Pine Forest Soil Characteristics and Major Soil Impact Factors for Natural Regeneration

  • This study was conducted to identify characteristics of domestic pine forest soils and to elucidate major soil influencing factors for natural regeneration. We analyzed the physico-chemical characteristics of the soil samples collected from 23 pine forests and confirmed the similar results with the forest soil characteristics. Soil pH, organic matter content, total nitrogen, exchangeable Ca, silt content, and exchangeable Al were selected as the major soil factors among the exposed soils through 10 days of pine seedlings exposure and cultivation experiments and statistical analysis. Multiple regression analysis showed that soil pH had a positive effect on specific root length (SRL) of red pine seedlings and exchangeable Al was a significant factor affecting negative change in SRL. Taken together, the reduction of exchangeable Al by soil pH adjustment would be helpful for natural regeneration by restoring the forest and improving the fine root and root integrity of pine seedlings. Therefore, soil pH and exchangeable Al could be recommended as a major soil factor to be carefully considered in the monitoring and management of soil in pine forests that need to be renewed in the future.

코로나19 사태에 따른 강원도 도시재생사업 운영 변화와 과제 (A Study on Changes and Challenges in Operation of Urban Regeneration Project in Gangwon-do Due to COVID-19)

  • This study aims to suggest the direction of urban regeneration policies of Gangwon-do in accordance with COVID-19 outbreak, and the results are as follows. First, it is inevitable to urgently execute the project from the perspective of cities and counties in Gangwon-do, where the promotion of urban regeneration projects has been delayed due to COVID-19 incident. As a result, it is highly likely to cause the employees overloaded and have negative effect on achieving the goals of urban regeneration, so, it is necessary to provide support measures at the government and provincial level, such as the actual execution index and the adjusting time of start and completion of particular business. Second, as the uncertainty of COVID-19 continues, it needs to strengthen the operation and monitoring of urban regeneration support centers in Gangwon-do and examine the changes in business operation plans in advance. In particular, the decrease in visitors to traditional markets and restaurants is expected to have a direct effect on small business owners engaged in the service industry. Therefore, it is necessary to actively consider the utilization plans of smart city regeneration, such as online shopping and non-contact payment. Third, it is necessary to phase in smart urban regeneration training focused on information weakness to narrow the digital gap, in preparation for general lifestyle changes such as contactless and non-face-to-face interactions. At a time when new light is being shed on local areas, which are quieter than heavily populated cities, a project that reflects the regional characteristics and culture of Gangwon-do is necessary.

  • Uncontrolled regeneration characteristics of two different type SiC DPFs(diesel particulate filters) were investigated by DPF test rig devised to facilitate DPF evaluation, especially for regeneration and MSL(maximum soot loading) test similar to engine dynamometer test. In order to estimate the limits of maximum filter temperature and temperature gradient causing filter fracture, such as crack or whitening, the temperature distributions inside the filter were measured by thermocouples. The maximum filter temperature was observed near the rear plane of central filter region due to heat accumulation by exothermic reaction of PM but the maximum temperature gradient occurred at the boundary of high filter temperature. These two parameters induced the different SiC DPFs to fracture with different modes, whitening and crack.

  • The diesel particulate filter(DPF) is effective for particulate removal from diesel engine under a variety of conditions, and then the regeneration strategies is very important in the aspects of engine fuel consumption and engine durability. This paper addresses the changes of Peugeot 406 vehicle engine parameters(fuel injection timing, period, rail pressure, emissions exhaust temperature so on) during DPF regeneration. additionally, checked the soot loading mass with mileage and the change of fuel consumption and performance with ash accumulation.

도시재생사업에서의 사회복지사업 유형 및 내용 분석 (A Study on Typology and Contents of Social Welfare Programs in Urban Regeneration Projects)

  • 본 연구는 도시재생에 대한 기존의 물리적 접근의 한계를 극복하고자 추진 중인 최근 도시재생의 흐름속에서 사회복지적 접근의 실체를 파악하고 사회복지 기법의 정착과 확대에 필요한 제안 사항을 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 도시재생 선도지역과 주거취약지역의 사업계획서에서 내용분석의 방법을 적용하여 사회복지 사업을 추출하였으며 사업들을 특성과 형태에 따라 유형화하였다. 분석 결과 도시재생 지역의 사회복지사업은 경제적 기반마련, 복지중심 주거환경개선, 지역사회통합추구, 사회서비스제공의 4가지 유형으로 나타났으며, 각 유형은 다시 12개의 세부 유형으로 분류되었다. 연구 결과를 토대로 향후 도시재생사업에 사회복지기법이 안정적으로 운영되기 위하여 지역특성에 맞는 일자리 연계, 사업수행과정에서 당사자의 적극적 참여, 지역사회통합을 위한 역량 강화, 사회서비스 확대 제공이 필요하다는 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • 2017년도부터 시작된 도시재생뉴딜사업은 중요한 도시정비수단이 되고 있다. 안양 명학마을 도시재생사업은 2017년도에 선정된 사업으로서 2021년 현재 4년차 사업이 진행되고 있는데, 그동안 사업추진과정에서 많은 갈등이 발생하였으며, 앞으로도 갈등 발생이 예상되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 명학마을 도시재생사업을 대상으로 하여 .어떠한 갈등이 어떠한 형태로 발생하고 각각의 단계에서 어떠한 해결방안을 통해 갈등을 해결하였는지를 밝히는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 명학마을 도시재생사업에서 발생한 갈등 양상의 특성(①도시재생사업에서의 지속적인 갈등의 발생, ②다양한 갈등 주체 및 내용으로 구성, ③갈등관련 조직의 역할 미비, ④갈등발생 및 해결에서의 주민 소통의 중요성)과 향후 도시재생사업에서 갈등관리를 위한 시사점(①지속적인 갈등관리 방안 마련, ②갈등관리 조직의 조기 구성과 역할 강화, ③갈등관리를 위한 주민과의 소통, ④사업추진단계별 맞춤형 갈등관리)을 제시하였다.

