Wireless sensor networks are used in various applications due to the flexibility of network. In particular, the energy harvesting wireless sensor network (EH-WSN) has been introduced to solve the power limitation problem, and the application range of the sensor network is further expanded. In order to transmit the sensed data to the destination node, the MAC protocol considering the power of the nodes has been studied. The power situation and the urgency of the data are important elements of data transmission, and a medium access control protocol that comprehensively considers data urgency and power of nodes is required. In this paper, we propose a medium access control protocol which can select relay nodes according to power situation and urgency of data.

Network reprogramming is a technology that allows several sensor nodes deployed in sensor field to be repaired remotely. Unlike general communication in sensor network where small amount of data is transferred, network reprogramming requires reliable transfer of large amount of data. The existing network reprogramming techniques suffers high cost and large energy consumption to recover data loss in node communication. In this paper, a cluster based network reporgramming scheme is proposed for sensor network. It divides sensor field into several clusters and chooses a cluster header in charge of data relay to minimize duplicated transmission and unnecessary competition. It increases reliability by effective error recovery through status table.
This paper investigates the effect of hardware impairments (HIs) and imperfect channel state information (ICSI) on a SWIPT-assisted adaptive nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)/orthogonal multiple access (OMA) system over independent and nonidentical Rayleigh fading channels. In the NOMA mode, the energy-constrained near users act as a relay to improve the performance for the far users. The OMA transmission mode is adopted to avoid a complete outage when NOMA is infeasible. The best user selection scheme is considered to maximize the energy harvested and avoid error propagation. To characterize the performance of the proposed systems, closed-form and asymptotic expressions of the outage probability for both near and far users are studied. Moreover, exact and approximate expressions of the ergodic rate for near and far users are investigated. Simulation results are provided to verify our theoretical analysis and confirm the superiority of the proposed NOMA/OMA scheme in comparison with the conventional NOMA and OMA protocol with/without HIs and ICSI.

In this paper, we propose a modulation scheme for a network-coded bi-directional relaying (NBR) system over an asymmetric channel, which means that the qualities of the relay channel (the link between the BS and RS) and access channel (the link between the RS and MS) are not identical. The proposed scheme employs a dual constellation in such a way that the RS broadcasts the network-coded symbols modulated by two different constellations to the MS and BS over two consecutive transmission intervals. We derive an upper bound on the average bit error rate (BER) of the proposed scheme, and compare it with the hybrid constellation-based modulation scheme proposed for the asymmetric bi-directional link. Furthermore, we investigate the channel utilization of the existing bi-directional relaying schemes as well as the NBR system with the proposed dual constellation diversity-based modulation (DCD). From our simulation results, we show that the DCD gives better average BER performance about 3.5~4dB when $E_b/N_0$ is equal to $10^{-2}$, while maintaining the same spectral efficiency as the existing NBR schemes over the asymmetric bi-directional relaying channel.

This paper proposes the method for more effectively calculating X/R which is the ratio of equivalent reactance(X) and resistance(R) of the bulk power system and analyses the characteristic of X/R values by applying the proposed method to the real bulk power systems. X/R is used to determine the rating of the relay in the bulk power systems and its value has been accepted to be big enough to ignore the equivalent resistance of the bulk power systems. However, X/R is calculated as a big number when only the upper transformer and transmission line are considered. The correct approach to calculating X/R needs to consider all the parameters including generators, transformers, lines and loads. This paper calculates X/R of the bulk power systems using dynamic models which have been used to analyse the power system stability. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by applying it to the test system and X/R values of the real bulk power systems are analyzed. In addition, the dependence of X/R on the closeness of its calculating locations to the generator is verified by using the marginal loss factor which has been used in the electricity market.

In this paper, n system did research about effect that interference effect with neighborhood single equipment or group equipment gets in DMB service. For this, 2.6425 GHz SDMB(Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) that a special of electric wave interference is near frequency-band including interference of signal by unnecessary radiation level that is radiated in UWB system, and degree of 3.4125GHz broadcasting relay net that is In-band frequency-band and interference effect that get in service analyzed comparison ud, modulation of broadcasting relay net and interference measurement equipment used Impulse and OFDM methods. Impulse method was $BER=1{\times}10^4$ that broadcasting signal receiption is possible at 1.4m point because interference effect happens from 2m point in SDMB system, and it was $BER=1^{\times}10-4$ that OFDM method receives interference effect from 0.8m point and broadcasting signal receiption is possible at 0.5m point. Also, about gap-filler center frequency, in case of space interval more than 0.01m, there was no interference effect. Therefore, for the electric wave of W system that is small output applies to system without interference effect in DMB service, confirmed that UWB system of OFDM method is less interference effect than UWB system of impulse method.

In this paper, we propose an open protocol to be employed between a smart meter concentrator and a metering data collection server, and also evaluate its performance. Legacy concentrators performs the connection establishment and data gathering operations with DLMS/COSEM protocol standards. However, we note that there are no standardized protocols between the concentrator and the collection server, which inevitably conduces each commercial smart metering system to have its own proprietary protocol. In order to solve this problem, we propose an open protocol - Smart Meter Concentrator Control Protocol(SMCCP) by extending the existing standard protocol(DLMS/COSEM). The SMCCP can provide the proxy mode to enable efficient transmission between the concentrator and the data collection server. It also can support the relay mode to enable a direct communication between the data collection server and each far end smart meter. We also implement an emulator system and a protocol analyzer to provide its operation. In addition, we evaluate the session holding time and the link usage ratio in both relay and proxy modes with OMNET++ simulator.

Opportunistic transmit cooperative relaying (OTR) system has been interested for its ability to mitigate the fading in wireless channel without multiple antennas in a small terminal. In OTR system, only the relays that the received Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) from a source is greater than the threshold transmit to the destination. However, the receiving branches of a destination in a realistic system is fixed, the excess number of signals from the transmit relays does not improve the system performance and consequently increases power consumption. In this paper, we adopt Double Opportunistic Transmit (DOT) cooperative diversity system which controls the average number of transmit relays. Although the average number of the transmit relays can be controlled by adjusting the two thresholds in DOT system, the instantaneous number of transmit relays is varying in fading channel. Thus we propose Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) or Generalized Selection Combining (GSC) according to the number of the signals from relays at the destination. The outage probability of the proposed system is derived in closed form. The analytical results show that the system performance is improved with the number of the branches. Also it is noticed that when the number of the branches is fixed, the outage probability decreases with the increase of the average SNR of S-R path and R-D path.

VANET technologies provide real-time traffic information for mitigating traffic jam and preventing traffic accidents, as well as in-vehicle infotainment service through Telematics/Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Due to the rapid increasement of various requirements, the vehicle communication with a limited resource and the fixed frame architecture of the conventional techniques is limited to provide an efficient communication service. Therefore, a new flexible operation depending on the surrounding situation information is required that needs an adaptive design of the network architecture and protocol for efficiently predicting, distributing and sharing the context-aware information. In this paper, Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) based on communication between vehicle and a Road Side Units (RSU) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) based on communication between vehicles are effectively combined in a new MAC architecture and V2I and V2V vehicles collaborate in management. As a result, many vehicles and RSU can use more efficiently the resource and send data rapidly. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve high resource utilization in accordance. Also we can find out the optimal transmission relay time and 2nd relay vehicle selection probability value to spread out V2V/V2I collaborative schedule message rapidly.
