  • Remote sensor systems are utilized in a few applications, including military, restorative, ecological and family unit.   • In response to diverse external stimuli, sensory receptors generate spiking nerve signals. These generated signals are transmitted to the brain along the neural pathway to advance to the stage of recognition or perception, and then they reach the area of discrimination or judgment for remembering, assessing, and processing incoming information. We review research trends in neuromorphic sensory perception technology inspired by biological sensory perception functions. Among the various senses, we consider sensory nerve decoding technology based on sensory nerve pathways focusing on touch and smell, neuromorphic synapse elements that mimic biological neurons and synapses, and neuromorphic processors. Neuromorphic sensory devices, neuromorphic synapses, and artificial sensory memory devices that integrate storage components are being actively studied. However, various problems remain to be solved, such as learning methods to implement cognitive functions beyond simple detection. Considering applications such as virtual reality, medical welfare, neuroscience, and cranial nerve interfaces, neuromorphic sensory recognition technology is expected to be actively developed based on new technologies, including combinatorial neurocognitive cell technology.

초등학교 과학수업에서 과학동시를 활용하는 전략의 개발과 적용 (The Development and Application of Strategies using Children's Science Verses in Elementary Science Teaching)

  • This study plans to develop strategies using children's verse in science education and investigate the effects of instruction using children's verses on the attitude toward science. The study tried to determine strategies using children's science verse in order to find out their value. For the purpose of this, two classes of the 6th grade were selected in an elementary school for tests. The results from this research showed that strategies using children's verse in science education were developed and applied in teaching/learning purposes as well as in the area of literature. A strategy for remembering was applied widely. A strategy for understanding scientific principles and for quest methods, writing children's science verses directly helped in scientific conceptual formation. Instruction using children's science verses had a positive effect on the attitudes toward science. Students maintained positive attitudes throughout instruction that used children's science verses. In conclusion, instruction using children's science verses can be applied to science education, and the attitudes toward science and learning achievements can be improved.

신경정신질환의 컴퓨터모델 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Developing Computer Models of Neuropsychiatric Diseases)

  • 뇌공학 분야에서 개발된 연상기억의 능력을 가지는 Hopfield 신경망을 구성하고, 신경정신질환 중에서 시냅스의 손실과 관련이 되어서 생기는 치매와 일부 정신분열증의 모델로 변형시키기 위하여 인공신경망의 시냅스를 Hoffman의 시냅스 제거법칙과 무작위 방법에 따라 제거하면서, 그에 따른 기억능력의 변화를 관찰하였다. 구성된 컴퓨터모델에서 기억능력의 저하는 시냅스의 감소가 상당히 진행되어야 나타났으며, Hoffman의 시냅스 제거법칙에 따랐을 때는 80% 제거를 기점으로 급격하게 나타났으며, 무작위 제거시는 더 적은 시냅스 제거율인 40% 제거 때부터 점진적으로 나타나는 양상을 보였다. 컴퓨터 모델의 기억력저하 양상이 실제환자에서 관찰되는 기억력저하 양상을 설명할 수 있기 위해서는 증상이 발현되는 시점의 시냅스 소실의 정도는 얼마나 되는지, 또한 시냅스의 소실은 어떤 규칙에 의해 일어나는지 아니면 무작위로 일어나는지에 관한 생물학적 실험의 필요성이 부각되었다. 이와 같이 컴퓨터모델을 이용하여 모의실험을 하고 연구의 방향을 잡은 후에 생물학적 실험으로 검증해 나간다면, 매우 효율적인 이론과 실험의 공조체제를 이루어 신경정신질환의 이해를 도울 수 있을 것이다.

