Characteristics of long-range transported PM2.5 at a coastal city using the single particle aerosol mass spectrometry

  • Air pollution has attracted ever-increasing attention because of its substantial influence on air quality and human health. To better understand the characteristics of long-range transported pollution, the single particle chemical composition and size were investigated by the single particle aerosol mass spectrometry in Fuzhou, China from 17th to 22nd January, 2016. The results showed that the haze was mainly caused by the transport of cold air mass under higher wind speed (10 m·s-1) from the Yangtze River Delta region to Fuzhou. The number concentration elevated from 1,000 to 4,500 #·h-1, and the composition of mobile source and secondary aerosol increased from 24.3% to 30.9% and from 16.0% to 22.5%, respectively. Then, the haze was eliminated by the clean air mass from the sea as indicated by a sharp decrease of particle number concentration from 4,500 to 1,000 #·h-1. The composition of secondary aerosol and mobile sources decreased from 29.3% to 23.5% and from 30.9% to 23.1%, respectively. The particles with the size ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 ㎛ were mainly in the accumulation mode. The stationary source, mobile source, and secondary aerosol contributed to over 70% of the potential sources. These results will help to understand the physical and chemical characteristics of long- range transported pollutants.

시장집중도를 이용한 바이오헬스산업의 지역개발격차 분석 및 시사점 - 충북지역을 중심으로 - (Analysis and Implications of Intra-regional Disparities by using Market Concentration Ratio - Focusing on the Chungcheongbuk-do region -)

  • 본 연구는 공간적 범위가 다른 지역 간 개발격차를 파악하기 위해 산업조직론의 집중지수를 활용하여 실증적으로 분석하고 이를 통한 정책적 시사점 제안한다. 연구의 범위는 2000년대부터 현재까지 지속적으로 해당 산업을 육성해 온 충청북도 11개 시·군이며, 선행연구 고찰을 통해 지역개발격차지수 이론을 기반으로 상위기업집중률과 허핀달 지수를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구대상은 전국 지자체가 경쟁적으로 육성 의지를 표명하고 있는 바이오헬스산업으로 대상지의 시·군경쟁력강화산업 결과를 기반으로 4개의 세부분야(제약, 의료기기, 건강기능식품, 화장품)로 나누어 연구를 수행하였다. 세부분야별 매출액, 종사자수, 연구개발비를 기준으로 분석한 지역개발격차지수 결과에 따라 지역별로 강점이 다른 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이 결과를 통해 향후 지역별 차별화된 산업육성 전략을 수립하는 데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있는 정책적 시사점을 도출하였다.

고랭지 밭 유역에서 융설과 강우유출로 발생하는 비점오염원의 특성 비교 (Comparison of NPS Pollution Characteristics between Snowmelt and Rainfall Runoff from a Highland Agricultural Watershed)

  • Runoff, NPS pollution load and flow-weighted mean concentration (FWMC) occurred by snowmelt and rainfall runoff were compared by a variance analysis. Snowmelt runoff ranged between 1,449 and $19,921m^3$. The peak snowmelt runoff was similar to the runoff that occurred by about 40mm/day rainfall. And average snowmelt runoff was not significantly different from the runoff that occurred by 25.5 mm/day rainfall. Average values of SS loads and FWMCs were 5,438 kg/day and 954.9 mg/L, respectively. SS loads and FWMCs were in the similar range with those that occurred by 39.0 mm/day and 53.0 mm/day rainfall, respectively. Daily SS and COD loads and FWMCs occurred by snowmelt and rainfall were analyzed not to be significantly different. Overall assessment led that the NPS pollution loads by snowmelt runoff had a similar characteristics with the loads by about 40 mm/day rainfall runoff. It was recommended that the agricultural fields in snowy region needs to managed not only for rainfall runoff but also snowmelt runoff for an effective water quality management.

