A Study on the Trends of Remodeling in the Apartment Housing Unit - Focused on case study of the Korea National Housing Corporation - (공동주택 주호의 리모델링 경향에 관한 연구 - 대한주택공사 리모델링 사례 및 현상공모전 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The remodeling of apartment that improves the improves the life level is going to be in the market because of lots of old apartment buildings. Until now, the research of remodeling is mainly restricted to the laws and financial funding, however, the needs in the trend of remodeling. This research, first, through the examples of remodeling in the country, this study draws remodeling factors that can be applied. Secondly, this study targets the study of remodeling to apartments and analyzes the type of housings made by the Korea National Housing Corporation. Thirdly the study analyzes the features that appear in housing units and draws out factors of remodeling This research's result is arranged as follows. \circled1Need Remodeling thorough study of space expanded, grant between artificer and active performance improvement direction such as building equipment expansion along with Remodeling concept of unit repair. \circled2When apartments are newly built, systematic construction is necessary that considers future efficiency improvement from the design stage. \circled3This study, which applied the characteristic factors appearing after the 1990s to remodeling factors, show that they can be applied when remodeling the worn out wall-slab type apartments.

Post-Translational Regulation of the RSF1 Chromatin Remodeler under DNA Damage

  • Chromatin remodeling factors are involved in many cellular processes such as transcription, replication, and DNA damage response by regulating chromatin structure. As one of chromatin remodeling factors, remodeling and spacing factor 1 (RSF1) is recruited at double strand break (DSB) sites and regulates ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) -dependent checkpoint pathway upon DNA damage for the efficient repair. RSF1 is overexpressed in a variety of cancers, but regulation of RSF1 levels remains largely unknown. Here, we showed that protein levels of RSF1 chromatin remodeler are temporally upregulated in response to different DNA damage agents without changing the RSF1 mRNA level. In the absence of SNF2h, a binding partner of RSF1, the RSF1 protein level was significantly diminished. Intriguingly, the level of RSF1-3SA mutant lacking ATM-mediated phosphorylation sites significantly increased, and upregulation of RSF1 levels under DNA damage was not observed in cells overexpressing ATM kinase. Furthermore, failure in the regulation of RSF1 level caused a significant reduction in DNA repair, whereas reconstitution of RSF1, but not of RSF1-3SA mutants, restored DSB repair. Our findings reveal that temporal regulation of RSF1 levels at its post-translational modification by SNF2h and ATM is essential for efficient DNA repair.

  • Nowadays the importance of Building Remodeling as a means to create an architectural environment capable of responding to the social, economic changes has increased more than before. After long time pass, the aged building have faced the need for the overall repair of the structure and function. Remodeling is much more saving the time and cost than new construction in the office building. This study was focused in functional and efficient evaluation. Based on these points, we developed the evaluation factors, and verified a validity of evaluation factors through a survey. The purpose of this study was focused on the Analysis for Recognizing the priority of Indoor Environmental Factors in office Remodeling. This study provides us the competitive guidance of remodeling. The owners and tenants take the maximum efficiency with the minimum cost.

  • Apartments, which are typical residential spaces, are reconstructed or remodeled according to aging. However, reconstruction or remodeling of apartment complexes or an individual building requires following relevant laws and policies and requires a lot of time. Therefore, there are cases where apartment residents choose remodeling that improves the living environment by renovating only the interior of their household. In order to improve the interior space of an apartment, various materials such as windows, toilets, walls, and floors are replaced, and lots of matters must be considered in this process. Several problems arise in the process of selecting a remodeling company and carrying out construction, and the problem must be resolved through owner's decision-making. This study analyzes the problems through the case of apartment interior remodeling and suggests ways to improve them.

  • If we build new building after demolition of commercial building that is located in the downtown, it will be caused a social and environmental problem as wasting of resources and generating of waste. In this study, I investigated about remodel ins, this conclusion is given below. 1. Reconstruction cost is 2.1 times, and construction period is 1.4 times as much remodeling. So remodeling has an advantage. 2. For repairing and reinforcing timeworn building, we reinforced it as using carbon fiber sheet (girder, slab) and injecting method steel plate bonding Also, we tried to maintain efficiency of new building as using epoxy to protect concrete crack. 3. In the side of waste products and cost, remodeling has much more advantage than reconstruct. But demolition used construction period much. Because it had to be reused as repairing and reinforcing. And there was no difference between remodeling cost and reconstruct cost. If we develop research with enterprise.university.laboratory to exploit material and equipment and to train specialized engineer who will has a capacity to know construct repair and reinforce, it can be attribute to prevail remodeling in new construct market.

