  • There are a lot of problem about waterproofing membrane coating for concrete deck of bridge and waterproofing sheets for concrete of deck of bridge because it couldn't confirm waterproofing's defeat after construction. These problems make a waterproofing material damage and concrete deck of bridge damage. So It needs a lot of money for repair work and reinforcement work. Evaluation of Piping Integrity in Thinned Main Feedwater Pipes

  • Significant wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion(FAC)was recently reported in main feedwater pipes in 3 Korean pressurized water reactor(PWR) plants. The main feedwater pipes in one plant were repaired using overlay weld method at the outside of pipe, while those in 2 other plants were replaced with new pipes. In this study, the effect of the wall thinning in the main feedwater pipes on piping integrity was evaluated using finite element method. Especially, the effects of both the overlay weld repair and the stress concentration in notch-type thinned area on the piping integrity were investigated. The results are as follows : (1) The piping load carrying capacity may significantly decrease due to FAC. In special, the load carrying capacity of the main feedwater pipe was reduced by about 40% during about 140 months operation in Korean PWR plants. (2) By performing overlay weld repair at the outside of pipe, the piping load carrying capacity can increase and the stress concentration level in the thinned area can be reduced.

  • The length of city gas pipeline is increasing with expansion of natural gas transmission rapidly. A lot of the expense was paid for repair and maintenance with increasing of pipeline length and the cost of repair and maintenance by the corrosion was the highest. It is necessary to evaluate integrity in case of thickness reduction by corrosion. There are a lot of assessment criteria for corrosion defect in foreign countries but they are not suitable for application in the country directly. In this work, we performed the burst test and the finite element analysis for city gas pipeline, KS D3507 and KS D3631 for city gas transmission, and developed the assessment method of corrosion defect, which is suitable for domestic condition.

A Study on an Authorized Stockage List Selection Model (목표계획법을 이용한 사단급 ASL 선정 모형에 관한 연구)

  • The selection criteria of an Authorized Stockage List (ASL) in the Army is based on Army Regulation(AR)409. However, the current selection method of ASL is not considered in cost, weight and volume of repair parts. This paper is focused on developing for a new selection model taking account of cost, weight and volume of repair parts. Goal programming is utilized in order to consider weighted priorities. Different units of cost, and volume are normalized for using weighing value. Real data of a field division are applied to the model. Results of the new selection model are more reduced in cost, weight and volume than those of the previous method.

The Strengthening Desing Method Considering Damages of Structure (구조물의 손상 상태에 따른 보강설계법 연구)

  • Recently, many strengthening methods are developed to repair damaged structures, especially, steel plate or carbon fiber sheet bonding methods are widely used. For the bonding methods, the strengthening materials are bonded when the original structure is under loading, which causes difference of initial stresses between original member and bonded material. However, current design method or theory, which mostly depends on ultimately strength design, cannot account the difference of initial stresses between members, and it disregards the reduction of nominal strength. In this study, a new strengthening design theory and program which can account the difference of initial stresses are developed, and applied to the case when a structure in service is repaired. In order to verify the validity of the theory and the program, a test result is referred and compared with the results and it is showed that the calculated values are almost same as the referred data and finally proved that the program is reliable. The results showed that the amount of strengthening material depends on the status of damages of structure, and the nominal strength is reduced depending on the degree of damages.

  • In this study, various materials such as epoxy material, urethane material, cement material, and acrylic material are used to solve the water leakage occurring in underground structures. However, in the reality that the durability is insufficient and the effect is insufficient, it is aimed to improve the repairing effect by using cement and acrylics in combination. As a first study, we tried to verify the performance of improve the performance by checking the product properties according to the composition ratio of polyacrylic resin. Polyacrylic resin is evaluated in three different composition ratios. When the material is selected for polyacrylic resin, it is applied to the field to understand the maintenance effect and durability.

  • Chylothorax is a rare postoperative complication of a thoracic surgical procedure. Here, we report a case of chylothorax after thoracic endovascular aortic repair with debranching for the distal arch aneurysm of the aorta. First, the patient was treated by a medical method (nil per os, fat-free diet, and octreotide), but this method failed. The patient strongly refused surgical treatment. Therefore, we tried to occlude the thoracic duct by lymphangiography Lipiodol, and this line of treatment was successful.

  • As malicious apps vary significantly across Android malware, it is challenging to prevent that the end-users download apps from unsecured app markets. In this paper, we propose an approach to classify the malicious methods based on permissions using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) that is used to embed the semantics among Intent and permissions. Then the malicious method that is an unsecured method will be removed and re-uploaded to official market. This approach may induce that the end-users download apps from official market in order to reduce the risk of attacks.

  • In this study, the three-dimensional finite element method is used to analyze the behavior of corner cracks in finite-thickness plates repaired with a composite patch. The normalized stress intensity factor at the crack front is used as fracture criterion. Comparison of stress intensity factor values at the internal and external positions of repaired quarter-elliptical corner crack was done, for three repair techniques. The influence of mechanical and geometrical properties of the adhesive layer and the composite patch on the variation of the stress intensity factor (SIF) at the crack-front was highlighted. The obtained results show that the application of double patch leads to a remarkable reduction of SIF at the crack front, compared to facial and lateral repairs.

  • Repair and Reinforcement are subjected change to increasing of remodelling. The usage of carbon fiber sheets is increasing for the strengthening of reinforce concrete structures. Therefore experimental and analytical studies are carry out to investigate the flexural behaviors of the strengthened RC structures by the external bonding of the new reinforcement method. Also the aim of this study is to investigate reinforcing method of FRP panel deal with fatigue loading through experiments.
