The effects of storage temperature and high relative humidity (RH) on the weight loss, color change, and microbial activity of a mushroom ('Sylvan' hybrid white) were investigated. The experiment was performed at three temperature (5, 10 and $15^{\circ}C$) and four different relative humidity levels (91, 94, 97 and 99%). The weight loss of the tested samples had a highly correlated linear relationship with storage time at each RH level during storage. Both the storage temperature and RH levels in the experiment had signigicant effects (p<0.05) on the weight-loss rate of the tested samples. The loss whiteness of mushrooms was not significantly affected (p>0.05) by RH ranges at the same temperature. No visible damage was caused by either bacteria or fungi in all samples during storage.
The aim of this study was to develop a phytotron for studying the effects of environmental factors such as temperature and humidity on plant growth. This equipment consists of the growth chamber, and the measurement and control system including control algorithms required for optimum operation. As the first step of the study, a temperature and humidity control system was developed. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1. Pt-100 was selected to measure temperature and a linearized op-amp circuit was developed for signal conditioning. 2. Pt-100 wet bulb thermometer based on Asmann's principle was developed to measure relative humidity. 3. Temperature and relative humidity conditions were controlled by ON-OFF and PWM operation using a PID controller. And an autotuning algorithm using the characteristics of step response was developed to determine optimal PID constants which were independent of the size of apparatus and environmental factors. 4. Under the ambient temperature of $20^{\circ}C{\sim}25^{\circ}C$, the temperature was kept within the error of ${\pm}0.3^{\circ}C$ in the range of $10^{\circ}C{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, and the relative humidity was kept within the error of ${\pm}5%$ in the range of ${\pm}50%{\sim}90%$.
In this study, we evaluated the effect of different temperatures (10, 20, 30, and $40^{\circ}C$) and relative humidities (RHs; 12, 44, 76, and 98%) on populations of predominant grain fungi (Aspergillus candidus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigatus, Penicillium fellutanum, and Penicillium islandicum) and the biocontrol activity of Pseudomonas protegens AS15 against aflatoxigenic A. flavus KCCM 60330 in stored rice. Populations of all the tested fungi in inoculated rice grains were significantly enhanced by both increased temperature and RH. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that one unit increase of temperature resulted in greater effects than that of RH on fungal populations. When rice grains were treated with P. protegens AS15 prior to inoculation with A. flavus KCCM 60330, fungal populations and aflatoxin production in the inoculated grains were significantly reduced compared with the grains untreated with strain AS15 regardless of temperature and RH (except 12% RH for fungal population). In addition, bacterial populations in grains were significantly enhanced with increasing temperature and RH, regardless of bacterial treatment. Higher bacterial populations were detected in biocontrol strain-treated grains than in untreated control grains. To our knowledge, this is the first report showing consistent biocontrol activity of P. protegens against A. flavus population and aflatoxin production in stored rice grains under various environmental conditions of temperature and RH.
This study was conducted to develop a model to estimate crop leaf surface temperature. The results were as following; A definition for the daily time based on elapsed time from the midnight (00:00) as "E&E time" with the unit of Kmin. was suggested. The model to estimate the scaled temperature ($T^*e$) of crop leaf surface temperature by scale factor ($T^*$) according to the "E&E time : Kmin."(X) was developed as eq. (1) $T^*e=0.5{\cdot}sin(X+780)+0.5$ (2) $T^*=(Tx-Tn)/(Tm-Tn)$, Tx : Daily leaf temperature, Tm : Daily maximum leaf temperature, Tn : Daily minimum leaf temperature. Relative sensitivity of the measured temperature compared to the estimated temperature of red pepper, soybean and persimmon was 1.078, 1.033 and 0.973, respectively.
In this study, a novel method is proposed for retrieving relative surface temperature from single-channel middle infra-red (MIR, 3-5 ${\mu}m$) remotely sensed data. In order to retrieve absolute temperature from MIR data, it is necessary to accommodate at least atmospheric effects, surface emissivity and reflected solar radiance. Instead of retrieving kinematic temperature of each target, we propose an alternative to retrieve the relative temperature between two targets. The core idea is to minimize atmospheric effects by assuming that the differential at-sensor radiance between two targets experiences the same atmospheric effects. To reduce effective simplify atmospheric parameters, each atmospheric parameter was examined by MODTRAN and MIR emissivity derived from ASTER spectral libraries. Simulation results provided a required accuracy of 2 K for materials with a temperature of 300 K within 0.1 emissivity errors. The algorithm was tested using MODIS band 23 MIR day time images for validation. The accuracy of retrieved relative temperature was $0.485{\pm}1.552$ K. The results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm was able to produce relative temperature with a required accuracy from only single-channel radiance data. However, this method has limitations when applied to materials having very low temperatures using day time MIR images.
