  • In this paper, Power Flow Analysis (PFA) method has been applied to the prediction of vibration energy density and intensity of coupled shell structures in the medium-to-high frequency ranges. To consider the wave transformation at joint between shell elements, power transmission and reflection coefficients are investigated for various joint angles, and here Donnell-Mushtari thin shell theory has been used.   • Recently, the number of passengers using urban railway has been increased by reasons of the reductions of car use due to high fuel prices and the enlightenment about the environment. Above all, the noise and the vibration coming from the friction between the wheel and the rail of trains in operation which is not only a factor that hinders riding comforts but causes civil complaints. Furthermore, the noise has become social issues from tightening the relevant regulations by the government since January 2010. Although ballasted tracks were constructed on urban railways at the time of opening, they have been changed into slab tracks because slab tracks require much less maintenance. However, in view of sound absorptivity of track, slab tracks have 10 times less capability than ballasted tracks(ballasted track : 0.5~0.6/slab tracks : 0.06) results more noise than that of ballasted tracks as much as 3dB(A) since slab tracks emit more reflection noise. Therefore, in order to minimize reflection noise on slab tracks, noise abatement system has been developed as a national R&D program to apply on-site test. It is assumed that the construction technology developed in this study can be used not only as basic data for the on-site test for the noise reduction in urban railway but as an efficient construction method.

적응 삼각형 빔 방법에 의한 실내음장 해석 (A Study on the Indoor Sound-field Analysis by Adaptive Triangular Beam Method)

  • In this study, the adaptive triangular beam method(ATBM) considering different sound reflection coefficients and angles of a triangular beam on two or more planes as well as diffraction effect is suggested. The ATBM, subdividing a tracing triangular beam into multiple triangular beams on reflection planes, gives reliable and convergent sound-field analysis results without the dependancy on the number of initial triangular beam segmentation to search sound propagation paths from source to receiver. The validity of the method is verified by the comparison of numerical and experimental results for energy decay curve and steady-state sound pressure level of rooms having direct, reflective and diffractive sound paths.

  • The sensor configuration of the magnetostrictive guided wave system can be described as a single continuous transducing element which makes it difficult to separate the individual modes from the reflected signal. In this work we develop the mode decomposition technique employing chirplet transform, which is able to separate the individual modes from dispersive and multimodal waveform measured with the magnetostrictive sensor, and to estimate the time-frequency centers and individual energies of the reflection, which would be used to locate and characterize defects. The reflection coefficients are calculated using the modal energies of the separated mode. Results from experimental results on a carbon steel pipe are presented, which show that the accurate and quantitative defect characterization could become enabled using the proposed technique.

  • The attenuation of waves transmitted through non-conservative joints that are shown in many paractical structures, is affected by the impedance and the orientation of the joint. In this paper, the joints between plate structures are assumed to be modeled as linear spring-dashpot systems and the transmission and reflection of vibration energy in the medium to high frequency ranges are investigated. The calculated power transmission and reflection coefficients are applied to the PFA method for the prediction of energy density and intensity in structures.

  • This study is to make the fundamentals of sound quality evaluation in regard of acoustical characteristics of passenger compartment. The deviation of frequency response function level within audible frequency is evaluated at receiving point in the research of room acoustics. In this study, frequency response function is the one between speaker and driver's ear positions. The positions of driver and audio speakers are optimized by analysis of acoustic mode of acoustic cavity. The main reflection planes are determined by analysis sound ray path diffused at optimized speaker positions. Finally, designer selects acoustical material by analysis of absorption effect of acoustical materials on the main reflection planes in order to avoid to distortion and fluctuation of frequency response function..

해면 산란효과에 의한 선박 방사소음 추정치 오차 (Error Characteristics of Ship Radiated Noise Estimation by Sea Surface Scattering Effect)

  • The ship radiated noise level fluctuates by the interference between direct and reflected paths. The effect of sea surface reflection path on interference depends strongly on sea surface roughness. This paper describes error characteristics of ship acoustic signature estimation by sea surface scattering effect. The coherent reflection coefficient which explains a magnitude of sea surface scattering and its resultant interference acoustic field is analyzed quantitatively as a function of a grazing angle, effective surface height, frequency, source-receiver range and depths of source and receiver. Theoretical interference acoustic field is compared with experimental result for two different sea surfaces and five different frequencies by changing source-receiver range. It is found that both matches well each other and a magnitude of interference acoustic field is decreasing by increasing a grazing angle, effective surface height, frequency, and depths of source and receiver and decreasing source-receiver range. For given experimental conditions, the transmission anomaly which is a bias error of ship acoustic signature estimation, is about a range of 1~3 dB. The bias error of an existing ship radiated noise measurement system is also analyzed considering wind speed, source depth and frequency.

수중반사파 환경에서의 근접음장 홀로그래피 적용에 대한 오차 고찰 (Error Investigation in use of Near-field Acoustic Holography in the Underwater Environment of Reflected Wave)

  • Nowadays, it is required for naval ships to estimate 3D underwater radiated noise pattern in all direction at peak frequencies of hull vibration for the reduction of being detected and doing the effective operation. For this purpose, the numerical method has to be developed to calculate 3D underwater radiated noise pattern with experimental data. It is very difficult to obtain the experimental data for the real ship. Alternative to get the experimental results is to use NAH(near-field acoustic holography) in acoustic tank with experimental model. Application of NAH in acoustic tank for the experimental model needs some investigation of reflection wave from the wall of the acoustic tank and unmeasured zone of the experimental model due to the supporting structure for it. In this study, the effect of reflection wave in the acoustic tank and unmeasured area of the experimental model when using the NAH was investigated with experiment and numerical model. From these, it is known for the error due to reflection wave can be reduced when the distance between the measurement plane and source is being shorten. Also, unmeasured area of the experimental model gives rise to some error in the estimation of the far-field acoustic pressure.

  • Semiconductor laser diode has a reflective facet in a both-ends side fundamentally. Laser performance for improving, Anti-Reflection and High-reflection coating on the facet of semiconductor laser diode. To prevent internal feedback from both facets for realizing superluminescent diode and reducing the reflection-induced intensity noise of laser diode, it's key techniques are AR/HR coatings. In the study AR coating film were manufactured by Ion-Assisted Deposition(IAD) system.
