원형관에서 상대수심을 고려한 점변류 해석 (Analysis of Gradually Varied Flow Considering Relative Depth in Circular Pipe)

  • When we use the circular pipes for wastewater and storm water, we should be known the characteristics of the flow for accurate design. To elevate the design accuracy, we want to know the profile of flow. The roughness coefficient in the Manning equation is constant, but in actuality changed with the relative depth in circular pipe. This study was conducted to calculate the relative normal depth in changing the roughness coefficient (named relative roughness coefficient) with the relative depth in the analysis of gradually varied flow in the circular pipe by Newton-Raphson method. We performed the analysis of gradually varied flow using the relative normal depth and the relative roughness coefficient. We presented the 12 flow profiles with the relative depth and the relative roughness coefficient in circular pipe. The flow classification considering relative depth in circular pipe is available to analyse gradually varied flow profiles.

A Study on Correlations for Void Ratio, Coefficient of Uniformity and Coefficient of Curvature for Determination of Relative Density for Sands

  • Determination of geotechnical characteristics of soil is either to use the field samples to measure the characteristics of soil through laboratory test or measuring the characteristics directly in the field. Field test can be derived similar value by considering characteristics of site and laboratory test can be confirmed the characteristic of soil by testing with field samples. This article describes relative density as the measure of compaction for cohesionless soils and presents several simple and mathematical relationships to help engineers estimate needed parameters for relative density calculations. The main purpose of this research is to investigate possible correlations between coefficient of uniformity, coefficient of curvature, maximum and minimum void ratio, mean grain size. Results show a linear relationship between the minimum and maximum void ratios and a power function relationship between coefficient of uniformity and the limiting void ratios. Void ratio range, which is the difference between the maximum and minimum void ratios, appeared to be log normally distributed but showed no simple mathematical fit to the data. these results were shown to help engineers estimate needed parameters for relative density calculations.

주기영향을 고려한 직립식 구조물의 월파량 산정 : 비쇄파조건 (Wave Overtopping Formula for Vertical Structure Including Effects of Wave Period : Non-breaking Conditions)

  • 비쇄파조건의 2차원 수리실험을 통해 직립식 구조물에 대한 월파량 산정식을 제안하였으며, 본 연구의 결과를 EurOtop(2007)과 비교하였다. 상대수심 영향계수(${\gamma}_{kh}$)를 통해 특정 상대수심 범위(kh > 1.55) 내에서는 상대수심이 증가하여도 거의 동일한 영향계수가 산정됨을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 파형경사의 경우에는 파형경사가 증가함에 따라 월파량 영향계수가 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 월파량 산정식은 상대여유고와 무차원 월파량의 지수함수 형태로 표현하였으며, 상대수심 영향계수 및 파형경사 영향계수(${\gamma}_s$)를 제시하여 주기효과를 정량적으로 고려할 수 있는 월파량 산정식을 제안하였다.

Determining the Relative Importance of Quality Dimensions Using the Kano Model and IPA

  • The Kano model, a two-dimensional quality theory, is widely used as a useful tool for measuring potential customer requirements by utilizing the concept of the Potential Customer Satisfaction Coefficient (PCSC). There is growing evidence that the PCSC, comprising the Potential Satisfaction Coefficient (PSC) and Potential Dissatisfaction Coefficient (PDC) and utilizing Kano's four quality dimensions (A, O, M, and I), can be particularly useful in determining the relative importance of quality characteristics in IPA. Despite prior studies utilizing the PCSC concept for characterizing importance, attempts to determine the relative significance among quality dimensions have been relatively scarce. This study aims to use PCSC and IPA to demonstrate which quality dimension is more significant than the others. The author analysed 32 Kano related articles, encompassing 34 cases, using IPA. The results indicate that the proposed equations are valid for assessing characteristic importance, with O or M is perceived as more important than A or I.

  • 본 논문은 지능형 서비스 로봇의 여러 기술들 중에서 기본적인 기술인 화자식별 기술에 관한 내용이다. 화자식별 기술은 화자의 음성신호를 이용하여 등록된 화자들 중에서 가장 유사한 화자를 찾아내는 것이다. 기존의 mel-frequency cepstral coefficient 를 이용한 화자식별 시스템은 무잡음 환경에서는 높은 성능을 보장하지만 잡음환경에서는 성능이 급격하게 떨어진다. 이렇게 잡음환경에서 성능이 떨어지는 요인은 등록환경과 식별환경이 다른 불일치문제 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 불일치문제를 해결하기 위해 relative autocorrelation sequence mel-frequency cepstral coefficient 를 사용하였다. 또한, 기존의 relative autocorrelation sequence mel-frequency cepstral coefficient 의 제한된 정보문제와 잔여잡음문제를 해결하기 위해 멀티스트리밍 방법과 멀티스트리밍 방법에 특정벡터 재결합 방법을 결합한 하이브리드 방법을 제한 하였다. 실험결과 제한된 방법들이 기존의 특정벡터보다 잡음환경에서 높은 화자식별 성능을 보여주었다.

