Millennial Transformational Leadership on Organizational Performance in Indonesia Fishery Startup

  • This study aims to understand the effect of millennial transformational leadership (MTL) on organizational performance in Indonesian Fishery startups. The population of this study included select fishery startups in Indonesia based on the data released by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia and Digital Fishery Network. This study used the statistical method of PLS-SEM to analyze the data. The findings show that the MTL has no direct positive relationship with organizational performance; MTL has a direct positive relationship with organizational agility; MTL has a direct positive relationship with IT capability; IT capability has a direct positive relationship with organizational agility; organizational agility has a direct positive relationship with organizational performance in fishery startups in Indonesia during this pandemic era. It is suggested that future researches use covariance-based-structural equation modeling which is able to test the research model's feasibility. Roles of mediating variables in addition to the main variables-for example, organizational agility as a mediating variable on the relationship between MTL and organizational performance - are also suggested to be examined. In spite of the limitations, the model developed is still interesting to investigate and is expected to enhance the literature on transformational leadership.

Relationship Between Corporate Social Responsibility Expenditures and Performance in Jordanian Commercial Banks

  • This study aims to examine the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) expenditures and both financial and non-financial performance of Jordanian commercial banks during the period 2008-2018. To measure the variables of interest, secondary data published on Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) website were processed to become preliminary data suitable for the nature of the study. The study sample amounted to 13 commercial banks, which represent all Jordanian commercial banks listed on ASE.. The study found that there is a positive, statistically significant relationship between CSR expenditures and financial performance, as the study showed that the return on equity (ROE) has a positive and significant relationship with CSR expenditure, while the return on assets (ROA) and Tobin's Q model have a statistically significant negative relationship with CSR expenditure, while the market stock price (MSP) had a positive, but not statistically significant. The study also found that there is a positive, statistically significant relationship between CSR expenditures and non-financial performance, which was represented by total deposits and total training expenditures in Jordanian commercial banks. Accordingly, the study recommends encouraging banks to prepare sustainability reports and CSR reports, which are considered comprehensive, and not only with disclosures within the annual reports.

  • The purpose of this research is to introduce the concept of "relationship formation factors" in inter-firm relations and to empirically demonstrate that they are effective in improving the relationship results by means of anmediating variable. Therefore, the basic model of this study consists of the independent, mediating, and dependent variables. First, the independent variable, that is, the relationship formation factors, is further classified into three components: transactional, relational, environmental characteristics. Then, the study empirically examines how each of the three components influences the dependent variable, that is, the business performance(Load Factor), by way of the mediating variables, that is, trust and relationship commitment.

  • This study was aimed for effective nursing performance of the nurse to be able dedicate to the development of professional nursing work by understanding correlation between the leadership style of head nurse and the nursing performance of the nurse. The materials have been collected through structured questionnaires for 18 days from Feb. 2, 1999 to Feb. 20 from 234 nurses presently working at 4 hospitals Circumstances aptitude theory of Fleishman (1973) were used as the device of measuring leadership style, and staff nurses nursing performance were done by head nurses utilizing questionnaire adopted from Park. Data was analyzed by frequency, mean, ANOVA, ANCOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficiency by using SPSS program. The results are as follows ; 1. Head nurse leadership was classified in the following manner : duty and human relationships oriented style of head nurse leadership(3.76), human relationship oriented style(3.30), duty leadership oriented style(3.12), and non-interference leadership style(2.77). Duty and human relationships showed highest score in this category. 2. The mean of nursing performance was 3.66, dependent nursing duty was 3.88, interpersonal relationship 3.78, and independent nursing was 3.34. 3. An education course of nursing performance by general characteristics was statistically significant. Job satisfaction, for seen working periods, and motivation for choosing a nursing job of nursing job characteristics was statistically siginficant. 4. As the degree of independence nursing performance increases, the degree and of dependance and interpersonal relationship of nursing performance increases. 5. The relationship between nurse leadership style and nursing performance were statistically different. The degree of duty and human relationship style of the head nurse were highest in dependent and independent nursing performance. Therefore, it is desirable that the head nurse should demonstrate the leadership style high in the duty and human relationships for effective nursing performance.

  • Many organizations experience that the performance they gained from IT investment is lower than they expected values. As with any investment, executives are concerned with maximizing the performance from their investment in IT. This study focused on the relationship between IT strategy and IT investment to maximize IT performance. A field survey of chief information officer of Korea manufacturing sector was conducted. Complete data for 147 firms was analyzed to determine relationship of the three research constructs. The study shows a positive relationship between IT strategic orientation, IT investment direction, and performance of IT. The research results provide empirical evidence that supports the research hypothesis that closer fit between IT strategies and IT investment directions does lead to increase operational and competitive performance of IT

  • This paper classifies the success factors of collaboration system in the shipbuilding industry. We propose the structural model that identifies the relationship between the success factors and organizational performance. To test empirically the relationship between the factors, we developed the measurement of each factors. This paper has examined the relationship between the independent variables and the mediating variables, also has examined the relationship between the parameters and a final dependent variable. The independent variables are as follows, (1) quality of system including reliability, flexibility, and accessibility, (2) the quality of information including contents, expressiveness, and (3) the partner relationship including the information sharing and the compatibility of strategies. The mediating variables are user involvement, parter trust, and user satisfaction. The final dependent variable is business performance. The hypotheses test proved that the system quality significantly affect user satisfaction, the information quality positively influence on the user participation, and the information sharing and strategic fit of partner relationship positively affect partner trust. Also, the user participation and partner trust significantly affect user satisfaction. Finally, the user participation, user satisfaction, and partner trust have a decisive effect on the organizational performance. The results of hypothesis test verified that the quality of information and system, also partner relationship are important to operate successfully the collaboration system in the shipbuilding industry. Also, the mediating variables are important to explain the structural relationship between the independent variables and organizational performance.

Psychological Capital, Organizational Commitment and Job Performance: A Case in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between employee's psychological capital, organizational commitment and job performance in Vietnam. In this study, psychological capital and overall organizational commitment are considered as two second-order constructs. Psychological capital includes four different components: self-efficacy, optimism, hope and resiliency. Organizational commitment comprises three different components: affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. The study uses the combination of quantitative research method and qualitative research method. Qualitative research method (based on the experts' opinions) is used to design the official questionnaire, while relationship between concepts is estimated by quantitative research method, which is inclusive of the methods of descriptive statistics, Cronbach's Alpha, EFA, CFA and CB-SEM. The survey is conducted in two ways: face-to-face and via email. Data are collected from 848 employees across provinces and cities in Vietnam. The findings show that psychological capital and job performance have a positive relationship, organizational commitment has positive influence on job performance, and psychological capital is also related to organizational commitment. All relationship between psychological capital, organizational commitment and job performance of employee are statistically significant. In addition, organizational commitment also plays the mediating role in the positive relationship between psychological capital and employee's performance.

  • This study examines the relationship between multiple sales force management practices and performance within each of Miles & Snow (1978)'s strategy types and Walker & Ruekert (1987)'s strategy types. The findings are as follows : First, Prospectors seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, internal sales force, moderate levels of supervision, outcome-based control system and incentive-oriented compensation system. Second, Analyzers seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, internal sales force, outcome-based control system to deal with the instability in their strategic focus. Third, Low Cost Defender seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, external sales force, low levels of supervision, outcome-based control system and salary-oriented compensation system. Fourth, Differentiated Defenders seem to be associated with increased performance when they are utilizing a relationship selling strategy, high levels of supervision, balanced (outcome+behavior) control system and salary-oriented compensation system.
