광역상수도용 펌프의 전양정 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Total Head Decision of Pump for Regional Water Supply Facilities)

  • An extensive range of pumping facilities are employed in the regional water supply system in metropolitan areas, and optimization and the systematic combination of the Pump facilities have direct bearing on the stability and economy of the water supply system concerned. These systems must be able to guarantee stability, efficiency and offer high reliability. Preparation of metropolitan area regional water supply system construction project must include a basic plan which takes into account the suitability of pumping facilities to be used, the environment in which facilities will be installed, man-power requirements and basic operational and management policies. This paper contains over-all analysis of the management of metropolitan area regional water supply systems as like Jayang, Paldang 1st pump station. In the study, it aims to prepare counterplan which will be operated and managed the pump upon the operational conditions and to suggest the proposal for water facilities codes to decides total head of pump in Korea.

This paper contains over-all analysis of the management of metropolitan area regional water supply systems and highlights the cause of Inefficiency and energy waste and puts forward a remedial plan of action. In addition, pump/motor specification programs were developed using Visual Basic to assist selection of the same.

  • The Pump/Motor Selection Program for optimized selection of regional water supply facilities was developed based on a flowchart compiled from basic operational data, total head requirement, initial pump/motor specification selection etc.. This program was developed in Visual Basic. The program accepts, as in the flowchart, operational requirements of pumps and other system requirements and calculates specific speed based on flow rate, total head and na Then the calculated specific speed is used to select pump types and rpm Prior to determining likelihood of cavitation occurring at the calculated NPSH. Power requirement is then calculated for safe operation of pump to assist final pump selection. Test results of the program matches very closely to the design values of Paldang intake pump station(3rd stage) proving that the program can be used as an effective and practical aid for designing new regional water supply systems.

  • The objective of the study is to assess the water quality improvement resulted from the rearrangement of the irrigation water supply systems at Mankyeong River and Ansung Chun basin. There is a mixed type of watershed composed of urban and rural areas in the region. The water intake facilities for agricultural use such as reservoir, weir and pumping station are generally located at upstream river where the water quality maintains relatively clean. However, this study focuses on moving the water intake to downstream and rearranging the irrigation water supply system, then investigating how effective they are for water quality improvement in the river. When the water intake is moved downstream, the stream flow is increased as much as the amount of irrigation water that is to be taken upstream. The augmented flow which is frequently referred to as environmental flow can function as dilution water for improving the quality of polluted water that is originated from the wastewater in tributaries.

제주도 권역별 농업용수 수요량 산정에 대한 고찰 (Estimation of Regional Agricultural Water Demand over the Jeju Island)

  • Over 96.2% of the agricultural water in Jeju Island is obtained from groundwater and there are quite distinct characteristics of agricultural water demand/supply spatially because of regional and seasonal differences in cropping system and rainfall amount. Land use for cultivating crops is expected to decrease 7.4% (4,215 ha) in 2020 compared to 2010, while market garden including various vegetable crop types having high water demand is increasing over the Island, especially western area having lower rainfall amount compared to southern area. On the other hand, land use for fruit including citrus and mandarin having low water demand is widely distributed over southern and northern part having higher rainfall amount. The agricultural water demand of $1,214{\times}10^3\;m^3/day$ in 2020 is estimated about 1.39 times compared to groundwater supply capacity of $874{\times}10^3\;m^3/day$ in 2010 with 42.4% of eastern, 103.1% of western, 61.9% of southern, and 77.0% of northern region. Moreover, net secured amount of agricultural groundwater would be expected to be much smaller due to regional disparity of water demand/supply, the lack of linkage system between the agricultural water supply facilities, and high percentage of private wells. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the total net secured amount of agricultural groundwater to overcome the expected regional discrepancy of water demand and supply by establishing policy alternative of regional water supply plan over the Island, including linkage system between wells, water tank enlargement, private wells maintenance and public wells development, and continuous enlargement of rainwater utilization facilities.

  • The Philippine government enacted the National Water Crisis Act in 1995, as a response to the burgeoning situation of water supply systems in the country. This act led to the privatization of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), sector having jurisdiction and control over all waterworks and sewerage systems in a service area including Metro Manila. Nowadays, the region's supply of water is still facing a lot of difficulties, both in quality and quantity. The unabated migration of people to the metro which increases its population, tapping from the aged pipelines, lack of water facilities and infrastructure, excessive groundwater withdrawal, environmental degradation, and surface and groundwater pollution are some of the issues that Metro Manila have to deal with. These situations lead to two primary water supply issues suffered by Metro Manila: water shortage and flooding. The purpose of this paper was to present water supply in Metro Manila with respect to the problems in its distribution, environmental implications and quality. In this paper, several technical reports, published literature, and news articles were consulted and became the major basis for identifying gaps and suggesting remedial measures.

