도시와 농촌 지역 구분 기준 연구 (A Study on the Classification Criteria Between Urban and Rural Area)

  • The objective is to find the classification criteria between urban and rural, and to classify the urban and rural area all the country in Korea. For the research objectives, reviews of related literature and statistical yearbooks were used for finding criteria and analysing data. Through reviewing the literature, some indicators were selected in views of rurality and urbanity, and gathered the data from statistical yearbooks. And factor analysis was used to find first and second factor for classifying region. Six factors as a city surrounding(36%), non-farmer household population ratio(28.1%), cultivated acreage(12.48%), agricultural production surrounding (12.40%), the farm family number change(5.58%) and household number rise and fall(5.54%) were finding. And rurality factors were cultivated acreage, agricultural production surrounding, the farm family number change and household number rise and fall, and urbanity factors were city surrounding and non-farmer household population ratio. Based on the first and second factor loaded amount, four type regional classification was followed.

부분계측 및 미계측 유역에서 기준유량 산정 방법 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Evaluating Standard Flow in Partially Gauged and Ungauged Watershed)

  • The Ministry of Environment has measured streamflow at eight-day intervals for the estimation of standard flow of the Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) system. This study identified the availability of the partially measured the eight-day interval data for estimating standard flow and found the optimal extension techniques of standard flow. The study area was selected for the Nakbon-A watershed in the Nakdong River, and four streamflow record extension techniques of standard flow were considered: extension, percentile, drainagearea, and regional regression methods. The flow duration curve (FDC) using the eight-day interval streamflow data indicated very high Nash and Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) values above 90 % from FDC-II to FDC-VII compared to FDC-VIII, the standard FDC. This result demonstrates that FDC using daily data of three-six cumulative years could represent standard FDC fairly well. For the streamflow record extension techniques of standard flow, the percentile method was selected as the optimal alternative, showing the minimal difference from FDC-VIII. These results validate the availability of the eight-day interval streamflow data in the standard flow estimation and the application of extension techniques. It seems that these results could reduce the uncertainty of partially measured streamflow data for water quantity and quality management.

벼농사 신기술 전파와 농업교육 및 농촌지도의 연계 (Diffusion of New Technology on Rice Farming and Linkages between Agricultural Education and Extension)

  • The purposes of the study were to; 1) examine the diffusion and adoption of new agricultural technology in rice farming, 2) survey the status of agricultural education institutions on technology transfer, and 3) explore the linkages between agricultural education and extension for more effective reinforcement strategies to further the diffusion and adoption of new agricultural technology in Korea. Literature review, field survey and panel discussions were employed to strengthen the linkages among agricultural education, research and extension in Korea. As the results of analysis of the diffusion and adoption of new agricultural technology in rice farming following recommendations were offered; 1. Extension services have helped Korean farmers in achieving self-sufficiency in rice and year-round supply of green vegetables as well as upbringing rural youth, however, government changed the status of extension educators from central government staff to county/city government staff since 1997. This brought about various problems such as: decreased morale and number of extension educators, thus weakening the extension education function, weakened linkages between national and local extension offices, less opportunity for in-service education of extension educators, and weakened linkages between agricultural research and extension, etc. 2. In order to insure that extension educators are high caliber professional individuals, it is crucial to establish a system that nationally recognizes these individuals as such, and that provides a professional development path. It is important to restore the morale of extension educators to continually achieve the national goals of food production, balanced national development and preservation of environment, at the same time to meet increasing needs of farmers. 3. Because of the critical importance of diffusing innovations to agricultural producers in order to ensure quality and steady food supply, it is crucial that these issues be addressed before the extension service further deteriorates. Further research activities on agricultural extension should be conducted for more effective agricultural extension system in Korea to achieve a greater rural, national and regional development. 4. Research and implementation activities should be emphasized and encouraged to improve the cooperation and collaboration among agricultural education research and extension to better serve farmers' educational and information needs. National level research activities should be encouraged to improve the effectiveness of agricultural technology transfer including internet education programs for farmers in Korea.

  • 양파 신품종 "영풍황"은 국립원예특작과학원 목포출장소에서 2008년에 육성한 $F_1$ 품종으로 주요특성과 수량성은 다음과 같다 1. 수확기의 지표인 도복기는 5월 26일로 중생종 품종이며 초형은 반개장형이다. 2. 구형은 넓은 달걀형이며 대고형 품종으로 수량성이 높다. 3. 저장성이 좋은 품종이며 평균수량은 83.4 MT/ha으로 다수성이다.