  • 에너지 음료는 카페인을 주성분으로 타우린, 비타민 같은 다른 energy-enhancing 성분을 함유하고 있다. 미국과 유럽에서는 글루쿠로노락톤이 에너지 음료에 첨가될수 있으나, 국내에서 의약품으로는 허가되어 있다. 따라서 식품 첨가물로는 그 사용이 금지 되어 있어, 지속적으로 수입 및 유통 음료에서 시험검사를 하여 규제하고 있다. 현재 분석법으로 사용하는 LC-PDA 법은 복잡한 유도체화 과정을 거치고, 음료 중에 당류들이 위양성 결과를 나타내기도 한다. 이런 기존 방법의 단점을 개선하기 위해 HILIC-ESI-MS/MS(hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry)를 이용한 분석법을 개발하고, 선택성, 직선성, 검출한계, 정량한계, 정밀도, 정확성, 재현성에 대하여 분석법 유효성 검증을 수행했고, AOAC, EURACHEM 가이드라인에 부합되는 결과를 얻었다.

규사광산 지역의 강우시 비점오염원의 유출분석 (Analysis of NPS Pollution Loads over Rainfall-Runoff Events from the Silica Mine Site)

  • A silica mine monitoring was conducted from March to December in 2008 to measure rainfall, runoff amounts and pollution loads. A total of 13 rainfall-runoff events were measured and analyzed with respect to runoff ratio, pollutant concentration and load, and initial flush. Over rainfall-runoff events, 95% confidence range of SS concentration was 942.5~2,056.2 mg/L. Other measured water quality indices also showed relatively large variation. This wide concentration variation was thought to be caused by the bare working ground of the mine that was used to store, process and transport the mined silica. Total pollution load of the 13 rainfall-runoff events was SS 17,901 kg/ha, $COD_{Cr}$ 160.9 kg/ha, $COD_{Mn}$ 111.24 kg/ha, BOD 79.6 kg/ha, T-N 13.8 kg/ha, T-P 3.5 kg/ha, and TOC 39.3 kg/ha. Initial flush was not well observed except SS. Very high SS concentration and load was occurred when rainfall was large. Therefore, it was recommended to manage the bare ground not to discharge excessive pollutants during wet days by covering the ground or constructing runoff treatment systems such as a sediment basin.

강원도 춘천에서 측정한 PM2.5의 탄소 및 이온성분 농도 특성 및 고농도 사례 분석 (Characteristics of Ionic and Carbonaceous Compounds in PM2.5 and High Concentration Events in Chuncheon, Korea)

  • Anthropogenic emissions of $PM_{2.5}$ in Chuncheon are considered to be low according to the national emissions inventory; however, the atmospheric $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations have been reported to be higher than or at least similar to those measured in metropolitan (e.g. Seoul) and/or in industrial cities (e.g. Incheon, Ulsan). In this study, the concentrations of $PM_{2.5}$ and its ionic and carbonaceous compounds were measured from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2014 in Chuncheon, Korea to identify the characteristics of high $PM_{2.5}$ concentration event. Average $PM_{2.5}$ concentration was $34.6{\mu}g/m^3$, exceeding the annual air quality standard ($25{\mu}g/m^3$). The most abundant compound was organic carbon (OC), comprising 26% of $PM_{2.5}$ mass, followed by $SO_4{^{2-}}$. Among 14 high concentration events, three events showed clearly enhanced contributions of OC, $SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NO_3{^-}$ and $NH_4{^+}$ to $PM_{2.5}$ under the fog events. One event observed in summer showed high concentration of $SO_4{^{2-}}$ while the high wind speeds and the low $PM_{2.5}/PM_{10}$ ratios were observed for the two high concentration events. These results indicate that the secondary aerosol formation under the fog events and high atmospheric temperature as well as the regional and/or the long-range transport were important on enhancing $PM_{2.5}$ concentration in Chuncheon. Cluster analysis based on back trajectories also suggested the significant impacts of regional transport from China and metropolitan areas of Korea on $PM_{2.5}$ in Chuncheon.

