The regenerative evaporative cooler(REC) is to cool a stream of air using evaporative cooling effect without an increase in the humidity ratio. In the regenerative evaporative cooler, the air can be cooled down to a temperature lower than its inlet wet-bulb temperature. Besides the cooling performance, for practical application of the regenerative evaporative cooler, the compactness of the system is also a very important factor to be considered. In this respect, three different configurations, i.e., the flat plate type, the corrugated plate type, and the finned channel type are investigated and compared for the most compact configuration. The optimal structure of each configuration is obtained individually to minimize the volume for a given effectiveness within a limit of the pressure drop. Comparing the three optimal structures, the finned channel type is found to give the most compact structure among the considered configurations. The volume of the regenerative cooler can be reduced to 1/8 by adopting the finned channel type as compared to that of the flat plate type.
For the compactness of regenerative combustion, self regenerative combustion and embedding regenerator inside furnace are proposed. The Self Regenerative burner system was developed to enhance thermal efficiency and Low Nox emission. In the twin regenerative system, two burner heads are generally used for preheating and exhausting combustion mode. But self regenerative burner system use only single nozzle body for regenerative combustion. Also two kind of regenerator, internal and external type, were designed to operate conveniently in both large and small furnace. According to test result, the self regenerative combustion system gives strong internal exhaust gas recirculation that reduce NOx emission significantly. NOx was measured as 50ppm(5% O2, 1290C furnace temperature). Also it is found that the fuel saving rate due to the self regenerative burner system reach to 30-40%. Thus it can be concluded that self regenerative mild combustion system appears to provide a reasonable regenerative burner for compactness and high performance as compared with conventional twin regenerative burner system. Also in the RT Application , compact twin regenerative burner was developed with the help of embedding regenerator inside furnace.
The performances of side channel type regenerative blowers were evaluated by the blower performance test, 1-D performance prediction and CFD. The performance prediction method was modified using the results of the performance test and CFD and applied to the design of the new regenerative blowers. The major geometric parameters such as channel height, channel area and expansion angle were decided from the performance prediction method for the improved models and the predicted results were compared with CFD and experimental data. Both of the modified models showed improved efficiency at the operating condition. Especially, model3 could be possible to reduce operating rotating speed, that is benefit to noise performance, because of the high head performance at the design point. The CFD results showed that the performance of the regenerative blower was influenced by the secondary circulatory flow in the channel.
Open channel type regenerative pump has been used in various industrial fields. It generates high pressure with low flow rate. However, it has low efficiency because of its complex flow pattern, We studied performance experiments and 3D numerical flow analysis of a regenerative pump. Through the numerical analysis, we could get the internal flow pattern and profile of a regenerative pump. Also, we examined leakage flow effects due to the gap between casing and impeller and stripper clearance. For the numerical analysis verification, we performed experiments and they had similar tendency at the design point.
Vertebrates regenerate tissues in three ways: proliferation of cells that maintain some or all of their differentiated structure and function, redifferentiation of mature cells followed by proliferation and redifferentiation into the same cell type or transdetermination to another cell type, and activation of restricted lineage stem cells, which have the ability to transdetermine to different lineages under the appropriate conditions. The behavior of the cells during regeneration is regulated by growth factors and extracellular matrix molecules. Some non-regenerating tissues are now known to harbor stem cells which, though they form scar tissue in vivo, are capable of producing new tissue-specific cells in vitro, suggesting that the injury environment inhibits latent regenerative capacity. Regenerative medicine seeks to restore tissues via transplantation of stem cell derivatives, implantation of bioartificial tissues, or stimulation of regeneration in vivo. These approaches have been partly successful, but several research issues must be addressed before regenerative medicine becomes a clinical reality.

The use of regenerative energy in AC drive systems has been an issue since the system became an industry standard in the 1990s. According to the quantity of the regenerative energy, the braking resistor in the case of low capacity was common. However the use of such low amount of energy is actively discussed, and the method of mounting the regenerative converter is becoming popular. In this paper, an isolated regenerative converter for reducing the circulating current which is mentioned as the biggest disadvantage of the conventional power regenerative converter system is proposed. In order to save energy, employing a power regenerative converter system for utilizing regenerative energy in an AC drive system is common. However due to the structure of the system, a circulating current is generated, which inevitably causes a decrease in efficiency. In this paper, an isolated regenerative power converter system is proposed to solve the circulating current and computer simulation to verify the possibility. The simulation results show that 20% of the circulating current of the conventional system does not appear in the proposed system, and the validity of the proposed system is confirmed.
An experimental studies of conventional gasoline fuel pump were carried out to obtain fundamental data fur liquid phase LPG injection(LPLi) system. A regenerative type and a roller-vane type of pumps were investigated in various operational condition. The experiments were performed to obtain flow rate of LPG fuel as a function of pressure differences and temperatures. The regenerative pump had too low flow rate at some experimental conditions to use this pump system for LPLi fuel supply system. On the other hand, the roller-vane type pump can be applied to the system only if its check valve is modified. Cavitation might occur in this system which can result in system noise, flow rate variation, and pump durability problem. To solve these problems the system is needed to increase $NPSH_{re}$(required net positive suction head).
Recently, much attention has been paid to utilizing highly preheated air up to $1,000^{\circ}C$ through waste gas in industrial furnaces. The regenerative burner technology has shown to provide significant reduction in energy consumption (up to 60%), downsizing of the equipment (about 30%) and lower emissions (about 30%) while maintaining high thermal performance of the system since 2000. The object of this study is to develop the flameless regenerative burner for industrial furnaces based on the FLOX(Flameless Oxidation) principle and it has been designed and manufactured as pilot scale. Performance tests are experimentally done and their results are discussed. They showed 1) a very good uniformity in temperature distribution, 2) about 100 ppm in NOx at the temperature $1,300^{\circ}C$, 3) about 95% in temperature efficiency. Besides, the regenerative burner has advantage in easy maintenance and high usage rate of regenerator due to the separate and portable type of heat exchanger.

This paper presents a solution that an analytical model for an induction motor and the formula of regenerative power and instantaneous torque are derived. based on the spiral vector. The torque is controlled linearly through variations of the slip angular velocity, based on the field acceleration method (FAM). And also PWM inverter fed induction motor drives is schemed to be easily a regenerative drive. The voltage source inverter fed induction motor drives that regenerative power occurs with back current type is presented, to easily controlled the feedback power and to proper the adaption of energy shaving drives. The experimental tests verify the performance of the FAM, proving that food behavior of the drive is achieved in the transient and steady state operating condition, and are discussed to save the power that regenerative power is measured at the operating acceleration or deceleration of servo system.

In this work, we conducted a study of fuel consumption characteristics and regenerative braking recovery rate by conducting an experiment using a TMED type parallel hybrid electric vehicle. As regenerative braking technology is considered essential to improve the energy efficiency of the hybrid vehicle, it is necessary to conduct research on the regenerative braking system. Therefore, the electrical characteristics, current balance, and fuel consumption were investigated using an EC type chassis dynamometer with experimental conditions as per IM240 mode. From the results, it was observed that when the initial SOC condition was lower, the engine operating time of the hybrid vehicle increased, and the energy efficiency decreased. While operating in the driving mode characteristics condition and the driving characteristics condition, the difference in the average fuel consumption was not significant. However, after completion of the experiment, there was a difference in the engine operation.
