선박 평형수는 해양 유기체와 함께 타 지역의 바다에 배출되며, 이는 해양 생태계 교란을 야기했다. 이 환경적 위험 요인을 제거하기 위하여 IMO에서는 모든 선박에 선박 평형수 처리 시스템(BWTS)의 장착을 의무화 하였다. 모니터링 시스템은 여러 해양에 흩어져 있는 선박으로부터 수집된 BWTS의 센서 정보를 분석함으로써 BWTS의 고장을 진단하고 예측한다. 본 논문은 위성 통신 비용을 고려한 BWTS 원격 모니터링 시스템의 통신 프레임웍에 대한 설계 및 구현을 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 랩뷰 프로그램에 의하여 안전하고 비용 절감을 위한 통신 모듈을 구현하였는데, 수집된 센서 정보는 RIO에서 수행되는 랩뷰 모듈을 통하여 암호화되고 압축되어 육지 통신 서버로 전송되며, 모니터링 가능하도록 복호화를 한다. 결과를 검증하기 위하여 수집된 센서 데이터를 모니터링 서버가 사용하기까지의 과정을 모니터링 하는 실험 모듈을 제작하였고, 모든 경위의 데이터 형식에 대하여 20번의 실험을 수행한 결과 기능성과 신뢰성에서 우수함을 증명하였다.

Low-cost microcomputer systems can be assembled which possess computing power, color display, memory, and storage capacity approximately equal to graphic workstactions. A low-cost, flexible, and user-friendly IBM/PC/XT/AT based image processing system has been developed and named as KMIPS(KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) Map and Image Processing Station). It can be easily utilized by the resource managers who are not computer specialists. This system can: * directly access Landsat MSS and TM, SPOT, NOAA AVHRR, MOS-1 satellite imagery and other imagery from different sources via magnetic tape drive connected with IBM/PC; * extract image up to 1024 line by 1024 column and display it up to 480 line by 672 column with 512 colors simultaneously available; * digitize photographs using a frame grabber subsystem(512 by 512 picture elements); * perform a variety of image analyses, GIS and terrain analyses, and display functions; and * generate map and hard copies to the various scales. All raster data input to the microcomputer system is geographically referenced to the topographic map series in any rater cell size selected by the user. This map oriented, georeferenced approach of this system enables user to create a very accurately registered(.+-.1 picture element), multivariable, multitemporal data sets which can be subsequently subsequently subjected to various analyses and display functions.

The wavelet and semivariogram analysis method are used to identify the city landscape and farmland landscape pattern on the 1m resolution IKONOS images. The results prove that wavelet method is a potential way for landscape pattern analysis. Compared to semivariogram analysis, Wavelet analysis can not only detect the overall spatial pattern, but also find multi-scale and direction structures. In this experiment, the wavelet analysis results indicate: (1) the city landscape image is mainly composed of three level structures whose spatial pattern characters appear at 2m, 16m, 128m and 256m accordingly; (2) the farmland landscape is mainly two scale spatial patterns appearing at the 2m, 128m and 256m. IKONOS Remote sensing, with the high spatial and spectral information, is a powerful tool that can use in many ecological systems research and sustainable management.

This paper describes remote control RS232 communication using internet service, safety of exchange data and internet traffic by Denial of Service Attacks. In case of Denial of service Attacks, it makes connection of internet service failed. So in this Paper, this solution was examined and implemented for receiving data in safety against Denial of Service Attacks by LabVIEW program of National Instruments.

Genetic algorithms (GA) is a well known technique that is capable of handling multiobjective functions and discrete constraints in the process of numerical optimization. Together with the Pareto ranking scheme, more than one possible solution can be obtained despite the imposed constraints and multi-criteria design functions. In view of this unique capability, the design of the log-periodic dipole antenna array (LPDA) using this special feature is proposed in this paper. This method also provides gain, front-back level and S parameter design tradeoff for the LPDA design in broadband application at no extra computational cost.

We proposed a new retrieval method for aerosol's real part of refractive index, optical thickness, and Angstrom exponent using POLDER's directional reflectance and polarization data. We showed that aerosol's real part of refractive index can be retrieved systematically using multi-directional PR(polarization and reflectance) diagrams in a single infrared band by our algorithm for the first time. We examined the retrieved results, by comparing with the simultaneously measured sky observation data at the study site and we obtained a reasonable agreement between them.

Signal is composed of the independent components that can describe itself. These components can distinguish itself from any other signals and be extracted by analysis itself. This algorithm is called Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and image signal is considered as linear combination of independent components and features that is the weighted vector of independent component. This algorithm is already used in order to extract the good feature for image classification and very effective In this paper, we'll explain the method of stereo matching using independent component analysis and show the experimental result.

실제적인 산업분야에서 실시간 처리는 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 LabVIEW를 이용하여 RS-485 직렬통신 기반 Modbus/RTU 프로토콜을 구현하였다. 토크(Torque) 센서와 전압/전류계로부터 측정값을 입력받기 위하여 Modbus/RTU 프로토콜을 구현하였다. 입력받은 토크 값, 전압, 전류 값을 이용하여 기계적인 손실을 계산할 수 있다. LabVIEW 툴을 이용하여 소스코드를 작성하였고, 이러한 소스코드는 실제 산업현장에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

In this paper, we describe implementation of personal media gateway (PMG) for applications over BcN networks. PMG is a TV based set-top terminal, which enables transmission of Full D1 high quality video and audio at the speed of maximum 2Mbps. It supports SIP protocol and QoS for the BcN networks. The hardware of the PMG consists of host module, audio/video codec processing module, DTMF module, and remote control I/O module. H.263 and MPEG4 software are implemented in DSP as codec for hi-directional communication and streaming, respectively. G.711 and Ogg-Vorbis are implemented as audio codec. We examined the quality of video using the Video Quality Test Equpment, which was developed by KT Convergence Lab. The experimental results show the video quality of MOS 4.1 and audio quality of MOS 4.3. We expect that PMG will be prospective business models, and create new customer value.
