Remote Reading of Surgical Monitor's Physiological Readings: An Image Processing Approach

  • As a result of the global effect of infectious diseases like COVID-19, remote patient monitoring has become a vital need. Surgical ICU monitors are attached around the clock for patients in critical care. Most ICU monitor systems, on the other hand, lack an output port for transferring data to an auxiliary device for post-processing. Similarly, strapping a slew of wearables to a patient for remote monitoring creates a great deal of discomfort and limits the patient's mobility. Hence, an unique remote monitoring technique for the ICU monitor's physiologically vital readings has been presented, recognizing this need as a research gap. This mechanism has been put to the test in a variety of modes, yielding an overall accuracy of close to 90%.

  • Digital twin has the advantages of quality improvement and cost reduction, so it is widely applied to various industries. In this paper, a method to implement the major technologies of digital twin easily and quickly is presented. These include data management and relay servers, real-time monitoring applications including remote control interfaces, and direct connection protocols for video streaming. In addition, an algorithm for controlling a two-wheeled vehicle with a 2D interface is also proposed. The implemented system performs near real-time synchronization between the real environment and the virtual space. The delay time that occurs in remote control of the vehicle in the real environment was compared with the results of applying the proposed delay time reduction method. In addition, in the case of 2D interface-based control, an algorithm that can guarantee the user experience was implemented and applied to the actual environment and verified through experiments.

  • In this paper a remote monitoring and control system using SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems is proposed. The local remote system by RS-232 or RS-485 communication code or the wide remote system by modems is used for conventional remote monitoring & control system for UPSs. But recently because of communication cost and long distance the system is changed to remote control systems through internet and information communication network. And serial communication method by RS-232 or RS-485 is used between agent and UPSs. In this study. we designed and developed the system which is able to control UPSs and to monitor errors. statuses and actual values transmitted from UPS through internet.

  • 비대면 의료시스템의 확대로 간호사의 업무 경감 및 효율성을 높이기 위해서 도입되는 원격수액모니터링 장치의 사용성평가를 수행하였다. 원격 수액 모니터링은 수액 측정시술과 분석, 오차 교정기술, 전송기술 등 다양한 기술이 융복합되어 있다. 사용자가 사용하는 범위와 얻고자 하는 정보, 조절 장치 등 사용범위가 넓으며 제품을 평가하는 요소도 다양하다. 따라서 평가를 통해 제품을 개선하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 원격수액모니터링 시스템장치를 제품의 안정성, 조작성, 만족도의 3개 영역에서 20개의 사용성평가를 실시하여 상용화를 위한 제품개선에 도움을 주고자 정량적인 지표를 개발하였다. 적외선 방식과 로드셀 방식의 수액모니터링 장치를 통해 수행하였으며, 안정성에서는 장치의 폴대고정 등 설치작업에 대해 차이가 있었으며, 조작성과 정확성에 대해서는 높은 만족도를 나타내었다. 제품의 만족도에서는 로드셀 장치의 만족도가 대체로 높게 나타났다.

  • 전 세계적으로 모든 해양 환경에서 발견되는 미세플라스틱이 환경 문제로 대두되면서 해양 미세플라스틱을 모니터링 하기 위한 연구가 국내외적으로 활발히 수행되고 있다. 최근 국외에서는 대규모의 실시간 관측이 가능한 원격탐사 기술을 해양 플라스틱 모니터링에 적용하기 위한 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 국내에서 해양 미세플라스틱 원격탐사 관련 연구는 매우 미비한 실정이며 중대형 해양 플라스틱 원격탐사 연구만 일부 수행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내와 국외에서 수행된 해양 플라스틱 원격탐사와 관련된 대표적인 연구사례를 통해 국내외 연구 동향을 파악하고, 해양 미세플라스틱 모니터링 시 원격탐사 기술의 적용 가능성에 대해 고찰하여 앞으로 국내에서의 연구 방향성에 대해 제안하고자 한다.

  • 자율운항선박(MASS : Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships)은, 고도의 자율도를 가지고, 계획된 경로를 따라 자율 운항하지만, 필요시 육상원격제어센터(SRCC : Shore Remote Control Center)에서 선박의 운항에 직접 개입할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 자율운항선박의 운항을 육상에서 모니터링하고 유사시 원격제어하는 역할을 담당할 육상원격제어사(SRCO : Shore Remote Control Officer)의 교육훈련에 필요한 시뮬레이터 시스템의 운용개념과 이를 가능하게 하기 위한 요구기능에 대해 검토하였다. 육상원격제어 시뮬레이터 시스템은, 다수의 자율운항선박의 운항상황을 모니터링하는 Monitoring Station, 유사시 특정 선박의 운항에 직접 원격개입하는 Control Station의 기능을 모의하도록 하였고, 시뮬레이션 종합통제실, 자율운항선박 운항상황 모의 시뮬레이터, 그리고 주변의 유인선 운항을 모의하기 위한 통항선 시뮬레이터 등으로 구성하였다. 기능적으로는, 육상에서 선박을 직접 제어하기 위하여 원격으로 개입하는 ESRC(Emergency Situation for Remote Control) 상황을 정의하여 이러한 상황을 모의할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • The research for development of remote monitoring and control systems composed three stages of research categories. At the first stage, we decided the suitable instrumentation devices for interface between H/W systems and waste water treatment facility. And at the second stage, we developed the software package for remote monitoring and data transmission system including data receipt system via wired telephone line. At the final stage we developed local control system for auto-process control of waste water treatment facilities. Remote Water Quality Warning System Using Water Fleas

  • Hardware for monitoring the water quality using water fleas is developed. Water flea is a frequently used biological sensor for monitoring the water quality. Water fleas quickly respond to the incoming toxic water by changing their activity when they are exposed. By measuring the activity of water fleas, the incoming toxic water is instantly detected. So far the measurement of activity of water fleas has been done with a system equipped with both a light source of LED and a light detector of photo transistor. Water flea itself is, however, sensitive to light resulting in incorrect response and the system has two inconvenient separate parts of the light source and the detector. This paper suggests a system using a CCD camera instead of a light source and a detector. The suggested system processes the image data from the CCD camera in real time without any delay. The developed system becomes a part of the remote water monitoring embedded system.

  • Polishing work of a free-curved surface die demands simple and repetitive operations but requires a considerable amount of time for high precision. In out previous study, to reduce the polishing time and solve the problem of the shortage of skilled workers, the automatic polishing system was developed. However, in the polishing process of die, workers have to stay still in factory to monitor the polishing process for a long time in the poor environment. Therefore, this study proposes the remote operation and monitoring system of the automatic polishing robot. The developing system offer worker monitoring functions and teleoperating functions, as following: system state check, manual manipulation mode, automatic mode, manual teaching mode, automatic teaching mode, simulation by virtual manufacturing device. And automatic teaching system is developed to easily obtain a teaching data.

대형 풍력터빈을 위한 무인 원격감시시스템 개발 (Development of Unmanned Remote Monitoring System for MW Class Wind Turbines)

  • The scale of wind turbines has continuously increased over the last decade. Especially, the rapid growth of the rotor diameter has brought about the increase of the tower height and the load on the rotor blade, as can be seen in the case of a 5MW class wind turbine with 126m rotor diameter. This trend means the increasing possibility of system failure. In addition to that, it is impossible for human operators to stay and manage all the turbines in the case of a large-scale wind farm. For these reasons, the operation and maintenance technology is getting more importance. In this paper, we present an unmanned remote monitoring system for MW class wind turbines and its application to YeungHeung wind test bed.
