  • XML이 널리 확산되면서 XML문서들을 관계형 데이터 베이스에 저장하기 위한 관계형 스키마의 생성이 더욱 중요해 지고 있다. 기존의 DTD기반 관계형 스키마 생성 기법은 XML Schema에 적용될 수 없는데, 그 이유는 XML Schema에는 다양한 데이터 타입, 상속, 다형성과 같은 DTD에 존재하지 않는 새로운 특징들이 많기 때문이다. 이 논문은 XML 문서들의 구조를 정의한 XML Schema로부터 자동으로 관계형 스키마를 생성해 내는 XHL Schema를 위한 관계형 스키마 자동생성기의 개관을 설명한다

  • According to the widespread use of ontology documents, a management system which store ontology data and process queries is needed for retrieving semantic information efficiently. In this paper I propose a storage schema that stores and retrieves semantic web documents based on RDF/RDFS ontology language developed by W3C in a relational databases. Specially, the proposed storage schema is designed to retrieve efficiently hierarchy information and to increase efficiency of query processing. Also, I describe a mechanism to transform RQL semantic queries to SQL relational queries and build up database using MS-ACCESS and implement in this paper. According to the result of implementation, we can blow that not only data query based on triple model but also query for schema and hierarchy information are transformed simply to SQL.

  • The most representative approach for efficient storing of XML data is to store XML data in relational databases. The merit of this approach is that it can easily accept the realistic status that most data are still stored in relational databases. This approach needs to convert XML data into relational data or relational data into XML data. The most important issue in the translation is to reflect structural and semantic relations of RDB to XML schema model exactly. Many studies have been done to resolve the issue, but those methods have several problems: Not cover structural semantics or just support explicit referential integrity relations. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for extracting implicit referential integrities automatically. We also design and implement the suggested algorithm, and execute comparative evaluations using translated XML documents. The proposed algorithm provides several good points such as improving semantic information extraction and conversion, securing sufficient referential integrity of the target databases, and so on. By using the suggested algorithm, we can guarantee not only explicit referential integrities but also implicit referential integrities of the initial relational schema model completely. That is, we can create more exact XML schema model through the suggested algorithm.

  • In this paper, we implement the XML and data modeling by the UML tool, in which the class diagram is constructed from the sequence diagram after making the use case diagram. For the XML modeling. the guiding line will be presented to transform the UML class into the XML document, and then an example to draw the XML DTD from the UML class will be also shown. Furthermore, through the proposed data modeling, the integrated design methods for the transformation of the UML class into relational database schema. object-relational database schema and object-oriented database schema also will be proposed. Finally, we will be presented schema for each database system.

  • Nowadays an information exchange on Bn such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to store XML data in object-relational database that support hierarchical structure. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing XML data in object-relational database is needed. In order to build good quality application systems, modeling is an important first step. In 1997, the OMG adopted the UML as its standard modeling language. Since industry has warmly embraced UML its popularity should become more important in the future. So a design methodology based on UML is need to develop efficiently XML applications. In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for In applications based on object-relational database using In. To this goal, first we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and second we propose data modeling methodology for object-relational database schema to store efficiently XML data in object-relational databases.

In this paper, we propose a unified design methodology for XML applications based on object-relational database using UML. To reach these goals, first we propose a systematic three step methodology to extract UML, second we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and third we propose a data modeling methodology for object-relational database schema to store exchanging XML data efficiently.

  • The database design for the management of bridge measurement information is presented in this paper. To express the associated data generated during the whole process of ambient measurement efficiently, requirements analysis for database construction is performed. And to define objects and organize schema conceptual and logical design are performed, which convert data model into logical schema. Finally, physical design is performed using DDL(data defined language). This database is based on the object-relational data modeling approach that has rich expressive power and good reusability in comparison with the traditional entity-relational modeling.

  • XML makes it possible for data to be exchanged regradless of the data model in which it is represented or the platform on which it is stored, serving as a standard for data exchange format on the internet. Especially, it is natural to send XML data without DTD on the internet when XML is data-centric. Therefore it is needed to extract relational schema to store XML data efficiently, to optimize queries, and to publish data which have been stored in the relational database in the XML format. In this paper, we proposed a method to generate relational database in the XML documents without DTD and store XML data using upper/lower bound schema extraction technique for semistructured data. In extracting a lower bound schema, we especially show an efficient technique for creating relational schema by using simulation with is more advanced than the datalog method.

  • B2B e-business is an economic transaction formed between companies through various networks including internet. At present, e-business between companies partly applies information distribution between companies, but many enterprises expect that a corporate basic system will be gradually changed into XML basis if web service is earnestly materialized, so they are competing with each other in developing XML DBMS. Existing XML DBMS studies used XML DTD in order to represent the structure of XML document. Such XML DTD defines the expression of a simple type, so there are many difficulties in defining the structure of XML document. To cope with this, in this paper, the author will develop database schema generator utilizing relational database generally used in storing contents of data, on the basis of XML schema selected as a standard of W3C. Also, to store XML data, the author proposed the automatic conversion method of relational database schema that used XML schema.
