  • Nowadays, we can easily access a remote database as well as a local database with HTML forms. Although implementing a database application with HTML forms is much simpler than implementing it with a proprietary graphical user Interface system, HTML forms and CGI programs still must be coded. We implemented a software tool that automatically generates the SQL statements that create a database for an application, the forms that are used as a user interface, and the Java servlets that retrieve the data requested through the forms. The database tables to be treated and the forms to be generated are determined by the class diagram for the application. Our software tool, which we call WebSiteGen, thus simplifies the implementation of a Web-based database application.

  • We present in this paper a novel mid and long term power load prediction method using temporal pattern mining from AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) data. Since the power load patterns have time-varying characteristic and very different patterns according to the hour, time, day and week and so on, it gives rise to the uninformative results if only traditional data mining is used. Also, research on data mining for analyzing electric load patterns focused on cluster analysis and classification methods. However despite the usefulness of rules that include temporal dimension and the fact that the AMR data has temporal attribute, the above methods were limited in static pattern extraction and did not consider temporal attributes. Therefore, we propose a new classification method for predicting power load patterns. The main tasks include clustering method and temporal classification method. Cluster analysis is used to create load pattern classes and the representative load profiles for each class. Next, the classification method uses representative load profiles to build a classifier able to assign different load patterns to the existing classes. The proposed classification method is the Calendar-based temporal mining and it discovers electric load patterns in multiple time granularities. Lastly, we show that the proposed method used AMR data and discovered more interest patterns.

  • We observed 88 csses of primary lung cancer clinically and statistically, which had been experienced at the dept. of thoracic surgery, St. Mary's Hospital, Catholic Medical College, during the period of 7 years from January, 1964 to December, 1970. The results obtained were as follows: 1) Peak incidence of age was from 5th decade to 7th decade (86.4%), the youngest being 25 and the oldest 76. The ratio of male to female was 4.9: 1. 2) Squamous cell carcinomas showed high resectability (68.7%) and short clinical duration (188 days). Adenocarcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma showed low resectability (33.3%, 36.4%) in spite of the more shorter clinical duration(120 days, 112 days, respectively) than squamaus cell carcinoma. 3) Positivity (above class III) in brochocopic cytology was 70.3%, and 44.8% in fresh sputum cytology. 4) Other combined pulmonary diseases (emphysema. chronic bronchitis) were noted in about one half of bronchographied 66 cases and which were considered as factors to contribute ventilatory function of lung. 5) Among 88 cases, twelve cases refused operation and 34 cases(44.7%) were operated. Seventeen cases(22.3%) out of the 34 thoracotomies were resected, 7 with lobectomy and 10 with pneumonectomy and remaining 17 cases were unresectable. 6) Histopathological findiugs of resected 17 cases were squamous cell carcinomas (11 cases), adenocarcinoll1a(1 case), undifferentiated carcinumas (4 cases) and undetermined carcinoma(l case). 7) There's no opelative mortality. Among resected 17 cases, [; cases are still alive(4 years, 3 years & 2 mo, 2 yearo, 13 mo., respectively), 7 case were expired (3 of these from remote metastasis), and remaining 5 cases were unable to follow up.

  • We propose a graphical object query language called OGPL (Odysseus Graphical Query Language) for Odysseus object databases. By employing simple graphical notations, OGQL provides a user friendly database interface for object databases. OGQL provides a simple graphical notation for advanced features of the object queries such as path expressions including cycles (cyclic queries). Cyclic queries have not been handled in the previous graphical query languages because of their complexity and ambiguity in devising appropriate graphical notations. GOQL also provides a graphical notation for inheritance hierarchy. Since OGQL has been implemented in Java and JDBC standard interface, users can access the remote databases in a web environment and the system has platform-independent architecture.

