  • Due to advances in automated manufacturing systems and automatic inspection equipment, complete inspection has drown increased attention recently and has become a widespread practice. In a complete inspection plan all of the items are subject to acceptance inspection If an item fails to meet the predetermined specifications, it is rejected. In this paper, economic complete inspection plans are developed in situations where rejected items are reworked Complete inspections based on the performance variable of interest or a variable which is correlated with the performance variable are considered. Cost models are constructed which involve cost incurred by imperfect quality rework cast and quality inspection cost Methods of finding the optimal complete inspection plans are presented and numerical examples are given.

  • A process monitoring procedure using a correlated variable is presented when a lower specification limit is given on the performance variable. Every item is inspected with a variable correlated with the performance variable. When an item is rejected in the screening inspection, the process is checked for change using the mean and variance of measurements of the correlated variable for n preceding items including the rejected one. The performance variable is assumed to be normally distributed. A linear relationship between the performance and surrogate variables is assumed with normally distributed error term. The monitoring procedure is designed so that the prespecified outgoing quality can be attained.

  • Ordinary Portland cement is a widely favored construction material because of its good strength and durability and its reasonable price; however, spalling behaviour during fire exposure can be a serious risk that can lead to strength degradation or collapse of a building. Geopolymers, which can be synthesized by mixing aluminosilicate source materials such as metakaolin and fly ash, and alkali activators, are resistant to fire. Because the chemical composition of geopolymers controls the properties of the geopolyers, geopolymers with various Si:Al ratios were synthesized and evaluated as fire resistant construction materials. Rejected fly ash generated from a power plant was quantitatively analyzed and mixed with alkali activators to produce geopolymers having Si:Al ratios of 1.5, 2.0, and 3.5. Compressive strength of the geopolymers was measured at 28 days before and after heating at $900^{\circ}C$. Geopolymers having an Si:Al ratio of 1.5 presented the best fire resistance, with a 44% increase of strength from 29 MPa to 41 MPa after heating. This material also showed the least expansion-shrinkage characteristics. Geopolymer mortar developed no spalling and presented more than a 2 h fire resistance rating at $1,050^{\circ}C$ during the fire testing, with a cold side temperature of $74^{\circ}C$. Geopolymers have high potential as a fire resistant construction material in terms of their increased strength after exposure to fire.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of the Stress Management Education Program (SMEP) on the nurses stress and stress management ability, and to identify the main factors affecting them. The subjects were 72 nurses who participated in the In-Service education program of the Jin-Ju District, Kyeong-Nam Branch of the Korean Nurses Association during the period from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 1985. The book of“The stress management education program”was developed by the investigators. With this book, we executed the 1st education through the lecture & showing an example, After 15 days from the 1st education, we mailed a reminding booklet to the individuals. (2nd education). Then, we mailed a questionnaire on 15th day from the 2nd education. Before and after the SMEP We measured the stress management ability & stress, and identified the affecting factors. Findings of this study are as follows ; 1. The 1st hypothesis that“the SMP will increase the. knowledge about the nurses' stress management”was supported (t= -6.60, p <.001) 2. The 2nd hypothesis that“the SMEP will increase the nurses' practice about the stress management”was rejected. 3. The 3rd hypothesis that“the SEMP will decrease the nurses' stress”was rejected. 4. The 4th hypothesis that“the higher the know-ledge about the stress management, the lower the nurses' stress”was rejected. 5. The 5th hypothesis that“the higher the degree of the practice about the stress management, the lower the nurses' stress”was supported. (r= - .2859, p<.05). 6. There were significant correlations between the knowledge about stress management and age (r= -.3717, p<.01), between the knowledge about stress management and the period of her work. (r= -.2897, p<0.5). There was significant difference in the knowledge about stress management between those who had married and those who had not. (t=2.82, p<.01) 7. There was significant difference in the practice about the stress management between those who had religion and those who had not. (t=2.7, p< .01) 8. There was significant difference in the stress according to the type or work. (t=6. 127, P <.05) There was significant correlation between the stress and supportive system. (r=-.2647, p<.05).

