Developement of Web-Based Circuit-Constructible remote Laboratory (회로구성이 가능한 인터넷 기반의 원격 실험실 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept and construction of a web-based bidirectional remote laboratory system. In this configuration, students build and test circuits using internet at home, and the circuit components and experimental equipments at the school are interconnected following student's design. This means that it is possible to choose components, build circuits, connect experiment equipments, control the equipment. and receive measurement results at home in real-time. Labview and Java are used to control this system efficiently and to provide user-friendly environments. Computer-based function generator, DMM, and oscilloscope are used and switch module is used to change interconnections. It was found that a system adopting computer-based instruments, which include PXI/CompactPCI modules and PC plug-in board, provide better performance than that adopting stand-alone instruments connected with GPIB. It is believed that, if this system is installed, the real experiments, not the virtual experiments based on simulation, can be done at home effectively, resulting in revolutional change in engineering education.

  • In this study, the new model of presentation remote controller in which has improved the conventional function and deteceted the level of human's tension on a real time basis is suggested and tested. Existing presentation remote controller was just used turning the pages. But new model controls presentation and check tension level on real time using the smart phone's bluetooth interface. The proposed system is comprised with the PPG (Photo-Plethysmo-Graphy) sensor, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules. The configured system is to process (within 150 ms) the pulse signals of the presenter and stored the data. As a result, it can check and make up for the week presentation part and used as sources for improving self-confidence. This is the result obtained from the process of capstone design irregular course for 20 weeks of a graduate-to-be in four-year college.

  • Recently the number of lectures of offered as part of distance education courses is increasing due to the necessity of continuing education in this era of rapidly changing technologies. To promote this, Web-based distance education systems have been developed and put into practical use. To step further, we propose a virtual space, distance education platform called interactive virtual laboratory. The proposed system is expected to overcome many obstacles in performing the unit operations laboratory at the current setting. The server/client system implementation was programmed with ASP and Visual Basic. The availability of simple and efficient technological supports for dissemination and remote use of virtual lab systems supports more experimental practices regardless of the number of participating students and their locations. Variety of instruments, process equipments and lab procedures are being added to make it a complete package of virtual lab fur undergraduate unit operations course.

Robot-based Coding Education System with Step by Step Software Training

  • Recently, the perception of software education, which had been considered as a field of education for programmers in this field, is changing in response to recent changes with the trend of 4th industrial revolution. Major counties competitively invest in software education and the target age group for software education is also on the decline. However, the traditional text-based programing languages such as JAVA and Python, have a high entry barrier. To address the shortcoming, a variety of methods have been recently proposed for the effective software education for kindergarten and elementary school student. In this paper, we propose a robot-based coding education system with steps for coding education for effective software education. The proposed method is divided into three stages, depending on the level of the student being trained in the software coding education to interact with robots. The proposed stages consists of unplugged coding using a remote control, coding using a graphic-based programming language and text- based coding. We conducted an experiment with performing separate missions while providing propoer tutorials for each stage to verify the effectiveness of the proposed software education system.

  • Recently, the need to introduce smart farms is increasing in order to solve the problems of intensifying competition such as a decrease in rural population due to aging, a decrease in production, and the inflow of foreign agricultural products, and accordingly, the need for education is increasing. This paper is a study on the implementation of an Android-based IoT smart farm for education so that it can be used in a real environment by reducing the farm's smart farm system. To confirm that Android-based education can be applied in a real environment using the IoT smart farm for education, experiments were performed in automatic mode and manual mode using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and server/client communication methods. In the automatic mode, the current status can be checked in real time by receiving all data, and in the manual mode, commands are transmitted in real time using the received sensor data and remote control is performed. As a result of the experiment, it was possible to understand the characteristics of each communication method, and it was confirmed that remote monitoring and remote control of the smart farm using the Android App was possible.

  • In this paper, the instrument for scientific education in elementary school is developed with the application of basic robot technology for coming IT future world. Particularly, a kind of robot game to fun a race with each other is planed to give a motive or interest in scientific education. This robot game is played with two robots per player, One robot is moved wirelessly with a remote controller and the other robot is moved automatically with intelligence given by computer program made by a player. This game system will be in spotlight as multi-objective educational system not only to teach basic technology of IT, but also to improve the ability for logical and creative thought in elementary school students.

Food Service Management in Elementary School in Chunnam Province (전남 초등학교의 급식유형별 급식관리 실태)

  • This study was undertaken to assess the school flood service management and its perception by dietitians. Questionnaries were developed and answered by 162 dietitians in elementary schools in Chollanam-do. The duration of the flood service system was the longest in remote areas followed by rural and urban areas. The average number of persons served a day was 680 per dietitians. More than three schools were supervised by 52.4% of dietitians. Lack of facilities, including restrooms for the flood service personnel and storage compartments for convenience products were indicated. Regardless of the type of school flood service system, the dietitians pointed out that they urgency needed gas fryers, gas griddles and vegetable cutters, which would be helpful in preparing fried flood for the students. Despite the dietitians' eagerness to teach nutritional education, 80.9% of the respondents did not provide nutritional education to the students, because of the lack of class roomtime. It was suggested that the teaching nutritional education by dietitians was desperately needed for the improvement of health and the nutritional status of school children.

  • This study examines the paradigm shift in vocational training with the introduction of remote training, which has been conducted fragmentarily by project, to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes the operation's problems and limitations by dividing the remote training process from assessment to budget execution by subject, stage, and procedure. Additionally, it collects various stakeholders' opinions to propose improvement plans for the vocational training support system to effectively respond to the paradigm shift in vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era. The study assumes that the assessment of training institutions and the training process should be innovated in a way that can accommodate the direction of vocational training in the digital and non-face-to-face era instead of focusing on traditional collective training. Based on this premise, it suggests ways to enhance the pre-approval screening system and the training institution assessment system.

  • This paper presents a design and implementation of cyber-school system using object modeling technique and web groupware. The system design method based on object modeling techniques reduce cyber-school construction effort and cost with reusing of modules. The system is a kind of web group application based on WWW that allow members who located on remote computer to do cooperative learning and to communicate with other students and teachers independent of time and location. In this system we use Linux operating system for efficient development on real education field. and we can reduce cyber-school development effort arid cost With this system.