반정량 식품섭취빈도조사의 응답에 관한 인지면접연구 (Response Experiences with a Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire : A Qualitative Study using Cognitive Interview)

  • The purpose of this research was to understand how individuals reflect on the frequency and quantity of foods that they consume. Participants selected 5 males and 15 females aged 30 years or older were first interviewed on the frequency of their food consumption. Then based on this data, they were given a cognitive interview using the method of verbal proving. The individual cognitive interviews were recorded with consent while being conducted after complete approval by the Seoul National University Institution Review Board. The recorded material was evaluated using a thematic analysis after transcribing them into text. By analyzing stages of reflection, the major barriers to make the device difficult are revealed: 1) More difficulty in remembering events over the course of a full year due to diversification in the types of food that people consume 2) difficulty calculating the average for seasonal foods 3) difficulty estimating the amount of consumption from the photos presented 4) difficulty estimating amount of consumption from the quantity presented 5) difficulty processing foods that people think are healthy and foods are unhealthy simultaneously 6) difficulty having to consider foods where target food goes in as an ingredient; 7) difficulties arising from having to increase frequency when the amount consumed is higher than the quantity that is presented 8) difficulty having to combine the frequency and quantity of each food item when numerous foods are clustered into one category. These findings show that the less participants were involved in cooking, the more diverse their eating habits were, and the more they tried to adhere to rules of filling out the questionnaire, the more it was difficult for them to come up with an answer to the question being asked. It therefore seems necessary to construct a Food Frequency questionnaire that is attentive to these problems that arise from the recall stages.

  • 본 연구진에서 이번에 개발한 '팔도강산2'는 노인용 기능성게임으로서 2011년에 개발한 '팔도강산1'(팔걸이와 발판을 이용하여 2인이 걷는 PC 운동게임)의 후속 작이며 걷기운동에 노인들의 인지, 신체, 심리 기능을 추가한 게임이다. 현대생활에서의 장보기(몰워킹)를 게임 속에서 구현하였으며, 70년대의 재래시장을 배경으로 기억한 물품을 사오는 장보기 걷기 운동 게임이다. 유사한 맥락으로 걷기가 어려운 노인과 장애인용으로 미니게임도 2종 개발하였다. 아산 노인종합복지관에서 65세이상 고령자 219명을 대상으로 실험하여 효과성을 테스트한 결과 게임 플레이가 기억력, 집중력, 활력도에 긍정적인 효과가 있다고 평가되었다.

캐릭터 활용 패션브랜드에 대한 소비자행동 분석 (An Analysis of the Consumer's Behavior on the Fashion Brands Applying the Characters)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the consumer's behavior on the brands applying the characters by gender, age and residential district, and then to propose the future planning of brands applying the characters and distribution strategies. From Junior on middle school to forty-year olds were selected for this study and areas were grouped to five for comparing the residential distinction. The questionnaire was consisted with 25 questions. Nominal scale and 5-interval scale were used for analysis. The SPSS 12.0 was used to analyze the technical statistics such as average, frequency, t-test, ANOVA, and $x^2$. The results of this study were as follows : 1) The characters influenced on remembering the brand's name regardless gender, agen and residential district. 2) When consumer bought the brand with character, the most important factor is the brand name recognition. 3) It would be desirable to use the one or two mixed methods which express the characters on the clothes. 4) When they distribute the character brands, they would supply more feminine characters in 3rd district, more manly one in 4th district and less quantities in the 3rd and 4th district for lowering inventory. The next must be follow to succeed the character using strategy of fashion brands. It is needed to segment the target for new character creation of specific generation, and to grasp the point of the trend which oriented by the target, and to reflect what they like and what they feel sympathy on character image and brand concept.

