경제학의 발달과 이들 학문과의 융합과정에서 다양한 추정방법들이 연구되어지고 시도되어 왔다. CVM에서 주로 사용하는 측정방법은 단일경계와 이중경계에서의 로짓과 프로빗 방법이며, 이 네가지 추정액을 비교하기 위해 본 연구가 수행되었다. CVM 추정액은 단일경계에서 의 로짓 중앙값이 가장 낮은 추정치가 도출되었으며, 이중경계에서의 프로빗 평균값이 가장 높은 추정치가 도출되었다. CVM을 통한 환경재의 추정금액과 추정방법의 선행연구가 몇몇 있었으나 부분적으로만 비교하는데 거쳤으나, 본 연구는 1,123부의 설문지를 통하여 네 가지 분석방법과 금액을 비교하여 제시하였다. 본 연구의 도출된 결과는 차후의 추정액과 추정방법의 비교를 위한 기초자료로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

연구개발투자 지출이 기업의 시장가치에 미치는 영향: 유통산업을 중심으로 (The Effect of R&D Expenditures on Market Value of the Firm: Focusing on Distribution Industry)

  • Purpose - In recent digital information society, the most important factor of to increase the firm value of the distribution company is not the activity to increase the sales through the general advertisement of the unspecified majority by purchasing the finished product, but to grasp the needs of the consumers and to develop a new distribution platform that connects producers and consumers directly through consumer-tailored advertisements centering on e-commerce. Therefore each company in the distribution industry is spending a lot on research and development investment to innovate the distribution technology and distribution system, and the research and development investment expenditures can affect firm value. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of research and development investment expenditures in the distribution industry on market value of the firm. Research design, data, and methodology - As a research method, the sample firms are those which are listed on korea stock exchange market from 2011 to 2017 and the research model is Ohlson(1995) model, which is a representative valuation model using accounting information. This study analyzes the effect of distribution company's research and development investment expenditures and advertising expenditures on market value of the firm Results - The results of empirical analysis show that research and development investment expenditures for developing new distribution technology and advertising expenditures for promoting sales in the distribution company are all positively related to the market value of firm. Therefore, in describing market value of the distribution company, it is shown that the research and development investment expenditures and advertising expenditures together with the net asset and net profit are the important accounting information that explains the market value of firm. This result show that investment expenditures on research and development for the innovation of distribution technology of distribution company creates intangible intellectual assets and increases market value of the firm. Conclusions - The result of this study shows that research and development investment expenditures for the new distribution technology as well as the spending for the advertisement in the future is a very important investment expenditures that can increase the market value of the distribution company.
