This study is concerned with the accuracy, of error with which subjects can interpolate the location of a target between two graduation markers with 4 orientations and 6 sizes CRT display. Stimuli were graphic images on CRT with a linear, end-markec, ungraduated scales having a target. The location of a target is estimated in units over te range 1-99. Smallest error of estimates was at the near ends and middle of the base-line. The median error was less than 2 units, modal error was 1, and the most error (; 99.7%) was within 10. A proper size to make an minimum error in interpolation exists such that size 400 pixels. Interpolation estimation is shown to be affected by the size, location and interaction (orientation x location, size x location). The accuracy, interpolation performance are discussed in relation to absolute error associated with visual performance.

Solder leaching resistance of the metal electrode is an important factor with regard to adhesion properties of ceramic substrate. In the Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics (LTCC), Ag-Pd or Ag-Pt pastes are used instead of pure Ag paste to prevent leaching. Solder leaching behavior of the Ag-Pd paste in relation to LTCC raw material powder size was investigated. First fabrication of LTCC green tape with different particle size was done. LTCC substrates with Ag-Pd electrode were prepared using conventional multilayer ceramic process. Dipping test was performed to test solder leaching behavior of the electrode. Ag-Pd electrode on LTCC substrate with smaller particle size achieved higher solder leaching resistance.

This study suggest the size designation and standard nude size in relation to upper and lower garments for casual clothing brands targeting men aged 25 to 34. The nude size designation of upper garments was set at intervals of 5cm based on the bust (97cm). The clothing industry has used different nude size and designations; therefore, the following measurements were established to correspond to each other: bust 87cm- designation 90, bust 92cm- designation 95, bust 97 cm-designation 100, bust 102cm- designation 105, and bust 107cm- designation 110. The nude size designation of lower garments was set at intervals of 2cm based on the waist circumference (omphalion) and the nude size; the clothing designations were used equally. In addition, the standard nude size for upper and lower garments was set at intervals of bust (97cm) and of waist circumference (82cm), respectively, in order to suggest a detailed size.

Gamma-Ray Bursts(GRBs) are the most violent event in the universe, whose detection rate is a few in a day. The spectral lag, which is commonly observed in the observed light curves of GRBs, is a difference in arrival times of the high-energy and low-energy photons. The relation between the spectral lag and the luminosity of the observed GRBs is shown to be anti-correlated in previous studies. In reported relations to date, the isotropic luminosity has been assumed. On the other hand, GRBs are likely to emit its energy through a beamed jet. In this study, we attempt to obtain the relation between the spectral lag and the collimation-corrected luminosity. We have calculated collimation-corrected luminosities and opening angles using the observed light curves taken from a database of Swift/BAT, XRT. We expect to increase its significance level by expanding a sample size compared with those previously analyzed.

This article reveals the relationship between the body characteristics of the elder people and the size of park facilities during utilization of parks by scientific investigation. The experiment involves 540 elder people, and offer concrete evidence for park design in ageing society. These evidences mainly consists of the following aspects: First, the relation between physical situation of elder people and their using parks. Secondly, the relation between the hearing status and exchange circle diameter in elders. The last is the relation between the distance visual acuity and designing the scene. Finally we get the most suitable step length range, stairs height, road slope, communication space diameter and general formulas about the best vision distance for elder people.

Green's relations are five equivalence relations that characterize the elements of a semigroup in terms of the principal ideals. The J relation is one of Green's relations. Although there are known algorithms that can compute Green relations, they are not useful for finding all J relations in the semigroup of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices. Its computation requires multiplication of three Boolean matrices for each of all possible triples of $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices. The size of the semigroup of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices grows exponentially as n increases. It is easy to see that it involves exponential time complexity. The computation of J relations over the $5{\times}5$ Boolean matrix is left an unsolved problem. The paper shows theorems that can reduce the computation time, discusses an algorithm for efficient J relation computation whose design reflects those theorems and gives its execution results.

Dielectric constant of ferroelectric ceramics with poling is important in relation to the mechanism of dielectric breakdown. From the research about the dielectric constant variation with poling in tetragonal and rhombohedral phase PZT ceramics, it is known that the dielectric constant after poling is determined by competing effects between increasing effects (compressive stress induced by electrostriction of piezoelectric effects) and decreasing increase in large grain size with poling is smaller than in small grain size.

Underground flexible pipes for electric cables are subject to external loads and surrounding soil pressure. Particularly, strain of flexible pipes is of great concern in terms of safety and maintenance for electric cables. In this study, the actual size tests were carried out to investigate strain-deformation relation for underground flexible pipes subject to vehicle loads with various depths and degree of compaction.

The effect of plastic deformation in an interfacial crack is considered. Yield zones are assumed to have the form of a strip along the interface. The crack is subjected to mode III loads at infinity and lies along the interface of two semi-infinite planes with different material properties. The size of the yield zones, the relation between the size of the yield zone and CTOD are obtained in a closed form solution. The J integral also can be obtained in a closed form Solution.