  • This study analyzed the probability that experiment stations, agricultural technology and extension centers, provincial agricultural research and extension services, central government organs, or civilian and other related organs will be the first choice of the compositional subjects of local innovation networks. While gender effect was statistically insignificant, educational level, income, main acquired information, sources of necessary information, and frequency of information acquisition sessions were significant, and the preference ranking model was highly relevant. According to the analysis, highly academic and business-related information was most likely to be acquired from the civilian sector; agricultural technology such as technology, crops/plants, storage, and circulation was most likely to be acquired from experiment stations and provincial agricultural research and extension services; and information on agricultural production was most likely to be acquired from agricultural technology centers.

농학계열 대학 졸업생의 취업분야를 통해 본 농산업영역 (Agribusiness Areas on the Employment Sector of Graduates of Agricultural Science college)

  • Most studies examining the sub-categories of agro-industry used to access an inter-industry analysis. However, These are some limitations that researchers set sub-categories differently according to their needs. Thus, This study aims to empirically explore the agro-industry sub-categories by area of academic research on agricultural science. The National Standard Science and Technology Classification(NSSTC) codes were used to classify academic research on agricultural science. This codes were examined the sub-categories using Korean input-output statistics industry and product classification by hiring 220 departments of 37 agricultural colleges. Results showed that studies using an inter-industry analysis coincided in terms of agricultural production, but showed differences in forward and backward linkage industries and services. Forward linkages industry were clearly limited to industries in which agricultural products are inputted as raw materials. Then, in terms of services related to agriculture, Previous studies represent fields such as transport and real estate, which are not included. Moreover, Research institutions overlooked by previous studies occupy an important position.

Regional Differences in Onion Bulb Quality and Nutrient Content, and the Correlation Between Bulb Characteristics and Storage Loss

  • Many onion growers and researchers assert that differences in soil type, agricultural practices, weather, and duration of prolonged onion cultivation in a particular field could affect onion bulb quality. This study evaluates the bulb quality of onions grown in different regions and determines the correlations between bulb characteristics and postharvest loss during cold and ambient storage. Soil and onion bulbs were collected from fields in six onion growing regions in Korea, during the growing season of 2011-2012. The fresh weight, dry matter content, and carbon (C), sulfur and magnesium contents of the onion bulbs were significantly affected by the location in which they were grown. Bulbs grown in Muan had the greatest number of scales, thinnest scale thickness, and the highest total soluble solids (TSS) and total flavonoids (TF). Bulbs originating from Jecheon had the lowest pyruvic acid (PA), total phenolics and TF. Storage loss of bulbs from the different regions was similar in refrigerated storage, but differed in ambient temperature storage. Bulb fresh weight was positively correlated with scale thickness (r = 0.617) and cold storage loss (CSL; r = 0.398). Dry matter content was positively correlated with C (r = 0.958) and TF (r = 0.256) contents, while it was negatively correlated with CSL (r = -0.424). CSL was primarily affected by the fresh weight, as well as the dry matter, C, and PA contents of the bulbs, while ambient storage loss was primarily influenced by the amount of TSS.

정식 후 초기 관수횟수 감소에 따른 배추 뿌리혹병 발생 억제효과 (Suppression Effect of Clubroot Disease by Reduced Irrigation Times after Planting in Chinese Cabbage)

  • 배추재배에서 뿌리혹병은 세계적으로 가장 문제가 되고 있는 병 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 배추 정식 후 관수횟수가 뿌리혹병의 발생 정도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 폿트와 포장에서 실시되었다. 토양수분장력 별 시험에서 토양수분장력 별 관수횟수는 적을수록 발병도가 낮은 경향이었다. 상품수량은 0.06 MPa 처리구에서 10a당 5,306 kg으로서 다른 처리보다 증수하여 가장 경제적인 관수개시점으로 나타났다. 향후 적정 살균제 처리조합 혹은 저항성 품종 재식시의 관수 횟수에 대한 보강 연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다.

농촌마을 유형별 주민역량교육에 관한 연구 - 색깔있는 마을 만들기를 중심으로 - (A Study on Residents' Competency Education Needs of Rural Village Types - Focused on the Building up Rural Village Revitalization -)

  • The rural development business policy of our country is seeking to change the existing top-down development method to the bottom-up development one. As residents' participation in village development is being focused, residents competence has come to be considered important. Thus, this study classified the village type by investigating resources of the target villages in Chungcheongnam-do through a rural forum, and examined education needs targeting the residents of the villages through a survey. The preferred the types, of education according to the types of farm villages were examined. It is needed to raise the efficiency of enhancing village development competence by regarding execution of the priority of competence enhancing education as a practical strategy. This also can be used as the baseline data for rural catchment typing research.
