  • The research proposes three ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) tests using expected mean square(EMS) algorithms in various split-plot designs. The variance tests consist of Never-Pool test, Sometimes-Pool test and Always-Pool test. This paper also presents two EMS algorithms such as standard method and easy method. These algorithms are useful to make a decision rule for pooling. Numerical examples are illustrated for various split-plot designs such as split-plot designs, split-split-plot designs, repetition split-plot designs, and nested designs. Pragmatically, the results are summarized and compared with popular ANOVA spreadsheets and data model equations.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for estimating pulse repetition intervals (PRIs) of stagger PRI pulse trains using a 2 dimensional TDOA histogram. The PRI transform algorithm can remove harmonics of stable and jitter PRI pulse trains in a TDOA histogram. But, it is impossible for the algorithm to detect stagger PRI pulse trains because it regards frame PRIs of stagger Pulse trains as harmonics of stable PRI pulse trains. A new algorithm of this paper has an ability to distinguish stagger pulse trains from harmonics of other pulse trains and to estimate frame PRIs of detected pulse trains.

  • A triple 2-of-3 pulse repetition frequency (PRF) scheme is presented for medium PRF pulsed-Doppler airborne radars, and a real-time method is developed that searches for optimal or sub-optimal PRF sets according to momentary battle situations. The effectiveness of the real-time search method of PRF sets is demonstrated by the experimental results obtained using simulated data.

  • Presently, A glass is widely used in telecommunication system, optoelectronic devices and micro electro mechanical systems. Micro drilling of glass using the laser can save processing cost and improve the accuracy. This paper experiments micro drilling using KrF excimer laser on the pyrex glass of $500{\mu}m$ thickness. We have experiment to find out optimum laser machining conditions of micro drilling of glass and ablation depth and influence by processing parameter suc'h pulse repetition rate, energy density and number of pulses. Pulse repetition rate don't influence ablation depth at the micro drilling of pyrex glass. Energy density influence micro drilling of parallelism and maximum thickness that can be drilled. Ablation depth is most influenced by number of pulses.

  • Information on temporal evolution of whole velocity fields are essential for physical understanding of a complicated turbulent flow. Due to advances of high-speed imaging technique, laser and electronics, high-speed digital cameras and high-repetition pulse lasers are commercially available in nowadays. A dynamic PIV system that can measure consecutive instantaneous velocity field with 1K$\times$ 1K pixels resolution at 1 fps was developed. It consists of a high-speed CMOS camera and a high-repetition Nd:YLF pulse laser. Theoretically, it can capture velocity fields at 20 fps with a reduced spatial resolution. In order to validate its performance, the dynamic PIV system was applied to a turbulent jet of which Reynolds number is about 3000. The particle images of 1024$\times$512 pixels were captured at a sampling rate of 4 KHz. The dynamic PIV system measured successfully the temporal evolution of instantaneous velocity fields of the turbulent jet, from which spectral analysis of turbulent structure was also feasible.

  • This paper proposes the methods to enhance the speech quality of source controlled variable bit-rate coder based on the waveform interpolation. The methods are to estimate and generate the parameters that are not transmitted from encoder to decoder by the repetition and extrapolation schemes. For the performance evaluation, the PESQ(Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) scores are measured. The experimental results shows that our proposed method outperforms the conventional source controlled variable bit-rate coder. Especially, the performance of the extrapolation method is better than that of the repetition method.

  • 20 GHz and 40 GHz micro/millimeter-wave photonic pulse trains have been generated from a fiber ring laser with a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) by injecting 2 GHz gain-switched Fabry-Perot laser diode (GS-FPLD) output. To achieve efficient cross-gain modulation in the SOA at 20 GHz and 40 GHz, individual lasing modes of the 2 GHz GS-FPLD output separated to 25 and 50 picoseconds respectively by passing dispersion compensating fibers.

  • EEG(Electroencephalogram) provides a possibility of communicating between a human and a computer, called BCI(brain computer interface). EEG evoked by a movement has been often used as a control command of a computer. This study is to predict human movements by EEG parameters showed significant consistency. Three undergraduate students were asked to move both hands and foots thirty times respectively. Each movement consisted of single and three consecutive movements. Their EEG signals were analyzed to obtained ERD(Event Related Desynchronization) and ERS(Event Related Synchronization). The results showed that ERD and ERS could be used as a significant classifier identifying either single movement or repetitive movement of human limbs. The number of repetition of movement could be used to various control commands of a computer.

  • The present research measured interkey times in typewriting according to the mumber of consonants and vowels within words of the Korean alphabet. And another purpose of this study was to investigate whether the perception of syllable and final consonant, and one hand repetition can influence the interkey times in typewriting or not. The procedure of experiment was that subjects typed works according to the conditions. And we analyzed interkey times of each words. The results has shown that the perception of syllable and final consonant, and one hand repetition influenced the interkey times in typewriting.

  • Speech shares acoustic features with other sound-based processing, which makes it difficult to distinguish phonological process from acoustic process in speech processing. In this study, we examined the difference between acoustic process and phonological process during repetition tasks. By contrasting various stimuli in different lengths, we localized neural correlates of acoustic process within bilateral superior temporal gyrus, which was consistent with the previous studies. The activated patterns were widely overlapped between words and pseudowords, i.e., contents-free. In contrast, phonological process showed left-lateralized activation in middle temporal gyrus located at anterior temporal areas. It implies that phonological process is contents-specific as shown in our previous study, and at the same time, more language-specific. Thus, we suggest that phonological process is distinguished from acoustic process in that it is always accompanied with the obligatory access to available phonological codes, which can be an entry of the mental lexicon.
