The received field strength is varied with the electrical characteristics of the reflection medium in the case of the line-of-sight. To obtain the electrical characteristics of medium, the relationship between reflection coefficients and complex dielectric constants of the medium is derived, and a equation of circle which is related to reflection coefficient and ratio of transmitted power to received one is represented. A algorithm is proposed, which is to predict the electrical characteristics of the medium by using the received field strength.
This study analyze of reflection wave to Acoustic stimulation on acupoints and contrast parts for objectification of the meridian substance. In order to verify meridian pathway and channel theory of bio-energy in body. It was analyzed response characteristic of reflection waves after acoustic stimulation by sound wave of 5 specific tones. The response characteristics of reflection are measured by the average current magnitude of meridian. The current variation ratio are Live Meridian(gung) 33.2%, Heart Meridian(sang) 30.7%, Kidney Meridian (gak) 33.1%, Spleen Meridian(chi) 33.9%, Lung Meridian (wo) 30.7% compare with contrast parts (non-acupoint and meridian). Therefore meridian is distinguished to non-meridian and 5 vital meridians have relationship with sound wave of 5 specific tones.

Ifis recommended that the injection rate should be accurate and reliable in the input data of the performance simulation in diesel engine. Matsuoka Sin improved W. Bosch's injection ratio measurement system. Matsuoka Sin reduced length of the test pipe and set the orifice. However, it was not measured accurately to measure the injection ratio due to reflection wave. In the present thesis, the improved measurement system with combination of the conventional W. Bosch type injection ratio measurement system and Matsuoka Sin type corrected W. Bosch type was practically made. The location of orifice and throttle valve was modified and set one more back pressure valve in order to reduce the effect of reflection wave. The results according to injection condition of multi-hole nozzle are following: 1. Measurement error of injection ratio measurement system in this thesis was $\pm$ 1 %, therefore, its reliability was good. 2. The form of injetion ratio is changed from trapezoidal shape to triangle shape with increase of revolution per minute when injection amount is constant. 3. In the case of constant rpm, the initial injection ratio is almost constant regardless of the amount, meanwhile the injection period becomes longer with increase of the amount. 4. The injection pressure of nozzle isn't largely influenced with injection ratio in the case of constant injection amount and rpm, otherwise the initial injection amount is increased by 3-4% when the injection pressure is low. 5. The injection ratio isn't nearly influenced with back pressure.

The rebuilt and redevelopment projects conducted these days surely have invited overpopulation. Its one of the culprits is the municipal ordinances which allow the floor to site area ratio to increase from 200% to 400% in a decade and the adjacent distance ratio from 1.25 to 0.8 times of height of building. Possible solutions for the overpopulation problem are as below. - The floor to site area ratio should be regulated adaptively according to various regional localities. - Draw back the capital gains coming from a rebuilding project For evaluation process; - Select a suitable plan from plurality of proposals - Gradually encourage projects towards remodeling system in the near future
This letter presents a polymer $1{\times}2$ thermo-optic totalinternal-reflection digital optical switch (TIR-DOS) with an index contrast of 1.5%-${\delta}$ operating at low power consumption. The structure of our $1{\times}2$ TIR-DOS was created by adding a reflection port to that of a conventional multimode filtering variable optical attenuator. To improve the total-internalr-eflection efficiency, a heater offset was applied to the crossing region of multimode waveguides of the TIR-DOS. The fabricated $1{\times}2$ TIR-DOS shows a low electrical power consumption of 18 mW for an on-off ratio of 35 dB.
In the VnR (Virtual and Real Worlds) of recent virtual reality convergence, the modelling of realistic human face is focused on the facial appearance such as the shape of facial parts and muscle movement. However, the facial changing parameters caused by environmental factors beyond the facial appearance factors can be regarded as important ones in terms of effectively representing virtual avatar. Therefore, this study evaluates user's visual feeling response according to the opacity variation of eye reflection of virtual avatar which is considered as a new parameter for reprenting realistic avatar. Experimental result showed that more clear eye reflection induced more realistic visual feeling of subjects. This result can be regarded as a basis for designing realistic virtual avatar by supporting a new visual realistic representing factor (eye reflection) and its degree of representation (reflectance ratio).
One of the central problems in astudy of the coastal surface wave environment is predicting the transformation of waves as they propagate toward the shore. The transformation is mainly due to the existence of obstacles, such as breakwaters and vertical cylinders. In general, the types of wave transformation can be classified as follows: wave diffraction, reflection, transmission, scattering, radiation, et al. This research dealtwith wave transmission and dissipation problems for two dimensional irregular waves and vertical circular cylinders. Using the unsteady mild slope equation, a numerical model was developed to calculate the reflection and transmission of regular waves from a multiple-row circular breakwater and vertical cylinders. In addition, hydraulic model experiments were conducted with different values for the properties between tire piles and the opening ratio (distances) between the rows of the breakwater. It was found that the transmission coefficients decreased with a decrease in the opening ratio and an increase in the rows of vertical cylinders. A comparison between the results of hydraulic and numerical experiments showed reasonable agreement.
We have proposed and demonstrated a low numerical aperture technique to measure the depth of through silicon vias (TSVs) using white-light scanning interferometry. The high aspect ratio hole like TSV's was considered to be impossible to measure using conventional optical methods due to low visibility at the bottom of the hole. We assumed that the limitation of the measurement was caused by reflection attenuation in TSVs. A novel interference theory which takes the structural reflection attenuation into consideration was proposed and simulated. As a result, we figured out that the low visibility in the interference signal was caused by the unbalanced light intensity between the object and the reference mirror. Unbalanced light can be balanced using an aperture at the illumination optics. As a result of simulation and experiment, we figured out that the interference signal can be enhanced using the proposed technique. With the proposed optics, the depth of TSVs having an aspect ratio of 11.2 was measured in 5 seconds. The proposed method is expected to be an alternative method for 3-D inspection of TSVs.

Rock bolts have been installed into rockmass as a main support system. In order to evaluate the rock bolt integrity using non-destructive technique, the transmission method of the guided ultrasonic wave has been successfully performed. For the transmission method, however, the source for the generation o# guided ultrasonic waves should be installed at the end of the steel bar during construction of the rock bolt in the field. The purpose of this study is to suggest a reflection method that the source and the receiver are installed on the head of the steel bar. The reflection method is compared with the transmission method using non-embedded rock bolts and rock bolts embedded in concrete block. In this experiment, the piezo disc element is used as the source and the AE sensor is used as the receiver. The wavelet transform is applied to determine the energy velocity. The experimental studies show that the reflection method produces almost identical value of the transmission method, and the energy velocity increases with the defect ratio. This study suggests that the reflection method of the guided ultrasonic wave may be a suitable method fur the rock bolt integrity evaluation in the field.
The reflection coefficients of the sound absorbing materials are obtained from the standing wave ratio in the standin wave tube. This method is rather laborious to find the sound pressure maximum and minimum. We devised new method for determination of the complex reflection coefficients of the materials. The sound pressures and the phases are measured at least three points along the axis of the tube. The complex reflection coefficients are determined from the measured values by least square method. The measured results for the glasswool with thickness of 5cm and density of $50kg/m^3$ and the steel plate with thickness of 1.5cm are in good agreement with those of the conventional method. It is possible to measure the complex reflection coefficients at low frequencies with short standing wave tube and to interface with the personal computer which is very useful for the handling of amount of samples.
