  • We investigated sterilization characteristics of UV lights by counting the number of bacteria units with varying sterilization time and distance from the light source. We focused on an idea that UV light of 184.9 nm could generate ozone and developed a new sterilizer. The UV-ozone duplex system sterilized bacteria faster than UV-only sterilizers. To reduce shadowing effects by target objects, we used UV transparent quartz plate as a support and put a reflecting plate. Distribution of UV irradiation intensity and ozone supply were analyzed by a 3D model and measured by a semiconductor UV sensor. But even with an Al reflector, multi-layered pens could not be treated properly from UV irradiation only. Ozone generating lamp could treat more uniformly multi-layered pens with a stirring fan by supplying ozone to shadowed surfaces.

  • To reduce uncertainties and make rational plans, the presumption of contingency against a failure of projects and an occurrence of unpredictable risks is important with accurate estimations as the work progressing. Therefore, if the presumption of contingency reflecting uncertainties carries out at a decision making point of time, be able to prepare for risks. The purpose of this paper is to present a management process of contingency through the performance analysis of project. In the cost planning phase, this study offers a process which is predictable contingency and predicts the range of fluctuation of the cost, laking an advantage of EVM in construction phase. With reflecting the results from this procedure, this study presents a process, rationally manageable contingency.

  • In this paper we presents an approach to assessing the efficiency of freight railroad stations reflecting freight item importance weights with multiple performance indicators and multiple operational condition indicators. We evaluate 187 freight railroad stations using data envelopment analysis with assurance region. Each freight item's loading/unloading volume is used as a performance indicator. Freight labor and yard capacity are used as operational condition indicators. Freight item importance weights are reflected to the data envelopment analysis as assurance region. The evaluation results facilitates the organization's decision making by providing valuable information.

  • To assist the further development of hight-visibility clothing this study compared the visibility and subjective wear sensation of commercial protective vests with retro-reflecting materials or LEDs. Nine subjects compared high-visibility vests to evaluate how easy they were to see when exposed to the headlight of a car at night, and the subjects assessed the wear sensation of the vests also. The intensity and visibility of five different colored LEDs assembled on the five substrates separately were also evaluated to select the suitable LED color for night protective clothing. The intensity of illumination was measured by an illuminometer, and the visibility was evaluated by 11 participants both in a dark room and in front of a car outdoors at night. Results showed, the most effective LEDs were high intensity LEDs which shift blinking red and white were most effective. However, excessively high intensity of illumination could decrease the working efficiency. In subjective wear evaluation, the most favorable vest had a front opening, were adjustable at the sides, and had an electric power switch on the front of the vest.

  • A Fizeau interferometer without beam splitter was constructed. Single-mode optical fiber was used as a spherical wave source and the face of fiber end was polished and coated to be a reflecting surface. The reflecting surface was angled so that interference fringe could be detected by CCD camera. Beam splitter in front of a spherical wave source could distort the wave front and that was one of the component error sources. With the proposed configuration there was no need to place beam splitter in the system. Improvement of phase measuring accuracy was evaluated quantitatively by comparing the result of this setup with that of a conventional Fizeau interferometer. Wave front of the angled end-face optical fiber source was also measured to verify its sphericity by PS/PDI (Phase Shifting/Point Diffraction Interferometer). The principle of this technique was presented and the experimental results and its applications were discussed. ussed.

  • The current class scheduling has difficulties in reflecting students' preferences for the classes that they want to take and forecasting the demands of classes. Also, it is usually a repetitive and tedious work to allocate classes to limited time and cesourres Although many research studios in task allocation and meeting scheduling intend to solve similar problems, they have limitations to be directly applied to the class-scheduling problem. In this paper. a class scheduling system using multi agents-based negotiation is suggested. This system consists of student agents, professor agents and negotiation agents each agent arts in accordance with its respective human user's preference and performs the repetitive and tedious process instead of the user The suggested system utilizes negotiation cost concept to derive coalition in the agent's negotiation. The negotiation cost is derived from users' bidding prices on classes, where each biding price represents a user's preference on a selected class. The experiments were performed to verify the negotiation model in the scheduling system. The result of the experiment showed that it could produce a feasible scheduling solution minimizing the negotiation cost and reflecting the users' performance. The performance of the experiments was evaluated by a class success ratio.

Implemented content, for more effective training, based on the brain wave difference in each user, by reflecting an indication of concentration, it is possible by level training. In order to evaluate the usefulness of the implemented content, to target the five subjects, is underway to improve training of concentration, through a comparative analysis of the changes in the index of ability to concentrate, to confirm the improvement of the concentration of the user it could be.

  • This study aims to recognize damage indicators of typhoon and to develop damage function's indicators, using information derived from the actual loss of typhoon Maemi. As typhoons engender significant financial damage all over the world, governments and insurance companies, local or global, develop hurricane risk assessment models and use it in quantifying, avoiding, mitigating, or transferring the risks. For the reason, it is crucial to understand the importance of the risk assessment model for typhoons, and the importance of reflecting local vulnerabilities for more advanced evaluation. Although much previous research on the economic losses associated with natural disasters has identified the risk indicators that are indispensable, more comprehensive research addressing the relationship between vulnerability and economic loss are still called for. Hence this study utilizes and analyzes the actual loss record of the typhoon Maemi provided by insurance companies to fill such gaps. In this study, natural disaster indicators and basic building information indicators are used in order to generate the vulnerability functions; and the results and indicators suggest a practical approach to create the vulnerability functions for insurance companies and administrative tasks, while reflecting the financial loss and local vulnerability of the actual buildings.

  • In the stacking and pitching items of the stone masonry and demolition process presented by 2018's standard of estimate, 7 estimating standards are presented according to the depth of masonry stone, and it is presented that the quantity per unit increases as the depth of masonry stone grows. As a result of analyzing the application status in the site, it is shown that 2 or 3 stones are mainly used according to the stone sizes regardless of the depth of masonry stone, and that as the size of the stone becomes larger, the quantity per unit decreases due to the size per square meter(㎡). Also, in most of sites, machine construction is mainly carried out by excavators with clampers attached to them. Therefore, in the 2019's application standard of estimate, it is analyzed that the size is simplified down to 3 sizes reflecting the site application status and that it is revised as a standard reflecting the result that as the stone size becomes bigger, the productivity increases.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review articles on Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) and to suggest strategies to improve practical use of NMMDS in nursing management. Methods: A systematic search for articles published until 2013 was undertaken using the following biomedical databases: CINAHL, PubMed, and Google scholar. Seventeen articles were fully reviewed. Results: The results showed that studies were related to updating NMMDS reflecting current EHR use, mapping NMMDS to standardized national databases, and validating, translating and evaluating NMMDS for international uses. NMMDS has three dimensions and was developed reflecting the needs of nurse managers. Conclusion: The study findings provide a summary of recent trends in NMMDS. These results can serve as basic information to promote practical use of NMMDS in the healthcare organization to provide nursing management data for nurse managers.