국내 사용 농약을 대상으로 한 HPLC 방법에 의한 옥탄올/물 분배계수 추정법의 적용성 검토 (Applicability of the HPLC Method for the Estimation of Octanol/water Partition Coefficient to Pesticides of Domestic Use)

  • Octanol/water partition coefficients of 52 chemicals were calculated using RP-HPLC estimation method and predicted by computer program, PCHEM. The result showed relationship between literature values and RP-HPLC observed values (relative coefficient r$^2$=0.916), but the relationship of PCHEM values with literature values was lower than RP-HPLC value (relative coefficient r$^2$=0.795). The average difference in partition coefficient between the RP-HPLC method and flask-shaking method was log Kow=0.54, while the average difference between the values predicted form the computer program and flask- shaking method was log Kow = 0.36 Compared to octanol/water partition coefficients by 3 methods (Flask-shaking, RP-HPLC, computer prediction), the octanol/water partition coefficient values based on the flask-shaking method were very similar to the literature values, while the octanol/water partition coefficient values by RP-HPLC method without to consider the dead time, and computer prediction values did not significantly differ with the literature values.

상대습도 및 온도에 대한 시간 단계 해석을 적용한 콘크리트 구조의 크리프계수 산정 (Calculation of Creep Coefficient for Concrete Structures Applying Time Step Analysis for Relative Humidity and Temperature )

  • 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 철도 교량에서 발생하는 과다한 솟음 문제를 분석하는 연구의 일환으로, 이 논문에서는 콘크리트 구조물의 시간에 따른 솟음 증가량을 나타내는 크리프 계수에 대하여 산정 방법과 분석 결과를 제시한다. 설계기준의 크리프 계수 산정식을 사용하여 국내 12개 지역의 기후 조건(상대습도와 온도)을 적용한 크리프 계수를 구하고, 기후 조건에 대한 지역별 및 재하 시기별 차이가 크리프 계수에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 재하 초기에 많이 발생하는 크리프를 적절하게 산정하기 위하여 시기별 기후조건을 구분하여 고려하도록 시간 단계해석 방법을 적용하여 상세 분석한다. 지역의 평균 기후조건을 적용하여 구한 크리프 계수는 시간 단계 해석으로 구한 크리프 계수의 평균과 비슷하며, 시간 단계 해석을 통하여 크리프 계수에 미치는 상대습도와 온도의 상쇄, 중첩 효과 및 재하 초기 기후 효과를 적절하게 나타낼 수 있음을 보인다.

요소와 유황을 첨가한 콘크리트의 압축강도와 염화물 확산계수에 대한 공극특성의 영향 (Influence of Air Void Characteristic on Chloride Diffusion Coefficient and Compressive Strength of Concrete using Urea and Sulfur)

  • This study presents the effect of urea and sulfur admixture on compressive strength, chloride diffusion coefficient, and internal void distribution of concrete. Compressive strength of concretes with urea admixture by 5% increased by 5% relative to Control. However, that of concretes with urea admixture over 10% decreased. Chloride diffusion coefficient of concrete with urea and sulfur admixture decreased by 40% relative to Control. Additionally, the volume of internal void of concrete with urea and sulfur admixture decreased by 20% relative to Control. Therefore, it can be mentioned from test results that the use of adequate urea and sulfur admixture improves the mechanical properties and durability of concrete.

A mathematical model for the along-wind coefficient of tower crane based on the member load

  • The along-wind coefficient is the key parameter for wind load calculations in tower crane structure design. It is often calculated using overall parameter characteristics, which may lead to inaccurate results. In this study, six types of tower masts and four types of tower jibs with different overall structural characteristics and member characteristics are established. Through wind tunnel force tests and CFD numerical simulation, the along-wind coefficient of the overall structure and each member are obtained. Based on the characteristics of the slenderness ratio and spacing ratio of the members, a mathematical model for calculating the along-wind coefficient of the tower crane structure is proposed. The calculated results are in accordance with the wind tunnel test results. The maximum relative error is -6.25%, and the minimum relative error is 0.68%. To ensure accuracy, it is necessary to calculate the along-wind coefficient of the tower crane structure based on the load of each structure member rather than using overall parameter characteristics.

외부환경에 따른 마찰재의 마찰계수 변화 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study of the Characteristic of Friction Coefficient Variation for the External Environment)

  • The friction material for automobile is manufactured by mixing several composites to stop the running vehicles. Friction characteristics are changed significantly according to the relative amount of the base materials. However, difference of friction coefficient is sometimes measured at the test for the same friction material. Nevertheless, the study for solving these problems is insufficient. In this paper, the friction tests were carried out by changing the external environment and processing condition when the main ingredients are fixed and also evaluated how the friction coefficient changes. The variables are cooling air speed, humidity (Relative humidity and Absolute humidity), scorching time, soaking time and pad area. And it is analytically considered which environmental factor mainly affects the characteristic of friction coefficient variation by experiment. It is expected that the results from this study can be very useful as a database for development of the friction material.
