Objectives : Since hypopigmentation is known to increase the risk of skin cancer, melanogenesis in the skin needs to be regulated. Here, we evaluated the melanogenesis stimulatory effects of a modified Goagium herbal remedy (HR) and HR+ox bile (Bos taurus domesticus) extract (OBE) to address hypopigmentation disorders. Methods : B16F10 melanoma cells were treated with different dosages of HR and HR+OBE for 24 to 48 h after 1 h of 10 nM ${\alpha}$-melanocyte stimulating hormone (${\alpha}$-MSH). After the treatment, cell viability, tyrosinase activity, melanin synthesis and the expression of genes related to melanin synthesis were measured and the regulation of the ${\alpha}$-MSH signalling through cAMP responding element binding protein (CREB) was determined. Results : HR and HR+OBE with the ranges of $15{\sim}100{\mu}g/mL$ did not affect cell viability in melanoma cells. The 1 h treatment of HR+OBE (50 and $100{\mu}g/mL$) potentiated the phosphorylation of CREB by enhancing ${\alpha}$-MSH signaling and its 24 h treatment increased CREB expression. Consistent with CREB potentiation, their treatment for 24 h, the expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MIFT), tyrosinase, tyrosinase related protein (TRP)-1 and TRP-2 were increased in realtime PCR. Ultimately, the 48 h treatment of HR+OBE (50 and $100{\mu}g/mL$) increased tyrosniase activity and melanin contents in the melanoma cells in comparison to the control. Conclusions : HR+OBE (50 and $100{\mu}g/mL$) increases melanin synthesis in B16F10 melanoma cells via the stimulation of tyrosinase activity and expression of MIFT, tyrosinase, TRP-1 and TRP-2. HR+OBE can be used as the a possible treatment for hypopigmentation of the skin.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the preventive and therapeutic efficacy of osteoarthritis using a Yeonsan-Ogye egg. so, we researched at effects of Yeonsan-Ogye egg extract on MIA-induced Osteoarthritis animal models. Methods : Yeonsan-Ogye egg extract was administered 500 mg/kg/day, 1000 mg/kg/day and 2000 mg/kg/day to SD-Rat for 2 weeks. After that, osteoarthritis was induced with $60mg/m{\ell}$ of monosodium iodoacetate (MIA) and futher administration was continued for 4 weeks. 3D imaging of cartilage patella were obtained using a Micro-CT system and the pathology change of knee was observed by H&E and safranin-O staining. The weight bearing ratio was measured by incapacitance test meter. MMP-2, MMP-9, COMP, CTX II, calcitonin and glycosaminoglycan level in serum were measured using a ELISA. Results : Micro-CT and Histopathological analysis showed the volume of the patella cartilage and the proteoglycan contents were increased in all groups. also weight bearing ratio was decreased in all groups compared with control group. Calcitonin production was increased in and 2000 mg/kg/day group and glycosaminoglycan production was increased in all groups. In addition, MMP-2, MMP-9, COMP and CTX II production were decreased in 1000 and 2000 mg/kg/day groups respectively in comparison with control. Conclusions : The results for Yeonsan-Ogye egg showed prevention and treatment efficacy against arthritis at serum and the cartilage. These results may be used a remedy for new korea medicine to ease the symptoms mentioned above. also, suggest that Yeonsan-Ogye egg can be used preventive and therapeutic material for osteoarthritis.

Objective: There are currently no disease-modifying medications or definite long-term sustainable interventions for patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), indicating an unmet treatment need. Our goal was to create a long-term sustainable intervention for PD patients that can be used in Korean medicine clinics. Methods: The Meridian Activation Remedy System (MARS) was created to stimulate a patient's 12 meridians and sinew channels using a combination of acupoint stimulation and exercise. The acupoints and motions used in MARS were selected through literature studies and expert advice. The methodologies were refined using observational and case studies. With slow and fast movements, the MARS intervention was intended to activate both slow- and fast-twitch muscle fibers. Intradermal acupuncture and motion that shift the center of gravity were employed to enhance the patient's balance and proprioception. In addition, the intervention included alternating movement exercises to address the complex cognitive decline commonly occurring in PD patients. Results: The following acupoints were chosen for the MARS intervention: bilateral Hegu (LI4), Houxi (SI3), Waiguan (TE5), Neiguan (PC6), Zhongchong (PC9), Yuji (LU10), Zusanli (ST36), Yanglingquan (GB34), Taichong (LR3), Kunlun (BL60), and Taixi (KI3). We also developed actions that can stimulate the body's 12 meridians. Conclusion: We developed the MARS intervention, which combines acupuncture and exercise, to address the unmet therapeutic needs of PD patients. We hope that with additional research, the MARS intervention can be set as an effective therapeutic program for PD patients.
The roots of Pseudarthria viscida (L.) Wight and Arnott. (Leguminosae) are used against various disorders in Indian systems of medicine, namely as anthelmintic, anti-inflammatory, cardiotonic, aphrodisiac, rejuvenating, tonic and as a remedy for cough, asthma, tuberculosis, diarrhoea and alternate fever. The present communication deals with the detailed pharmacognostical evaluation of the root sample using light and confocal microscopy, WHO recommended physico-chemical determinations and authentic phytochemical procedures. he physico-chemical, morphological and histological parameters presented in this paper may be proposed as parameters to establish the authenticity of P. viscida root and may possibly help to differentiate the drug from its other species.