  • Regularized Blind Deconvolution is a problem applicable in degraded images in order to bring the original image out of blur. Multichannel blind Deconvolution considered as an optimization problem. Each step in the optimization is considered as variable splitting problem using an algorithm called Alternating Minimization Algorithm. Each Step in the Variable splitting undergoes Augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) / Bregman Iterative method. Regularization is used where an ill posed problem converted into a well posed problem. Two well known regularizers are Tikhonov class and Total Variation (TV) / L2 model. TV can be isotropic and anisotropic, where isotropic for L2 norm and anisotropic for L1 norm. Based on many probabilistic model and Fourier Transforms Image deblurring can be solved. Here in this paper to improve the performance, we have used an adaptive regularization filtering and isotropic TV model Lp norm. Image deblurring is applicable in the areas such as medical image sensing, astrophotography, traffic signal monitoring, remote sensors, case investigation and even images that are taken using a digital camera / mobile cameras.

  • A vibration monitoring system for a small class of wind turbine (W/T) is established and operated. The monitoring system consists of monolithic integrated chip accelerometer for vibration monitoring, anemometers for wind data acquisition and auxiliary sensors for atmospheric data. Using the monitoring system, vibration response of a 6kW W/T generator is investigated. Acceleration data of the W/T tower under various operation condition is acquired in real time using LabVIEW and is remotely transferred from the test site to the laboratory in school by internet. Vibration state of the tower structure is diagnosed within the operating speed range. Resonance frequency range of the test model is investigated with the wind speed data of the test site.

  • In this paper, we have designed a Home Networking System using an embedded linux board. The system based on the World-Wide-Web is composed of three parts - a Server, a Client and a Simulator. The Home Networking Server is built in an embedded board using an embedded linux kernel. A web-server and Home Networking Server Seryice Demon programming with a Jaya-Language is included in the board. Clients can connect to the server board using a web-browser in the desktop computer, PDA or any other machines which include a web-browser. For this purpose, we made the client program using a Java-Applet. So, the clients who connect to the server for the control of the applications, download the class-file and execute the client-program in the web-browser. So, the clients don't need any other programs to control the applications from a remote place. The size of server board is very small (86.3$\times$74mm), which makes it very useful not only for the Home-Networking-System but also in many other fields, e.g., embedded robot control system, etc. Using an embedded board instead of a desktop computer is good for a simple network environment and it occupies only a small space to make the system.

  • The real-time video education is used as an effective method of operating classes that replaces face-to-face education of instructors and learners in remote areas. However, the existing video call and video conferences system is mainly used, and this is effective in linguistic education because it focuses on lecture through video, but it is not utilized in other education. In this paper, we propose a design model of real-time video system that can improve the effectiveness of science curriculum and mathematics education by providing the functions that can be utilized during class by improving limitations of image - oriented image education.

  • Purpose: Due to the coronavirus infection-19 (COVID) pendemics, all educational institutions were required to provide full non-face-to-face real-time education, and fire officials were required to provide fire-fighting education by applying non-face-to-face education. In this difficult situation, the National Fire Service Academy tries to find the direction of the non-face-to-face real-time education and suggest ways to improve it through a survey of the status of non-face-to-face real-time education conducted by the NFSA to fire officials. Method: A survey was conducted on fire officials under the theme of "Consciousness Survey for Improving the Quality and Specialization of Non-face-to-face Real-Time Remote Education" and an in-depth analysis was conducted based on the results. Result & Conclusion: First, professors or educational operators shall actively utilize remote education programs suitable for educational characteristics by utilizing various programs. Second, a dedicated notebook for non-face-to-face training should be provided to provide an educational environment where all learners can participate in the training without difficulty. Third, in the case of education and training that requires the use of equipment due to the nature of fire officials' education and training, it is necessary to consider it as a non-face-to-face training place by arranging educational equipment at each fire station. Fourth, it is hard to expect a satisfactory educational effect to cope with practical education with theoretical education. Therefore, facilities and programs that enable non-face-to-face real-time hands-on training should be developed. It is worth considering the proper combination of face-to-face education while maintaining the social distance as much as possible until such non-face-to-face training is possible. Fifth, non-face-to-face education is considered to have high eye fatigue due to the light and electromagnetic waves of the computer screen, and as time goes by, the concentration level decreases. Therefore, it is necessary to form an education time to reduce the eye fatigue of learners and increase concentration through proper class and rest time. Finally, professors should operate a learner participation-oriented education that allows professors and learners to interact rather than one-sided knowledge transfer education. In addition, technical problems of non-face-to-face remote education should be thoroughly prepared through preliminary system checks to ensure that education is not disrupted.