확산측정기를 이용한 대전시 도로변에서의 이산화질소 측정 (Nitrogen Dioxide Measurement with Diffusive Passive Samplers at the Curbside Points in Daejeon)

  • This study investigates the variation and spatial distribution of nitrogen dioxide($NO_2$) concentrations measured with passive diffusive samplers at 40 curbside points in Daejeon. Average $NO_2$ concentration was $39.8{\pm}18.0\;ppb$ (n=1,127) and the significant difference in concentrations by regional groups (Dong-gu, Jung-gu, Seo-gu, Daedeok-gu, Yuseong-gu) was not observed. The frequency distribution of $NO_2$ concentration was found to be a normal distribution with the high frequency in the concentration range of 30 to 40 ppb (20 to 25%). Average $NO_2$ concentration measured during the rainy periods was lower than that measured during the non-rainy periods and the decrease of concentration by rainfall was about 16% (7 ppb). The variation of $NO_2$ concentrations measured by passive diffusive samplers during the sampling period was similar to that continuously measured at the air quality monitoring station.

  • 해수 중 용존영양염은 지구온난화의 주요 원인인 대기 중 이산화탄소 조절에 관여하는 해양의 역할을 이해하기 위한 핵심변수이다. 우리나라에서는 한반도 주변 해역의 해양환경 변화를 지속적으로 감시하기 위해 국가기관의 정기적인 관측과 다양한 연구과제수행을 통해 용존영양염 자료가 수집되고 있다. 이들 자료의 활용도를 높이기 위해 각 기관들의 자료를 통합하는 관할 해역 해양정보 공동활용시스템(Jurisdictional Ocean Information Sharing System, JOISS)이 구축되었다. 본 연구에서는 JOISS 용존영양염 자료에 대해 한반도 주변해역의 용존영양염 지역 농도 범위와 용존영양염과 다른 해양학적인 특성 및 용존영양염 성분들간의 상호관계를 이용한 일차 품질관리를 수행 하였다. 지역 농도 범위와 일차품질관리를 통합한 품질관리 표식을 제공함으로써 자료의 신뢰도를 향상하여 JOISS 용존영양염 자료의 활용도 증가에 기여하고자 하였다. 또한 JOISS 용존영양염 자료의 국제적인 상호비교성 향상에 필수적인 이차품질관리 방법을 제안하였다.

식육 중 항생제 flumequine의 분석 (Analysis of Flumeqnine in Meats)

  • 플루메퀸의 분석은 시료를 ethyl acetate로 추출 농축한 후 이 농축액에 acetonitrile과 n-hexane을 가하여 분리하고, 분리된 acetonitrile층을 농축하였다. 이를 이동상에 녹여 여과한 후 $C_{18}$ 컬럼을 이용한 HPLC-FLD로 분석하였다. 분석법은 표준물질 0.1-1.0mg/kg의 농도범위에서 직선성($r^2$=0.9979)을 나타냈으며, 검출한계는 0.005 mg/kg, 정량한계는 0.017 mg/kg이었다. 또한 회수율은 쇠고기에서 90.8-96.7%, 돼지고기에서 96.4-96.6%, 닭고기에서 94.0-101.1%이었으며, 상대표준편차(RSD)는 쇠고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기에서 각각 5.3-8.6%, 3.0-6.8%, 3.1-4.1%이었다. 확립된 분석방법으로 유통 중인 식육(쇠고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기) 150건을 전국 지역(서울, 부산, 대구, 대전, 광주)별로 수거하여 플루메퀸의 잔류 실태를 조사한 결과, 쇠고기 1건(0.080 mg/kg), 돼지고기 1건 (0.048 mg/kg)에서 검출되었으며, 조사한 식육 150건의 플루메퀸 잔류량은 모두 잔류허용기준 이하의 수준이었다.