The nonuniqueness of a mathematically rigorous solution to 2-dimensional inverse scattering problems is explained in a limiting view of the numerical calculations based on the spectral-domain moment method. It is illustrated that its theoretical uniqueness cannot be assured even by performing additional measurements of the scattered fields not only along multiple lines but also with angular/frequency-diversities. In a real situation, however, computational error and measurement noise are inevitable. Those limitations render it meaningless to controvert the existence of a theoretically rigorous solution. Hence the most practical issue is how to remedy the instability of its practically approximate solution.
Magnitude-frequency relationships are used in the design of dams, highway bridges, culverts, water supply systems, and flood control structures. In this paper, possible techniques for analyzing flood frequency at a site are presented. A currently used approach to flood frequency analysis is based on the concept of parametric statistical inference. In this analysis, the assumption is make that the distribution function describing flood data in known. However, such an assumption is not always justified. Even though many people have shown that the nonparametric method provides a better fit to the data than the parometric method and gives more reliable flood estimates. the noparpmetric method implies a small probability in extrapolation beyond the highest observed data in the sample. Therefore, a remedy is presented in this paper by introducing an estimator which mixes parametric and nonparametric density estimate.
Homoeopathy ws established in 1796 by German phsician Samuel Hahnemann$(1755{\sim}1843)$. This method is an alternative form of therapy involving treatment by natural remedies. The basic principles of homoeopathic medicine, 'similia similibus curentur', 'experimenta in homine sano', 'dose minimae' and 'unitas remedii', are founded upon the idea of illness as a disorder of the internal equilibrium at the physical, mental and psychic levels. The three distinguishing characteristics of homopathy are that remedies are prescribed on the totlity of a person's symptoms, that the remedy likely to cure a person is a dilution of that substance which would cause the same symptoms in a healthy person, and that remedies are prepared using mcirodoses of substances which are diluted and then vigorously shaken. This paper describes the historical background of homeopathy and compared with the basic principles of oriental medicine from the literature.
The purpose of this work is to find the medical treatment for the prevention of soft tissue injuries, such as soreness, swelling, and muscular tension through ice bandage, ice application, and ice pack. The research findings have been found in H university athletes of 615 : they are 1) among these, ice bandage treatment is the most successful remedy for soreness, swelling, and muscular tension; 2) ice application alleviate $40%{\sim}47%$ of soreness, but its application to swelling does not work satisfactorily; 3) ice pack to soreness and swelling can not be seen remarkable curing results and it's treatment to muscular tention reveals relatively well'and 4) ice bandage application will be widely used for easement of soreness, swelling, and muscular tention. From this work, it can be said that medical personnel should be prepared for ice bandage kit, for the athletes for the curing medication and for the enhancement of their competition.
Antifungal properties of methyl 2-benzimidazole carbamate(BMC) were investigated using 16 fungi. Cytotoxicity test of BMC revealed that the morphology of HeLa cells was considerably deformed even at the concentrations as low as 0.1 ppm. Minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) values of BMC for 7 fungi among the 16 tested ones were lower than $1.95{\times}10^{-4}{\mu}g/ml$, while Aspergillus flavus showed an MIC value higher than 1.0 ${\mu}g/ml$. Tolerance induction against BMC was successful only for Paecilomyces farinosus LAR10, contrary to the expectation that tolerance would be induced for the fungi having high MIC values such as Aspergillus niger ATCC 9642 and A. flavus ATCC 9643. Spore germination of A. niger ATCC 9642 was suppressed by BMC. However the mycelial growth of the fungus once germinated was not retarded at all by BMC up to 8 MIC. Addition of lanosterol provided a remedy for the reduced germination rate of A. niger ATCC 9642 spores.

Extinction limits and combustion temperatures in heat-recirculating excess enthalpy reactors employing both gas-phase and catalytic reaction have been examined previously, with and emphasis Reynolds number (Re) effects and possible application to microscale combustion devices. However, Re is not the only parameter needed to characterize reactor operation. In particular, the use of a fixed reactor size implies that residence time and Re cannot be adjusted independently. To remedy this situation, in this work geometrically similar reactors of different physical sizes were tested with the aim of independently determining the effects of Re and Da. It is found that the difference between catalytic and non-catalytic combustion limits narrow as scale decreases. Moreover, to assess the importance of wall thermal conductivity, reactors of varying wall thickness were studied. From these results the effect of scale on microscale reactor performance and implications for practical microcombustion devices are discussed.
