원자력발전소 안전계통용 고신뢰성 MVB 네트워크 구현 (Implementation of High-Reliable MVB Network for Safety System of Nuclear Power Plant)

  • The computer network plays an important role in modern digital controllers within a safety system of a nuclear power plant. For the reliable and realtime data communication between controllers, this paper proposes a modified high-reliable MVB(multi-function vehicle bus) as a main control network for a safety system of a nuclear power plant. The proposed network supports the state-based communication in order to ensure the deterministic communication latency, and very fast network recovery when the bus master fails compare to the standard MVB. This paper also shows the implementation results using a FPGA-based testbed.

높은 신뢰도의 네트워크 설계를 위한 GA 기반 두 단계 방법 (GA-based Two Phase Method for a Highly Reliable Network Design)

  • 일반적으로 네트워크 설계 문제는 네트워크의 크기가 늘어남에 따라 지수적으로 복잡도가 증가하여 전통적인 방법으로는 풀이하기 힘든 NP-hard 조합 최적화 문제 중의 하나로 분류될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 네트워크 신뢰도 제약을 고려하면서 네트워크 구축비용을 효과적으로 최소화하는, 높은 신뢰도의 네트워크 토폴로지 설계 문제를 풀기 위해 스패닝 트리를 효율적으로 표현할 수 있는 $Pr\ddot{u}fer$수(PN) 기반의 진화 연산법과 2-연결성을 고려하는 휴리스틱 방법으로 구성된 두 단계의 효율적인 해법을 제안한다. 즉, 먼저 스패닝 트리를 찾아내기 위해 진화 연산법 중에 보편적으로 널리 알려져 있는 유전자 알고리즘(GA)을 이용하고 그 다음으로 첫 번째 단계에서 발견한 스패닝 트리에 대해 최적의 네트워크 토폴로지를 찾기 위해서 2-연결성을 고려한 휴리스틱 방법을 적용한다. 마지막으로 수치예의 결과를 통해 제안한 해법의 성능에 대해서 살펴보도록 한다.

차세대 USN기반의 스마트 플랜트안전 프레임워크 개발 (SPSF : Smart Plant Safety Framework based on Reliable-Secure USN)

  • Recently process industries from oil and gas procedures and mining companies to manufactures of chemicals, foods, and beverages has been exploring the USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) technology to improve safety of production processes. However, to apply the USN technology in the large-scale plant industry, reliability and security issues are not fully addressed yet, and the absence of the industrial sensor networking standard causes a compatibility problem with legacy equipment and systems. Although this situation, process industry such as energy plants are looking for the secure wireless plant solution to provide detailed, accurate safety monitoring from previously hard-reach, unaccordable area. In this paper, SPSF (Smart Plant Safety Framework based on Reliable-Secure USN) is suggested to fulfill the requirements of high-risk industrial environments for highly secure, reliable data collection and plant monitoring that is resistant to interference. The SPSF consists of three main layers: 1) Smart Safety Sensing Layer, 2) Smart Safety Network Layers, 3) Plant Network System Layer.

  • The railway signaling systems are computerized vital equipments for safety guarantee of train running. And also it is important to prepare the reliable communication link between signalling equipments. In this paper the review of network technology for railway signalling is presented and reliable network technology for network is represented.   • In this paper, a highly reliable communication network for DCS in nuclear power plant is designed. The structure and characteristics of DCS in nuclear power plant is briefly explained. The features needed for a communication network for DCS in nuclear power plant is described. According to the abovo features, the layer structure of the communication network is determined and each layer is designed in detail.

  • In order to send the information certainly via the network against the packet lost caused by hardware troubles or limitation of packet transferring, we must construct reliable network infrastructure. However, it is difficult to construct comfortable network early if we construct rely on the prediction or the experience through a lot of troubles. In this paper, we propose the method to construct reliable network infrastructure based on the computer network simulation. This simulation is based on the percolation model. Percolation model is known as the model that represents connections. We gave some simulations for the various network topologies: the square lattice network, the cubic lattice network, and the full connection type network.

End-to-end Reliable Message Transmission Considering Load Balancing in Wireless Networks

  • This paper proposes a load balanced reliable routing protocol called LBR (Load Balanced Reliable routing) in wireless networks. The LBR protocol transmits messages through a reliable path considering the balancing of the traffic load. Recently, the authors have proposed a multipath-based reliable routing protocol called MRFR, which is an appealing protocol for fault tolerant reliable data transmission. However, However, MRFR has no concern with the problem of load balancing, which results in increasing congestion and consuming high energy at some network nodes. As a result, the problem affects negatively the performance of the network. Taking account of load balancing as a route selection criteria can avoid routing through the congested nodes and allows to find better routes. In this paper, we extend MRFR by considering load balancing in the route discovery process of reliable communication. The simulation results showed that the proposed protocol outperforms AODV in terms of end-to-end delay, packet delivery radio, and average jitter. Compared to MRFR, the LBR protocol has the same packet delivery ratio, and obtains a better efficiency of load balancing.

이동망에서 서비스 보장을 위한 대응방안 (A Reaction Scheme supporting the Reliable Service in Mobile Networks)

  • The capability to provide the network service must survive even if a significant network system element is disrupted. To sustain the network service under the system failure, network survivability mechanisms minimizing the impact of failures are needed. Also, since the mobile network has its unique characteristic, the survivability scheme for the vulnerability of the mobile network is required. This paper proposes a survivability scheme to support the reliable service of the wireless access point level (BS-base station system). By the survivability scheme, the mobile network can use an overlap BS of the cellular network architecture after a BS system failure. We analyze the performance of the proposed scheme using Markov model. Also, a computer simulation is used for the scheme analysis. The proposed scheme shows that the service of the mobile network can be provided under the BS system failure.

  • Genetic algorithm is well known as the efficient algorithm which can solve a difficult problem. Network design considering reliability is NP-hard problem with cost, distance, and volume. Therefore genetic algorithm is considered as a good method for this problem. This paper suggests the reliable network which can be constructed with minimum cost using genetic algorithm and the rank method based on reliability for improving the performance. This method shows more excellent than existing method and confirms the result through simulation.

  • 5G vehicular communication is one of key enablers in next generation intelligent transportation system (ITS), that require ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC). To meet this requirement, a new hybrid vehicular network structure which supports both centralized network structure and distributed structure is proposed in this paper. Based on the proposed network structure, a new vehicular network utility model considering the latency and reliability in vehicular networks is developed based on Euclidean norm theory. Building on the Pareto improvement theory in economics, a vehicular network uplink optimization algorithm is proposed to optimize the uplink utility of vehicles on the roads. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can significantly improve the uplink vehicular network utility in vehicular networks to meet the URLLC requirements.
