In this paper, we look into previous research in relation to each processing step for ECG diagnosis and propose detection and classification method of arrhythmia using rhythm features of ECG signal. Rhythm features for distribution of rhythm and heartbeat such as identity, regularity, etc. are extracted in feature extraction, and rhythm type is classified using rule-base constructed in advance for features of rhythm section in rhythm classification. Experimental results for all of rhythm types in the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database show detection performance of 100% for arrhythmia with only normal rhythm rule and applicability of classification for rhythm types with arrhythmia rhythm rules.
Spatial point-patterns analyses were conducted to provide insight into the ecological process behind competition and mortality in two lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud. var. latifolia Engelm.) stands, one in the Lower Foothills, and the other in the Upper Foothills natural subregions in the boreal forest of Alberta, Canada. Spatial statistical tests were applied to live and dead trees and included Clark-Evans nearest neighbor statistic (R), nearest neighbor distribution function (G(r)), and a variant of Ripley's K function (L(r)). In both lodgepole pine plots, the results indicated that there was significant regularity in the spatial point-pattern of the surviving trees which indicates that competition has been a key driver of mortality and forest dynamics in these plots. Dead trees generally showed a clumping pattern in higher density patches. There were also significant bivariate relationships between live and dead trees, but the relationships differed by natural subregion. In the Lower Foothills plot there was significant attraction between live and dead tees which suggests mainly one-sided competition for light. In contrast, in the Upper Foothills plot, there was significant repulsion between live and dead trees which suggests two-sided competition for soil nutrients and soil moisture.

The study empirically examines the horizontal spillover effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the productivity of Indian pharmaceutical firms. Robust least squares and the Generalized Method of Moments estimators are applied for the firm-level panel data of Indian pharmaceutical companies whose shares were traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The information was collected from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) Prowess database from 2015 to 2019. Based on the regularity in data availability, the sample firms are limited to 112 companies, 100 of which are domestic firms and 12 international firms. Firms with more than 10 percent foreign equity are classified as FDI firms, while those with less than that are classified as domestic firms. Estimation results show that foreign ownership does not contribute to the productivity of domestic firms. Due to increased competition, the Indian pharmaceutical companies with foreign equity participation are not more productive than local ones. Moreover, the findings reveal a negative and insignificant horizontal spillover effect from FDI on the productivity of domestic enterprises. The absence of horizontal spillovers may be attributable to foreign enterprises' ability to prevent technological outflow to competitors in the same industry.

The model-based evolutionary algorithms are divided into three groups: estimation of distribution algorithms, inverse modeling, and surrogate modeling. Existing inverse modeling is mainly applied to solve multi-objective optimization problems and is not suitable for many-objective optimization problems. Some inversed-model techniques, such as the inversed-model of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm, constructed from the Pareto front (PF) to the Pareto solution on nondominated solutions using a random grouping method and Gaussian process, were introduced. However, some of the most efficient inverse models might be eliminated during this procedure. Also, there are challenges, such as the presence of many local PFs and developing poor solutions when the population has no evident regularity. This paper proposes inverse modeling using random forest regression and uniform reference points that map all nondominated solutions from the objective space to the decision space to solve many-objective optimization problems. The proposed algorithm is evaluated using the benchmark test suite for evolutionary algorithms. The results show an improvement in diversity and convergence performance (quality indicators).

