  • For the calculation of transonic laminar relative flow fields on the axisymmetric H-S and B-B stream surfaces in turbomachinery, a finite volume method developed in Part (I) is extended. Energy equation is replaced for simplicity by the condition of constant rothalpy throughout the flow fields. For axisymmetric H-S flow the circumferential componets of absolute velocity are given in advance so that this component of momentum equations can be neglected. Some numerical results show good agreement with experimental data.

  • In this work, single event spectra were measured in order to gain the microdosimetric parameters of some heavy ion radiotherapy fields at HIMAC. Microdosimetry is now a well-established technique for the investigation of complex mixed radiation field. Changes in frequency mean lineal energy y$\_$F/ as a function of thickness of A150 phantom were obtained. The absorbed dose was obtained by using y$\_$F/. A direct relation between this single event probability distribution and relative biological effectiveness (RBE) was assumed in order to estimate RBE using the response function.

  • In the previous review, the physical aspect of heavy particles, with a focus on the carbon beam was introduced. Particle beam therapy has many potential advantages for cancer treatment without increasing severe side effects in normal tissue, these kinds of radiation have different biologic characteristics and have advantages over using conventional photon beam radiation during treatment. The relative biological effectiveness (RBE) is used for many biological, clinical endpoints among different radiation types and is the only convenient way to transfer the clinical experience in radiotherapy with photons to another type of radiation therapy. However, the RBE varies dependent on the energy of the beam, the fractionation, cell types, oxygenation status, and the biological endpoint studied. Thus this review describes the concerns about RBE related to particle beam to increase interests of the Korean radiation oncologists' society.

  • For the same configuration, the stiffness of 6-node two dimensional isoparametric is stiffer than that of 8-node two dimensional isoparametric element. This phenomenon may be called 'Relative Stiffness Stiffening Phenomenon.' In this paper, the relative stiffness stiffening phenomenon was studied, and could be corrected by modifying the position of Gauss integral points used in the numerical integration of the stiffness matrix. For the same deformation (bending) energy of 6-node and 8-node two dimensional isoparametric elements, Gauss integral points of 6-node element have to move closer, in comparison with those of 8-node element, in the case of numerical integration along the thickness direction.

  • $(Ba_{0.5}\;Ca_{0.5})TiO_{3}$ 감습소자를 고상반응법으로 제조하고, 그 전기적 특성을 조사하였다. 상대습도에 대한 임피던스 변화가 선형적인 우수한 감도를 나타냈으며, 충 방전 전류 특성으로부터 흡습시 주요 캐리어는 이온성 캐리어임을 나타내며, 고온 및 고습영역으로 갈수록 전기전도도가 증가함을 알 수 있다. 고습영역으로 갈수록 유전율이 증가하며, 활성화에너지는 상대습도가 증가할수록 감소함을 알 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS가 없는 일반적인 Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)상에서 상대적 위치정보를 이용하여 지리적으로 고른 clutter를 구성하고, sensor와 BS사이의 거리를 고려하여 cluster head의 선출빈도를 조절하는 새로운 centralized clustering algorithm "RLCA : Relative Location based Clustering Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks"를 제안하고, RLCA의 에너지 소비 효율성이 LEACH에 비해 높다는 것을 실험적으로 보인다.

스퍼어 기어의 밀폐단조에 관한 상계해석 (An upper bound analysis for closed-die forging of spur gear forms)

  • A kinematically admissible velocity field for the numerical analysis of closed-die forging process of spur gear is proposed. The velocity field is divided into three regions of deformation. In the analysis, the involute curve is approximated to be straight line and the upper-bound method is used to calculate energy dissipation rate. A constant frictional frictional factor has been assumed on the contacting surfaces. The effects of root diameter, number of teeth, and friction factor are determined on the relative forging pressure. The frictionless relative pressure is independent of root diameter for the same number of teeth, but increases with the number of teeth on a given root diameter. In the presence of friction, the relative forging presure increasing root diameter at the start of forging, but decreases with increasing root diameter in the processing of forging.

  • Energy environment has been changing rapidly such as high oil prices and the effectuation of UNFCCC. Oil prices have continued to rise and Dubai crude prices recorded about 90 dollars per barrel in 2007. In addition, the effectuation of UNFCCC will affect Korean economy and national energy security. Korea is the 9th $CO_2$ emissions country and takes the 1st place related to the increase rate of $CO_2$ emissions globally. Energy technology development is a key breakthrough and one of the optimal alternatives to cope with national energy security. In this study, we prioritize energy technologies in the sectors of high oil prices and UNFCCC related to ETRM for well focus R&D and efficiency of finite resources allocations. We applied to the extended method of AHP, fuzzy AHP reflecting the fuzziness of human thoughts and perception, for prioritizing the relative importance among energy technologies in ETRM for the first time as we make an energy policy in Korea.

  • In 1997, Korean government established the National Energy and Resources Plan, which targeted from 1997 to 2005 with strategic energy technology development. At the end of 2005, Korean government built a New National Energy and Resources Plan preparing for upcoming 10 years from 2006 until 2015 based on energy technology trees comparing with the previous plan, which based on the energy R&D projects. In this research, we prioritize the relative preferences and efficiency by an AHP/DEA CCR-I and BCC-I integrated model approach considering scale efficiency for well focused R&D and efficiency of developing Greenhouse Gas technologies as an extended research from a view point of econometrics as an extended research.

Development of Initial Design Stage Guidelines for nearly Zero Energy Offices : A Central-Climate Zone of Korea Case Study

  • This study aimed to develop a design manual to be used during the initial stage of the nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) design process. Recently, with the increased demand for nZEBs, there are many architects and architectural firms who are becoming interested in nZEB design. However, since the nZEB design process requires a different approach to the conventional building design process, architects have difficulties with application of the nZEB design process in their projects. Therefore, a design manual which can be used in the nZEB design process was developed in this study. Based on an intensive literature review, energy-saving strategies and their performance levels, which affect heating and cooling energy consumptions were established for a reference building. To analyze the sensitivity of each energy strategy to the overall performance, computer simulations using EnergyPlus were performed. At the same time, an Analysis of Variance assessment was conducted to estimate the relative importance of each energy factor. The energy sensitivity and priority of the energy factors was developed into a set of design guidelines.