Policy Direction in Responses to Demand for Apartment Remodeling (공동주택 리모델링 수요에 대응한 정책 추진방안)

  • This study aims to seek a proper policy direction in response to the demand for apartment remodeling. As the research methods, we diagnosed the current status of the remodeling policy and analyzed the demand for apartment remodeling nationwide. According to the result of analysis, we suggested the fundamental direction and tasks for remodeling policies to be pursued at the government level. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, the result of analysis showed that the demand for environmental improvement(performance improvement) remodeling project was much higher than other types of remodeling projects. The percentage of unit increased-type remodeling that can secure business feasibility is about 10% and only 30% when it comes to reducing project costs. The remaining 70-90% need to be promoted in environmental improvement remodeling projects which dependent on the residents' payment. Second, in order to prepare a policy action plan in response to the demand for apartment remodeling, it is necessary to set up clear policy goals and strategies for apartment remodeling in advance at the national level. Along with proactive goals and strategies, graded policy support should be accompanied per type of remodeling and business demand. We also suggest to simplify administrative procedures and support the R&D research to develop technologies. It would help to utilize the unit increased-type remodeling. On the other hand, for utilizing the environmental improvement remodeling which takes up a relatively high proportion, the policy should take care of as follows: offering housing performance information, rationalizing long term repair reserve, fostering small companies and experts. Finally, apartment management system should be advanced from the perspectives of managing old apartments and institutional foundations such as new construction and customized regulations for differentiated remodeling should be accompanied.

  • In this apartment market, many apartments are being reconstructed within even less than 20 years from their first construction. This entails many problems in environmental and economical facets, for which many researches are under way in several institutions and universities. International cases show that the international trend goes for remodeling of maintenance, management, and repairing rather than new building. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of cost evaluation for establishing the time period of apartment based on durability of material and equipment while considering the economic feasibility of apartment, when remodeling as a concept of sustainability regarding building is being vitalized. This study investigates the proper period of remodeling in consideration of weight accruing to the LC(Life Cycle) and cost based on the standardized durability. The weight of cost, period establishment analysis, and LC according durability varies the data values of remodeling periods. The physical durability and cost from this data enable the investigation into not only the repair period of individual materials of the apartment but also remodeling period.

α-Kleisin subunit of cohesin preserves the genome integrity of embryonic stem cells

  • Cohesin is a ring-shaped protein complex that comprises the SMC1, SMC3, and α-kleisin proteins, STAG1/2/3 subunits, and auxiliary factors. Cohesin participates in chromatin remodeling, chromosome segregation, DNA replication, and gene expression regulation during the cell cycle. Mitosis-specific α-kleisin factor RAD21 and meiosis-specific α-kleisin factor REC8 are expressed in embryonic stem cells (ESCs) to maintain pluripotency. Here, we demonstrated that RAD21 and REC8 were involved in maintaining genomic stability and modulating chromatin modification in murine ESCs. When the kleisin subunits were depleted, DNA repair genes were downregulated, thereby reducing cell viability and causing replication protein A (RPA) accumulation. This finding suggested that the repair of exposed single-stranded DNA was inefficient. Furthermore, the depletion of kleisin subunits induced DNA hypermethylation by upregulating DNA methylation proteins. Thus, we proposed that the cohesin complex plays two distinct roles in chromatin remodeling and genomic integrity to ensure the maintenance of pluripotency in ESCs.

  • This paper illustrates a comparative analysis on the economic efficiency of remodeling method that is one of major factors in totting more desirable standards and proposes to utilize LCC calculation techniques in generating a required budget for more effective quantity-based analysis that is both objective and effect. Rather than comparing only the initial lost of two different methods, it seems through to compare their entire life cycle cost that includes any repair and reconstruction/ remodeling expenses, thus generate overall quantitative analysis in objective perspective