Three-dimensional (3D) geometric models are introduced to correct vignetting, and a downhill simplex search is applied to determine the coefficients of a 3D model used in digital microscopy. Vignetting is nonuniform illuminance with a geometric regularity on a two-dimensional (2D) image plane, which allows the illuminance distribution to be estimated using 3D models. The 3D models are defined using generalized polynomials and arbitrary coefficients. Because the 3D models are nonlinear, their coefficients are determined using a simplex search. The cost function of the simplex search is defined to minimize the error between the 3D model and the reference image of a standard white board. The conventional and proposed methods for correcting the vignetting are used in experiments on four inspection systems based on machine vision and microscopy. The methods are investigated using various performance indices, including the coefficient of determination, the mean absolute error, and the uniformity after correction. The proposed method is intuitive and shows performance similar to the conventional approach, using a smaller number of coefficients.
This paper conducts a statistical analysis of extreme values for both daily log-returns and daily negative log-returns, which are computed using a collection of KOSPI data from January 3, 1998 to August 31, 2011. The Poisson-GPD model is used as a statistical analysis model for extreme values and the maximum likelihood method is applied for the estimation of parameters and extreme quantiles. To the Poisson-GPD model is also added the Bayesian method that assumes the usual noninformative prior distribution for the parameters, where the Markov chain Monte Carlo method is applied for the estimation of parameters and extreme quantiles. According to this analysis, both the maximum likelihood method and the Bayesian method form the same conclusion that the distribution of the log-returns has a shorter right tail than the normal distribution, but that the distribution of the negative log-returns has a heavier right tail than the normal distribution. An advantage of using the Bayesian method in extreme value analysis is that there is nothing to worry about the classical asymptotic properties of the maximum likelihood estimators even when the regularity conditions are not satisfied, and that in prediction it is effective to reflect the uncertainties from both the parameters and a future observation.
Many problems are arisen due to the weakness in the security and invasion to privacy by malicious attacker or internal users while various data services are available in ubiquitous network environment. The matter of controlling security for various contents and large capacity of data has appeared as an important issue to solve this problem. The allocation methods of Ito, Saito and Nishizeki based on traditional polynomial require all shares to restore the secret information shared. On the contrary, the secret information can be restored if the shares beyond the threshold value is collected. In addition, it has the effect of distributed DBMS operation which distributes and restores the data, especially the flexibility in realization by using parameters t,v,k in combinatorial design which has regularity in DB server and share selection. This paper discuss the construction of new share allocation method and data distribution/storage management with the application of matrix structure of t-(v,k,1) design for allocating share when using secret sharing in management scheme to solve the matter of allocating share.
Due to the inefficient operation of the existing logistic facilities, the complicated distribution structure, and closed utilization of logistic information are causing high logistic costs. The general improvement in the distribution structure and the expansion of the logistic facilities are needed for solving these problems. However, existing unit-scale forecast is not considering the loading and unloading characteristics of the trucks and the improvement of operation efficiency from the mechanization and automation of the loading and unloading works. The queuing theory based on the status quo of the cargo trucks to the cargo terminals is considered in this study. The optimal scale estimation method(OSCM) which the loading and unloading characteristics of the cargo trucks were taken into consideration was suggested. Also, the relationship between the optimal scale of the cargo terminal and the mechanization, automation, and informationization of the present loading and unloading system was investigated. As a result, it showed that the regularity of the truck arrival and service times had less influence on the scale of the cargo terminal, but the improvement of the loading and unloading speeds and the service rate of the trucks did more influence on it.
The goal of energy-based seismic design is to obtain a structural design with a higher energy dissipation capacity than the energy dissipation demands incurred under earthquake motions. Accurate estimation of the story hysteretic energy demand of a multi-story structure is the key to meeting this goal. Based on the assumption of a mode-equivalent single-degree-of-freedom system, the energy equilibrium relationship of a multi-story structure under seismic action is transformed into that of a multi-mode analysis of several single degree-of-freedom systems. A simplified equation for the estimation of the story seismic hysteretic energy demand was then derived according to the story shear force and deformation of multi-story buildings, and the deformation and energy relationships between the mode-equivalent single-degree-of-freedom system and the original structure. Sites were categorized into three types based on soil hardness, namely, hard soil, intermediate hard (soft) soil, and soft soil. For each site type, a 5-story and 10-story reinforced concrete frame structure were designed and employed as calculation examples. Fifty-six earthquake acceleration records were used as horizontal excitations to validate the accuracy of the proposed method. The results verify the following. (1) The distribution of seismic hysteretic energy along the stories demonstrate a degree of regularity. (2) For the low rise buildings, use of only the first mode shape provides reasonably accurate results, whereas, for the medium or high rise buildings, several mode shapes should be included and superposed to achieve high precision. (3) The estimated hysteretic energy distribution of bottom stories tends to be underestimated, which should be modified in actual applications.
This study examined the dietary behavior of elementary school students in the Gyunggi area using the Nutrition Quotient (NQ). The subjects were 406 students (199 boys and 207 girls) in their fourth and fifth grades. The NQ, consisting 19 items, was grouped into five domains (balance, diversity, moderation, regularity, and practice). The NQ score of the boys and girls was similar (boys $61.40{\pm}14.31$, girls $63.02{\pm}14.62$). Among the five domains of the NQ, girls showed a higher score in moderation (boys $63.57{\pm}19.00$, girls $70.84{\pm}16.20$) and practice (boys $58.56{\pm}20.50$, girls $64.69{\pm}22.57$) than boys. No gender differences in diversity (boys $71.70{\pm}24.72$, girls $71.26{\pm}23.57$), regularity (boys $59.39{\pm}23.73$, girls $59.34{\pm}23.57$), and balance (boys $56.73{\pm}19.62$, girls $54.58{\pm}20.03$) were observed. The percentage distribution of the NQ grade was 10.8% (highest), 9.4% (high), 45.1% (medium), 20.4% (low), and 14.3% (lowest). More opportunities should be provided for children with a low and lowest NQ grade to participate in nutrition education.
