  • In generally, the resolution of reconstructed three-dimensional images can be seriously degraded by undesired occlusions in the integral imaging system, because the undesired information of the occlusion overlap the three-dimensional images to be reconstructed. To solve the problem of the undesired occlusion, we present an exemplar-based image restoration method in integral imaging system. In the proposed method, a minimum spanning tree-based stereo matching method is used to remove the region of undesired occlusions in each elemental image. After that, the removed occlusion region of each elemental images are re-established by using the exemplar-based image restoration method. For further improve the performance of the image restoration, the structure tensor is used to solve the filling error cause by discontinuous structures. Finally, the resolution enhanced three-dimensional images are reconstructed by using the restored elemental images. The preliminary experiments are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper describes a method to estimate the noise power using the minimum statistics approach, which was originally proposed for audio processing. The proposed minimum statistics-based method separates a noisy image into multiple frequency bands using the three-level discrete wavelet transform. By assuming that the output of the high-pass filter contains both signal detail and noise, the proposed algorithm extracts the region of pure noise from the high frequency band using an appropriate threshold. The region of pure noise, which is free from the signal detail part and the DC component, is well suited for minimum statistics condition, where the noise power can be extracted easily. The proposed algorithm reduces the computational load significantly through the use of a simple processing architecture without iteration with an estimation accuracy greater than 90% for strong noise at 0 to 40dB SNR of the input image. Furthermore, the well restored image can be obtained using the estimated noise power information in parametric image restoration algorithms, such as the classical parametric Wiener or ForWaRD image restoration filters. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can estimate the noise power accurately, and is particularly suitable for fast, low-cost image restoration or enhancement applications.

  • As a serials of researches for the restoration model of evergreen broad-leaved forests, the restoration strategies of the case study areas were proposed. Restoration type of vegetation were classified into an improvement type and a reconstruction type and a reconstruction type for Wando(Island). Improvement type of restoration was suggested for Mokdo(Island). Quercus acuta community, Q. salicina community, Neolitsea sericea community, Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii community, Machilus thunbergii community, Cinnamomum japonicum community, etc. were suggested as a restoration goal of vegetation for Sando(Island). Machlus thunvergii community was suggested as a restoration goal of vegetation for Mokdo(Island). Also the species restoration olan of the Wando(Island) was prepared for Quercus salicina of Fagaceae and Ostrya japonica of Betulaceae those which the natural distribution and population size were very limited. There was no species which needed for species restoration urgently at Mokdo(Island).

  • Beyond river restoration focused on the inside region of main streams up to now, the river restoration including the outside region of streams has been started recently. As a part of this attempt, the restoration of abandoned rivers has been tried, but the development of a suitable model to quantitatively assess the improvement of hydraulic and ecological connectivity is not still satisfying. In this study, a grid - based hydraulic analysis model to evaluate the recovery of ecological connectivity through the restoration of abandoned rivers has been developed. In order to examine the applicability of this model, the ecohydaulic connectivity of the Cheongmi River Project area in Notap region was evaluated. This model can promptly and simply analyze the temporal and spatial distribution of the hydraulic and ecological characteristics, and it can be used as a appropriate tool to assess the hydraulic and ecological connectivity in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of ecotourism with an endangered species, Crested ibis (Nipponia nippon). To achieve the goal, this study evaluated the concern on the Crested ibis and wetland environment by the public, the interest on the regional development, restoration of the Crested ibis, and interest to the region, and also, the behavioral intentions of the visitors to the Upo wetland. It was found that there were significant relationship between perceptions on the Crested ibis and the interests of the environment, perceptions of Crested ibis and the interest to region, perceptions of the Crested ibis restoration and interest to the environment, perceptions of Crested ibis restoration and the interests to the region, and the interest to the environment and behavioral intentions. But there was no significant relationship between the interests to the region and behavioral intentions.

  • This study has been carried out to confirm public opinion on city restoration project, to suggest basic direction of future city restoration, and to suggest improvement polices, and finally, to grow as self-supporting social enterprises rehabilitating local economy to stabilize themselves as a model for job creation. In this study, we reviewed city restoration projects and suggested successive model by collecting various policy data for regional social service linking them with social enterprises, and for social job creation, based on city restoration projects.

  • There is a difficulty for many practioner in anterior direct restroation with composit resin. Because its result is various according to patient, a practioner have a fear about that unpromisable result. Moreover in esthetic region, there is difference in satisfaction by patient character. That is one of difficulty in this practice. But if we make a manual for parctice it will be easier. So I will summarize the process and things to note in direct anterior composite resin restoration.

  • Temporary restoration is one of the important processes in prosthodontic treatment, but some clinicians do not care about it. Most temporary restorations are literally used for a while, so most dentists like fast and cheap things. With the advent of dental CAD/CAM that can be made faster and easier with the changing age, the production of temporary restoration is also being digitized. It is good to be comfortable, but there are advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we are going to look at the 'analogue aesthetic anterior teeth temporary method' which seems to be the last generation.

  • In case of gingival recession and alveolar bone defects due to tooth loss for a long period of time in a single tooth in the maxillary anterior region, it is not easy to obtain aesthetic results with a single implant prosthesis. For aesthetic restoration, it is important to preserve hard and soft tissues through alveolar bone augmentation as well as restore harmony with adjacent teeth and soft tissues by placing the implant in an ideal location. In this case, an implant was placed using guided bone regeneration and a connective tissue graft simultaneously with immediate implantation after extraction from the maxillary anterior region where only residual root was left for a long period of time.

  • This study was conducted to supply basic data for restoration and management of forests in Civilian Control Zone, with surveying naturalized plants around abandoned military camps. The total study sites are 72 abandoned military camps, from Gosung in east region to Paju in west region of Civilian Control Zone. The naturalized index of total area is 12.6%, and naturalized index of east and middle regions are 12.1% and 8.4%. But its index of west region is 15.9%. These results are due to geographical characteristics. The east and middle regions are in steep mountainous districts, and so but west region is flat district, and so naturalized plants was imported by only army. But west region is in flat districts, and so imported method of naturalized plants is very various. The main naturalized plants are Ambrosia trifida and Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior in Civilian Control Zone. The main dispersion pattern of naturalized plants are gravity dispersion pattern ($D_4$) and wind and water dispersion pattern ($D_1$). The all naturalized plants are photophilic plants in survey sites. And so, if abandoned military camps are recovered to forests, the naturalized plants are disappeared because of the change of sunlight condition. So it is necessary to manage and recover forests, even if that area is Civilian Control Zone.
