Remote Control System for the Door Lock by the Unified Modem with the Wireless and Power Line Modem (전력선/무선 통합 모뎀을 이용한 Door Lock의 원격 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper we proposed the remote control system for the door lock by the unified modem with the wireless and the power line modem. We developed the management system program between the door-lock system and the proposed unified modem. The infrared communication system was used between the Door-Lock system and the power line modem. With the unified developed modem and the Door-Lock system, it is possible to control remotely the developed system in the internet service area.

  • In recent years, the PV plant is gradually increasing in korea and has begun to focus on PV system O&M(Operation and Management). The legacy PV system can hardly be gathering realtime information. That is why it is difficult for the facility to respond immediately to situations in which problems arise. This leads to economic losses due to reduced power generation. In this study, we implemented an RMC(Remote Maintenance Control) gateway that supports multi-area equipment(inverters, junction boxes, switchboards, environmental sensors) that are not limited to specific manufacturers. It provides a function to visualize the collected data. Users can easily check the power generation and operation status of PV system equipment. In the future, we will develop an algorithm capable of analyzing beta factors that cause equipment performance degradation, parts aging, and deterioration using data collected from facilities. We intend to use this algorithm as a fundamental technology for O&M by transplanting it to the RMC gateway.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented the DCS(Distributed Control System) terminal remote monitoring board for build total unified management system based wireless communication on automatic control system fields. Also, it tested and evaluated for check an usability and performance. The board monitored relay and fuse status at power management room real-time. Therefore, we expected economic effects extend relay life-time that pre-detected errors and prevented relay fault.

  • The existing remote control system have some inherent disadvantage of direct control in the limit range. In some special cases, for example, a power apparatus, an unmanned factory, a nuclear factory, a security management system, the tele-operation is needed to control remote robot without limit space. This field is based on the Internet communication. Because the Internet is constructed all over the world. And it is possible that we control remote mobile robot in the long distance. In this paper, we developed a remote control system. This system is divided into two primary parts. These are local site and remote site. There are the moving robot and web server in the remote site and there is the robot control device in local site. The moving robot is moved by two stepper motors and the robot control device consists of SA-1100 micro controller and embedded Linux. And this controller is an embedded system. Public personal computer which is connected the Internet is used for the web server. The web server provides the mobile robot control interface program to the remote controller and captures the image for feedback information. In the whole system, a robot control device is connected with moving robot and web server through the Internet. So the operator can control the moving robot in the distance through the Internet.

  • This paper presented the development trend of UPS and SPS system has focused on large scale system and more convenient system to maintenance and management. In this paper, we proposed low price and high performance SPSs which can de voltage regulation, harmonic reduction, and capable capacity extension in power. These SPSs are composed by two SPSs in their functional structure, one is power control part including voltage regulation and instant voltage compensaton. The others part is web based monitoring and trend management part for more convenient to SPS operator.

  • In this paper, an simple load management system was introduced. This system is composed of Main Controller, DTU(Dispersion Terminal Unit), Power Line Modem and HMI (Human Machine Interface) program. To control distant loads, network function using powerline communication is implemented in DTU, with HMI program, the untrained users are able to operate system easily. Additionally using the Powerline, the cost and time of installation is saved. The system performance was proved in a several experiments.

  • In this paper, we propose the protection coordination algorithm using communication methode based on IEC 61850. The communication protocol in power distribution management system has been issued by IEC standard, IEC61850 of them, which was made for substation automation system, has researched to apply into power distribution system, even though the standard is not a suitable for the system. In smart distribution management system' launched in 2009, the communication network based on the ethernet network for IEC 61850 has been designed to apply the self-healing concept, which is to perform the system protection through the communication between remote terminal units(RTU) according to the standard. However, it is first time to apply the scheme in the real. Thus, this paper proposed the protection algorithm and consideration for applying communication method and introduced the result of demonstration.

  • Remote management and control system for LMDS wireless CATV network which is being developed at SK Telecom is developed. This system is composed of central control division located at head center and remote units for remote transceivers equipped in base stations and repeaters. It monitors the state of the remote transceivers and controls the operations using PSTN for iterface. Remote transceivers whould be equipped in pairs, and the operations are exchanged automatically in case of emergency situations. the remote units are designed not only to perform commands form central control division, bet to inform emergency situations such as disorder and power failure. This system works well, which is established at Central research center in SK Telecom with remote units such as BTX, PPTX, and PPRX. This system could be utilized in other applications requiring remote control through sligh modifications.

  • Nowaday in the ubiquitous environment, the real-time remote control and monitoring technology for power grids or a similar system provides service as a sharable and independent of time-location for various contents to get from sensors or cameras of the system. In this paper, we introduce the real-time monitor and control system for photovoltaic system to evaluate the system performance and to keep the maintenance by using IMS (Internet Management System). To prove the pragmatic use of IMS, we applied the IMS in water management system. We designed feasibly to control on remote site by web-browser. It guarantees a continuity of real-time information transferring by IMS.

  • The recent rapid growth of air conditioning load has become a major reason of peak load increase in summer. In connection with this, we surveyed the load management projects of utilities world-wide and their detailed activities. This study is to develop a remote load control system using computer and radio communications. We finished the field-test of this system on August 1995 in Seoul area. During the field-test, the remote load control of air conditioners was proved to be well-timed. Two control modes, group control and all control, are available for the user to select. The transmission reliability of the load control signal was very good and the functions of system hardware as well as the software were excellent. So we confirmed the applicability of the load control system including the paper communication network. In this paper, detailed information on the system functions and experimental results are described.
