음장의 공간적 변환(Spatial Transformation of Sound Field; STSF)기법의 주요 원리를 간단히 소개한 뒤, STSF에서 Reference 신호의 사용을 보다 상세히 취급하고자 한다. Reference의 보통의 형태(표준 Reference)는 음장 모델에 포함될 전체음장의 일부분, 즉 이 Reference의 연관이 있어 포함될 부분을 결정한다. 결국 한 개 의 표준 Reference는 항상 적용되어져야 한다. 2번째 Reference의 형태(삭제용 Reference)는 모델로부터 원치 않는 무관한 음장성분을 제거하는데 적용된다. 이 Reference와 밀접한 음장 부분이 모델로부터 제거될 것이고, 그렇지 않는 경우는 포함된다. 실제 예에서는 삭제용 Reference가 암소음의 억제와, 음원의 어떤 독립 적인 성분의 억제를 위해 어떻게 적용되는가를 보인다.

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the current status of reference education and to suggest directions for reference education in America and in Korea. For this purpose, the historical developments of reference services, and the names, problems and changes of reference courses are studied. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows; 1. The names of reference courses are various. In America, On-Line Services or Information Services are used in general, but in Korea, Reference Services are widely used. 2. In America, some library schools have only subject literature courses including business, law, music, etc. instead of basic reference courses. 3. Only one reference course is given by most schools in America and in Korea. However, a few schools which have no graduate courses provide two reference courses in Korea. 4. Analysis of textbooks used in reference courses shows that Reference Research by Joon-Shik Park, Reference Services and Reference Sources by Ock-Soon Noh are used in general. In addition, Introduction to Reference Work by Katz is used. 5. Lecture methods are generally used in teaching reference courses, but reviews of reference materials in library, class presentation, and case study method are also used. It is desirable that role playing and pathfinders' used in U.S. are introduced to our schools. 6. Analysis of library user instruction courses in Korea shows that 7 of 11 universities have the courses,, only one university teaches library user instruction as a part of reference courses, 3 universities don't. 7. Analysis of opinions about the directions for reference education shows that changes of reference courses names, expansion of courses contents, emphasis on communication technique, changes of teaching methods, proper combination of theory vs. practice, an increase in electronic reference education and training of subject specialist are needed.

Reference string recognition is to extract individual reference strings from a reference section of an academic article, which consists of a sequence of reference lines. This task has been attacked by heuristic-based, clustering-based, classification-based approaches, exploiting lexical and layout characteristics of reference lines. Most classification-based methods have used sequence labeling to assign labels to either a sequence of tokens within reference lines, or a sequence of reference lines. Unlike the previous token-level sequence labeling approach, this study attempts to assign different labels to the beginning, intermediate and terminating tokens of a reference string. After that, post-processing is applied to identify reference strings by predicting their beginning and/or terminating tokens. Experimental evaluation using English and German reference string recognition datasets shows that the proposed method obtains above 94% in the macro-averaged F1.

This study is designed to research principles for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves of university libraries. To achieve the goal, this study establishes theoretical foundations for virtual reference shelves. Also, we discuss why the virtual reference shelves are necessary via cultural subject of libraries. Second, this study investigates current circumstances of virtual reference shelves' usages. This Investigation is conducted in terms of nine evaluation indexes. The results are used to justify the cooperative establishment for virtual reference shelves. Last, this study discusses actual methods and procedures for establishing cooperatively virtual reference shelves, associating with roles of related institutions.

Model reference control is control method such that overall response of a plant plus controller approaches that of a given reference model. The reference model provides desired trajectory the plant should follow. There are many kinds of control methods in MRC. However, this paper focuses on Model Reference Sliding Mode Control. The plant of these controls is an uncertain and linear system varying in time, of second order, and with SISO. In this paper, a design scheme of reference model is proposed for MRSMC. The scheme determines reference model based on the information on bounded control inputs, reference inputs and system parameters. It is used to choose a Fixed Reference Model in the process of controller design, to update Variable Reference Model when stepwise reference inputs change and to update Instant Reference Model at every sampling time. The simulation results show that the proposed method yields better control performance than the conventional MRC subject to the stepwise reference input when applied to the position control system for motor system.

As the number of Web reference resources are gradually increasing, reference librarians have to create a Web-based reference resources site. This site includes links to the Web reference resources of good quality, so that reference librarians and users will become accustomed to using these resources. This Study first explores the function of the Web-based reference resources site. Next, it carries out a survey of the current trends in america and Korea. Finally, a model Web-based reference resources site for academic libraries is developed.

Reference services that use e-mail to receive reference questions and provide responses were developed as early digital reference services in the library field. However, librarians and users found that e-mail based reference services had some weak points when compared with traditional face-to-face reference services. As a result, libraries have started to create real-time reference services, which are similar to traditional face-to-face reference services through the use of synchronous chat software. Such chat reference services are focus of this paper. This paper approaches chat reference services as one of the services provided by libraries. Based on the understandings of the unique characteristics of services and the concept of "service quality", this paper tries to suggest appropriate marketing strategies of chat reference services.

The reference model of an MRC (model reference control) provides the desired trajectory a plant should follow and thus the design of a reference model has a significant effect on control performance. In most control systems control input to a plant has some bounds and it is preferable to make use of as large control inputs as possible within the range of no saturation. In this paper a new approach of selecting the reference model is proposed for bounded control inputs. Design variables of the reference model are determined in such a way that maximizes the performance index within the range of no saturation. Moreover this variable reference model is regularly updated during control. This scheme is verified by application to the servo motor position control system in various simulations. The responses of the MRC with a variable reference model show better tracking performance than that with a fixed reference mode. Moreover by adjusting the update interval of the reference model the control performance can be further improved.

Reference electrodes are generally implemented for the purpose of monitoring the cathodic protection potentials of buried or immersed metallic structures. In the market, many types of reference electrodes are available for this purpose, such as saturated calomel, silver/silver chloride and copper/copper sulfate. These electrodes contain a porous ceramic junction plate situated in the cylindrical body bottom to permit ionic flux between the internal electrolyte (of the reference electrode) and the external electrolyte. In this work, the copper/copper sulfate reference electrode was modified by replacing the porous ceramic junction plate for a metallic platinum wire. The main purpose of this modification was to avoid the ion copper transport from coming from the inner reference electrode solution into the surrounding electrolyte, and to mitigate the copper plating on the coupon surfaces. Lab tests were performed in order to compare the performance of the two mentioned reference electrodes. We verified that the experimental errors associated with the measurements conducted with developed reference electrode would be negligible, as the platinum surface area exposed to the surrounding electrolyte and/or to the reference electrolyte are maintained as small as possible.

A synthetic infrared image can be effectively utilized in various fields such as the recognition and tracking of targets as long as its quality is good enough to reflect the real situations. One way to improve its quality is to use the reference atmosphere which best describes atmospheric properties of regional areas. The east asian reference atmosphere has been developed to represent atmospheric properties of the east asia including Korean peninsula. However, few research has been conducted to examine the effects of this east asian reference atmosphere on the modeling and simulation. In this regard, this paper analyzes the effects of the east asian reference atmosphere on a synthetic infrared image. The research compares the atmospheric transmittance, the surface temperature, and the radiance obtained by using the east asian reference atmosphere with those of the midlatitude reference atmosphere which has been widely applied in the east asia. The results show that the differences of the atmospheric transmittance, the surface temperature, and the radiance between the east asian reference atmosphere and the midlatitude reference atmosphere are significant especially during the daytime. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the east asian reference atmosphere for generating a synthetic infrared image with targets in the east asia.