  • There can be analyzed severally on the acceptance conditions of freight forwarder's transport document under UCP. First, Bills of Lading issued by forwarding agents will be refused. This can be seen in the article 20 of 1933 Revision UCP(Brochure 82) and the article 20 of 1951 Revision UCP(Brochure 151). Second, Unless specifically authorized in the credit, Bills of Lading issued by forwarding agent will be rejected. It is prescribed in the front part (a) of article 17 of 1962 Revision UCP(Brochure 222) and the article 19 of 1974 Revision UCP(Publication No. 290). Third, Acceptance conditions are different according to the type of transport documents, that is either Bill of Lading or not. It is prescribed in the art 25 and article 26 of 1983 Revision UCP. Unless otherwise stipulated in the credit, transport document issued by a freight forwarder will be rejected unless it is the FIATA Combined Transport Bill of Lading approved by the International Chamber of Commerce or otherwise indicates that it is issued by a freight forwarder acting as a carrier or agent of a named carrier. On the other hand, unless otherwise stipulated in the credit, marine bill of lading issued by a freight forwarder will be rejected, unless it indicates that it is issued by such freight forwarder acting as a carrier, or as the agent of a named carrier. Fourth, transport documents issued by a freight forwarder will be accepted. This can be found in the article 30 of 1993 Revision UCP(ICC Publication No. 500) and the article 14 l of 2007 Revision UCP(ICC Publication No. 600). According to the former unless otherwise authorized in the Credit, transport document issued by a freight forwarder will only be accepted if it is appears on its face to indicate the name of the freight forwarder as a carrier or multimodal transport operator or its agent. The latter prescribed that a transport document will be accepted if it is issued by a freight forwarder by a agent of carrier or freight forwarder itself.

  • Total three hundred and fourteen dairy cows were used in this study to analysis of correlation between milking levels and automatic milking system (AMS). Cows were divided into five groups according to their milking levels (over 50 kg/day, 49~40 kg/day, 39~30 kg/day, 29~20 kg/day, 19~10 kg/day). All groups were compared with daily milking number, rejected number by AMS, residence time at AMS, milking time, flow rate of milk. Daily milking number and milking time were higher in the group of over 50 kg and 49~40 kg than that of other groups (p<0.05). There are no correlation on rejected number by AMS, residence time at AMS and flow rate of milk between milking levels and AMS. In addition, we found that the milk yield affected to feed intake and rumination of dairy cows. In conclusion, present results indicated that installation of AMS on dairy farms with high milk producing cows might be affected positively.

  • This study dealt with the critical gap of roundabouts in Korea. The objective was to develop a model to derive critical gaps by analyzing gap acceptance patterns. In this context, the present study had a particular emphasis on collecting the data for accepted or rejected gaps. The main contributions of the study were as follows. First, accepted or rejected gaps were counted and measured through video frame analysis on the traffic patterns of 20 roundabouts in Korea. Based on the data, a gap acceptance model, guaranteeing the statistical significant in their parameters, was developed in the framework of the Logit model. Second, the critical gap calculated from the developed model was evaluated to be 2.584 seconds as a whole. Also, the critical gap in urban areas was estimated to be 2.744 seconds, whilst the critical gap in rural areas was estimated to be 2.416 seconds. Finally, critical gaps of roundabout in Korea were found to be smaller than those in foreign countries by about 1.5~2.5 seconds.

  • The cutaneous stimulation is an independent nursing intervention used in various painful conditions, and is explained by gate control theory. This study was aimed at identifying the effect of cutaneous stimulation on reduction of arteriovenous fistula puncture pain of hemodialysis patients. One group repeated measurement post test research was designed. Forty-five hemodialysis patients who received arteriovenous fistula puncture regulary in hemodialysis units of an attacted D hospital to K university have been studied from August 16 to 21, 1993. First the arteriovenous fistula puncture pain of control period was measured, and then the arteriovenous fistula puncture pain of experimental period(with cutaneous stimulation) was measured. The instrument used for this study were visual analogue pain scale as subjective pain measurement, objective pain behavior checklist and Spielberger's Trait Anxiety Inventory as intervening variables. Analysis of data was done by use of paired t-test, t-test, ANOVA and Perarson correlation coefficient. The results of this study were summarized as follows; 1) The first hypothesis that the subjective pain score of arteriovenous fistula puncture pain in experimental period(with cutaneous stimulation) will be lower than in control period was partly supported. The subjective pain score of arterial line was rejected(paired t=-0.28, p=0.77) and the subjective pain score of venous line was supported(paired t=2.61, p=0.01). 2) The second hypothesis that the objective pain behavior score of arteriovenous fistula pain in experimental period(with cutaneous stimulation) will be lower than in control period was rejected(arterial line paired t=-0.45, p=0.65; venous line paired t=-0.36, p=0.72). 3) The third hypothesis that the cardiopulmonary signs of arteriovenous fistula puncture pain in experimental period(with cutaneous stimulation) will be lower than in control period was rejected(pulse paired t=-0.8, p=0.42; systolic BP paired t=0.98, p=0.33; diastolic BP paired t=0.43, p=0.66). Further experimental studies with simple intravenous injection patients will be recommended in order to identify the effect of cutaneous stimulation.