수문학적 가뭄지수와 가상가뭄훈련에 의한 저수지의 최적 물 공급 방안 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Water Supply using Virtual Drought Exercise with Hydrological Drought Index)

  • 가뭄은 장시간동안 강수의 부족으로 발생하는 자연현상이며, 지역에 따라 해마다 여러 가지 피해를 발생시키고 있다. 특히 1994$\sim$1995년과 2001년에 발생한 가뭄은 피해가 매우 심각하였으며 중.소규모의 저수지가 바닥을 드러냈을 뿐 아니라 상당한 경제적인 손실도 발생하였다. 하지만 가뭄관리계획에 의해 저수지를 통한 최적의 물 공급방안을 제시함으로써 이러한 피해들을 최소화 시킬 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 최적의 저수지 운영을 위한 전문가시스템을 개발하여 수문학적 가뭄지수인(Modified Surface Water Supply Index, MSWSI) 값과 저수지 유입량과의 연계를 통한 가상가뭄모의운영(Virtual Drought Exercise, VDE)을 실시한 후 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 가뭄단계에 따른 댐 운영대안을 제시하였다. 가상가뭄모의운영으로 여러 가지 가뭄사상에 대한 효과적인 장 단기 대안을 도출할 수 있었으며 가뭄기간동안 최적의 물 공급방안을 준비하는데 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.

신재생에너지의 온실가스감축 기여도에 따른 지역별 보급전략 (Regional Supply Strategies for Renewable Energy Sources based on Contribution Level of GHG Emission Reduction)

  • This study examines the contribution level of greenhouse gas(GHG) emission reduction and installation costs of renewable energy facilities. The GHG emission forecasts and industrial structures in the 16 regions of Korea are then analyzed to identify the proper supply of renewable energy sources for each region. The results show that water power is the most effective and efficient renewable energy source to reduce GHG emissions, followed by sunlight, wind power, geothermal heat, and solar heat, respectively. The 16 regions are then categorized into 4 groups based on their GHG emission forecast and industrial structure: high emission and manufacturing group, low emission and manufacturing group, low emission and service group, and high emission and service group. The proper supply of renewable energy sources for each group is then determined based on the contribution level and cost efficiency of GHG emission reduction.

축사가 밀집된 농촌지역 천부지하수의 질산염 오염특성 (Nitrate Contamination of Shallow Groundwater in an Agricultural area having Intensive Livestock Facilities)

  • 지하수 의존도가 큰 농촌지역에서 주로 사용하는 천부지하수는 오염에 민감하므로, 인간활동에 의한 질산성 질소 오염이 생활용수 공급에 큰 문제가 되고 있다. 농경활동과 함께 다양한 규모의 축사가 운영되고 있는 경기도 일죽지역 천부지하수에 대한 질산염 연구결과, 인위적 오염물질 유입이 예상되는 지점이 77%, 먹는물 수질기준을 초과하는 지점이 32~42%로 나타났다. 질소동위원소 분석 결과, 인위적 오염물질 유입이 예상되는 지점은 모두 $\delta^{15}$N-$NO_3$가 5$\textperthousand$ 이상으로 나타났으며, 59%지점이 동물분뇨에서 유래된 질소의 영향을 강하게 받고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구지역 천부지하수의 질산성 질소 주 오염 원인은 밀집된 축사로 밝혀졌으며, 운영이 종료된 축사라도 오랫동안 지하수질에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다. 축종에 따라 오염원의 화학적 특성이 다른데, 지표수게는 그 영향이 나타나지만, 지하로 유입되는 동안 반응에 의하여 일부 용질이 제거되므로 지하수에서는 오염원 차이에 의한 영향이 나타나지 않았다.

미래 시나리오 기반 낙동강 유역의 용수공급 안정성 평가 (Evaluation on the water supply stability of nakdong river basin based on future scenarios)

  • 최근 국내에서는 기후변화가 용수공급에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가한 사례가 많지 않으며 이와 관련된 다양한 정보를 제공하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 미래의 안정적인 용수공급을 위해 미래 다양한 상황에 대한 분석을 통한 수자원 계획이 절실하다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강 유역을 대상으로 미래 다양한 상황을 시나리오로 구성하고 각 시나리오 경로에 대한 물 수급 전망을 통해 용수공급의 안정성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 용수공급의 어려움을 겪을 것으로 예상되는 물 공급 취약지역을 선정하여 제시하였으며 지역별, 용도별 물 부족 시나리오를 전망하였다. 또한 용수공급시설물의 최적연계 운영을 통해 용수공급 능력 증대 효과도 분석하여 제시하였다. 향후 낙동강 유역에는 기후변화 등으로 인해 용수공급의 어려움이 예상됨에 따라 이를 완화 또는 해소하기 위해서 보다 다양한 대책 마련이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.