Grafting of fruit-bearing vegetables has been widely used to increase the resistance to soil-borne diseases, to increase the tolerance to low temperature or to soil salinity, to increase the plant vigor, and to extend the duration of economic harvest time. After grafting, it is important to control the environment around grafted seedlings for the robust joining of a scion and rootstock. Usually the shading materials and plastic films are used to keep the high relative humidity and low light intensity in greenhouse or tunnel. It is quite difficult to optimally control the environment for healing and acclimation of grafted seedlings under natural light. So the farmers or growers rely on their experience for the production of grafted seedling with high quality. If artificial light is used as a lighting source for graft-taking of grafted seedlings, the light intensity and photoperiod can be easily controlled. The purpose of this study was to develop a prototype system for the graft-taking enhancement of grafted seedlings using artificial lighting and to investigate the effect of air current speed on the distribution of air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking enhancement system. A prototype graft-taking system was consisted by polyurethane panels, air-conditioning unit, system controller and lighting unit. Three band fluorescent lamps (FL20SEX-D/18, Kumho Electric, Inc.) were used as a lighting source. Anemometer (Climomaster 6521, KANOMAX), T-type thermocouples and humidity sensors (CHS-UPS, TDK) were used to measure the air current speed, air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking system. In this system, air flow acted as a driving force for the diffusion of heat and water vapor. Air current speed, air temperature and relative humidity controlled by a programmable logic controller (UP750, Yokogawa Electric Co) and an inverter (MOSCON-G3, SAMSUNG) had an even distribution. Distribution of air temperature and relative humidity in a graft-taking enhancement system was fairly affected by air current speed. Air current speed higher than 0.1m/s was required to obtain the even distribution of environmental factors in this system. At low air current speed of 0.1m/s, the evapotranspiration rate of grafted seedlings would be suppressed and thus graft-taking would be enhanced. This system could be used to investigate the effects of air temperature, relative humidity, air current speed and light intensity on the evaportranspiration rate of grafted seedlings.
This study was carried out to investigate the collection Efficiency of mass in collector step at the different of physical gas characterization. This work has focused on the dependence of the collection efficiency of mass in the collector zone of a two-stage set up field with gas temperature T and the dew point tmeperature. To identify the dependence of the mass collection efficiency on the Bounded plate of the collector zone MP.k by the spectre electric resistance of dust $p_e$. and the relative humidify ${\varphi}$, 20 at- tempts have been made with three different gas temperature ($50{\circ}C, 80{\circ}C, 110{\circ}C$) at different dew point. At the specific electric resistance of dust $p_e$=$10^6{\Omega}m$ which relative humidity corresponds to $\phi$ > 15%, a easy rise of the sounded plate secluded dust mass share was measured atwain. As the result of the higher cohesion imprisonment power due to the adsorbtion of particle, the rinse of the relative humidity developed on the particle surface. Therefore, the collection efficiency of mass was not predominant the high temperature T in the collector zone, neither was the pecific ellectric resistance of dust dependent.

In this study, we analyzed the LPG and LNG sensitivity measurement and voltage variation using catalytic type gas sensor characteristics in catalytic combustion type gas detecter sensors. gas detector shall operate as intended when exposed for 24 hours to air having a relative humidity of 0~85 percent at a temperature of $20[{\mu}m]$ and humidity of 45 percent at a temperature of $-10{\sim}40[^{\circ}C]$ the gas detecter sensors are to be subjected to operation for 210 days in an area that has been detemined to be equivalent to a typical residential atmosphere with an air velocity of 50 [cm/sec]. The source of energy for a gas detector sensors employing a supplementary basic circuit is energized from a separate source of supply direct applied voltage 2.1[V], 2.2[V], 2.3[V]. As a result, it was confirmed that the relative humidity and temperature by regression each analysis, compared to the LPG characteristic graph and methane characteristics graph by a relative humidity of 0 ~ 85 [%] at a temperature range of $-10{\sim}40[^{\circ}C]$ show a similar linear pattern on the whore.

Tribological properties of high temperature fade were investigated by changing relative amounts of ingredients in the brake friction material. Based on a simple experimental formulation containing 10 ingredients, friction materials were tested using a pad-on-disk type friction tester. Twenty-five friction material specimens with different relative amounts of the ingredients were manufactured according to the constrained mixture design .The difference ($\Delta$${\mu}$=${\mu}$$\sub$max/. -${\mu}$$\sub$min/. ) of friction coefficients was measured to represent the high temperature fade. Results from elevated temperature tests showed that five ingredients including cashew, graphite, Sb$_2$S$_3$, ZrSiO$_4$, and Cu fibers played important roles on $\Delta$${\mu}$. In order to find relative importance on fade phenomena among these ingredients, ANOVA(analysis of variance) was performed in this investigation. Thirty-two friction material specimens by changing ${\pm}$50vol.% of these five ingredients were tested to examine the relative importance. Results showed that cashew, graphite '||'&'||' Sb$_2$S$_3$, and cashew '||'&'||' graphite aggravated the fade behavior and Cu fibers improved on fade resistance.
The variability and temporal trends of the annual and seasonal minimum and maximum temperature, rainfall, relative humidity, wind speed, sunshine hours, and runoff were analyzed for 5 major rivers in Korea from 1960 to 2010. A simple regression and non-parametric methods (Mann-Kendall test and Sen's estimator) were used in this study. The analysis results show that the minimum temperature ($T_{min}$) had a higher increasing trend than the maximum temperature ($T_{max}$), and the average temperature increased by about $0.03^{\circ}C\;yr.^{-1}$. The relative humidity and wind speed decreased by $0.02%\;yr^{-1}$ and $0.01m\;s^{-1}yr^{-1}$, respectively. With the exception of the Han River basin, the regression analysis and Mann-Kendall and Sen results failed to detect trends for the runoff and rainfall over the study period. Rapid land use changes were linked to the increase in the runoff in the Han River basin. The sensitivity of the evapotranspiration and ultimately the runoff to the meteorological variables was in the order of relative humidity > sunshine duration > wind speed > $T_{max}$ > $T_{min}$. Future studies should investigate the interaction of the variables analyzed herein, and their relative contributions to the runoff trends.