증명학습에 대한 학생들의 성향과 GSP를 활용한 증명학습 (Students' attitudes toward learning proofs and learning proofs with GSP)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 증명학습에 대한 학생들의 성향과 학생들이 증명학습에서 느끼는 어려운 점들을 조사하고, 역동적인 기하 소프트웨어인 The Geometer's Sketchpad의 활용이 어떻게 학생들의 증명학습을 도울 수 있는지 탐구하는 것이다. 2개 고등학교의 117명 9학년 학생들이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 사전 설문 조사 결과에 의하면 증명학습에 대해서 전체 응답자(116명) 중 16%만이 긍정적인 태도를 보여준 반면 50% 이상의 학생들이 부정적인 태도를 보여주었다. 증명학습에서 가장 어려운 점이 무엇인지를 묻는 문항에 '여러 종류의 정리, 정의, 공준 등을 암기 및 기억하는 것'이라고 응답한 비율이 가장 높게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해서 The Geometer's Sketchpad의 사용이 학생들의 증명학습에 대한 흥미를 유발하고 이해를 발달시키는데 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Remembering Disasters: the Resilience Approach

  • The aim of this paper is to show how the paradigm of disaster resilience may help reorienting urban planning policies in order to mitigate various types of risks, thanks to carefully thought action on heritage and conservation practices. Resilience is defined as the "capacity of a social system to proactively adapt to and recover from disturbances that are perceived within the system to fall outside the range of normal and expected disturbances." It relies greatly on risk perception and the memory of catastrophes. States, regions, municipalities, have been giving territorial materiality to collective memory for centuries, but this trend has considerably increased in the second half of the 20th century. This is particularly true regarding the memory of disasters: for example, important traces of catastrophes such as urban ruins have been preserved, because they were supposed to maintain some awareness and hence foster urban resilience - Berlin's Gedachtniskirche is a well-known example of this policy. Yet, in spite of preserved traces of catastrophes and various warnings and heritage policies, there are countless examples of risk mismanagement and urban tragedies. Using resilience as a guiding concept might change the results of these failed risk mitigation policies and irrelevant disaster memory processes. Indeed, the concept of resilience deals with the complexity of temporal and spatial scales, and with partly emotional and qualitative processes, so that this approach fits the issues of urban memory management. Resilience might help underlining the complexity and the subtlety of remembrance messages, and lead to alternative paths better adapted to the diversity of risks, places and actors. However, when it is given territorial materiality, memory is almost always symbolically and politically framed and interpreted; Vale and Campanella had already outlined this political aspect of remembrance and resilience as a discourse. Resilience and the territorialization of memory are not ideologically neutral, but urban risk mitigation may come at that price.

대장암·위암 환자의 항암화학요법 시기에 따른 암 증상, 우울 및 삶의 질의 변화: 전향적 종단 연구 (Change of Cancer Symptom, Depression and Quality of Life based on Phases of Chemotherapy in Patients with Colorectal or Stomach Cancer: A Prospective Study)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify over time the changes of cancer symptom, depression and quality of life (QOL) among people who had stomach or colorectal cancer. Methods: Of the 74 participants recruited, 67 participated in the study. Participants were asked to complete three instruments at three different time. The instruments were the M. D. Anderson Symptom Inventory-Gastrointestinal Cancer Module, Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale, and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General. The questionnaires were administered before chemotherapy, toward the end of chemotherapy, and six months after the completion of adjuvant therapy. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and repeated measure ANOVA. Results: At the immediately after chemotherapy point, the most frequent symptom was lack of appetite, followed by fatigue and problem with remembering things. The mean score for depression was 8.27 with a prevalence of 31.3%. The mean score for quality of life was 61.88 out of 135. Repeated measures ANOVA showed a significant increase in cancer symptom (F=23.22, p<.001) and depression (F=35.29, p<.001) after chemotherapy. However, improvement was observed 6 months after the completion of chemotherapy. QOL (F=33.73, p<.001) also showed similar patterns as observed with cancer symptom and depression. Cancer symptom was the strongest predictor of QoL at pre-chemotherapy point. but depression was the strongest predictor at immediately after chemotherapy point. Conclusion: Chemotherapy is highly associated with cancer symptom, depression and QOL in patients with cancer. The nursing intervention is needed to relieve depression as well as cancer symptoms to improve QOL in patients undergoing chemotherapy from baseline to follow-up.