Tissue integration patterns of non-crosslinked and crosslinked collagen membranes: an experimental in vivo study

  • Purpose: Non-crosslinked and crosslinked collagen membranes are known to exhibit distinct degradation characteristics, resulting in contrasting orientations of the adjacent tissues and different biological processes. The aim of this study was to conduct a histomorphometric assessment of non-crosslinked and crosslinked collagen membranes regarding neovascularization, tissue integration, tissue encapsulation, and biodegradation. Methods: Guided bone regeneration was performed using either a non-crosslinked (BG) or a crosslinked collagen membrane (CM) in 15 beagle dogs, which were euthanized at 4, 8, and 16 weeks (n=5 each) for histomorphometric analysis. The samples were assessed regarding neovascularization, tissue integration, encapsulation, the remaining membrane area, and pseudoperiosteum formation. The BG and CM groups were compared at different time periods using nonparametric statistical methods. Results: The remaining membrane area of CM was significantly greater than that of BG at 16 weeks; however, there were no significant differences at 4 and 8 weeks. Conversely, the neovascularization score for CM was significantly less than that for BG at 16 weeks. BG exhibited significantly greater tissue integration and encapsulation scores than CM at all time periods, apart from encapsulation at 16 weeks. Pseudoperiosteum formation was observed in the BG group at 16 weeks. Conclusions: Although BG membranes were more rapidly biodegraded than CM membranes, they were gradually replaced by connective tissue with complete integration and maturation of the surrounding tissues to form dense periosteum-like connective tissue. Further studies need to be performed to validate the barrier effect of the pseudoperiosteum.

도시재생에 따른 주거재정착 결정요인 분석 (Analysis of Determinants on Residential Resettlement in Accordance with Urban Regeneration)

  • 본 연구는 부산시 19개 주택재개발사업구역의 7,396명의 표본을 대상으로 도시재생에 의한 지역주민의 주거재정착 여부와 그 비용에 대한 결정요인을 소유자 특성과 토지 및 건축물 특성, 단지특성, 입지특성 등의 변수를 통해 실증분석하였다. 도시재생에 의한 주거재정착과 주거재정착 비용에 대한 결정요인 분석결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 도시재생에 의한 주거재정착을 결정짓는 요인으로는 소유자의 연령, 거주지, 부동산의 보유기간, 투자여부, 소유권외 권리 등의 설정 등의 소유자 특성과 해당 토지의 지목, 건축물의 용도, 토지와 건축물의 면적과 허가유무, 보상액 등의 토지 및 건축물 특성, 시공사의 브랜드, 조합원 할인액, 단지규모, 중대형 주택의 비율, 녹지율, 건폐율, 용적률 등의 단지특성과 대생활권을 나타내는 입지특성으로 구성된다. 반면, 단지특성에서는 시공사의 브랜드 가치, 중대형 주택의 비율, 용적률 등 주택의 가치를 향상시킬 수 있는 조건들이 주민들의 재정착을 유도하는데 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

An Interpretation of the Urban Folly in Gwangju, South Korea Through the Lens of Contextual Novelty

  • Urban regeneration, which implies a certain type of change from what has previously existed, requires fundamental understandings of previous problematic ways of thinking for a meaningful change, as well as a new philosophy that is thought to support that change. This means a change in philosophy is needed to discuss 'newness' in urban regeneration. From this perspective, this paper explores the philosophies which shaped traditional cities as well as a philosophy that may be able to suggest changes to contemporary cities. This paper further proposes contextual novelty as necessary to pursue. This contextual novelty does not deny modern cities' problems but embraces them and carries them into contemporary cities. Arguing for qualitative novelty, this paper argues that contextualism, which explores the complex relationships of direct and indirect contributors of a given event, can help us to understand contemporary cities' heterogenic characteristics. In this context, this paper discusses the concept of novelty in contemporary discourse of urban regeneration by using the philosophy of contextualism. Finally a recent example of urban regeneration in the city of Gwangju, South Korea is interpreted using the concept of contextual novelty.

흡수/재생 연속공정에서 AMP+HMDA를 이용한 이산화탄소의 제거 (The Removal of Carbon Dioxide using AMP+HMDA in Absorption/Regeneration Continuous Process)

  • Increasing amounts of anthropogenic $CO_2$ emitted to the atmosphere are believed to be a significant factor in global climate change. Hence, the method of chemical absorption has been suggested to separate and recover acid gases such as $CO_2$. In this study, the characteristics of absorption and regeneration of $CO_2$ for the absorbent which adding HMDA (hexamethylenediamine) into AMP (2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol), hindered amine, was investigated in lab-scale absorption/regeneration reactor. As a result of this study, the removal efficiency of $CO_2$ increased when adding $5.9\%,\;11.7\%\;and\;23.4\%$ HMDA into $30\%$ AMP respectively. Also, the removal efficiency of $CO_2$ increased $6.5\%,\;8.4\%,\;10.3\%$ respectively as compared to AMP alone when the gas flow rate was 7.5 SL/min. In addition, all absorbents used in the study revealed the high stripping efficiency, which was almost $99\%$, at the temperature of $110^{\circ}C$. Thus, the regeneration tower should be operated at $110^{\circ}C$. At this time, the concentration of exhausted $CO_2$ was higher than $99\%$.
