Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) plays a crucial role in the management of pancreaticobiliary disorders. Although the ERCP technique has been refined over the past five decades, it remains one of the endoscopic procedures with the highest rate of complications. Risk factors for ERCP-related complications are broadly classified into patient-, procedure-, and operator-related risk factors. Although non-modifiable, patient-related risk factors allow for the closer monitoring and instatement of preventive measures. Post-ERCP pancreatitis is the most common complication of ERCP. Risk reduction strategies include intravenous hydration, rectal nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and pancreatic stent placement in selected patients. Perforation is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, and prompt recognition and treatment of ERCP-related perforations are key to ensuring good clinical outcomes. Endoscopy plays an expanding role in the treatment of perforations. Specific management strategies depend on the location of the perforation and the patient's clinical status. The risk of post-ERCP bleeding can be attenuated by preprocedural optimization and adoption of intra-procedural techniques. Endoscopic measures are the mainstay of management for post-ERCP bleeding. Escalation to angioembolization or surgery may be required for refractory bleeding. Post-ERCP cholangitis can be reduced with antibiotic prophylaxis in high risk patients. Bile culture-directed therapy plays an important role in antimicrobial treatment.
The emission of noxious gases is a significant problem in pig production, as it can lead to poor production, welfare concerns, and environmental pollution. The noxious gases are the gasses emitted from the pig manure that contribute to air pollution. The increased concentration of various harmful gasses can pose health risks to both animals and humans. The major gases produced in the pig farm include methane, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and volatile fatty acids, which are mainly derived from the fermentation of undigested or poorly digested nutrients. Nowadays research has focused on more holistic approaches to obtain a healthy farm environment that helps animal production. The use of probiotics, prebiotics, dietary enzymes, and medicinal plants in animal diets has been explored as a means of reducing harmful gas emissions. This review paper focuses on the harmful gas emissions from pig farm, the mechanisms of gas production, and strategies for reducing these emissions. Additionally, various methods for reducing gas in pigs, including probiotic interventions; prebiotic interventions, dietary enzymes supplementation, and use of medicinal plants and organic acids are discussed. Overall, this paper provides a comprehensive review of the current state of knowledge on reducing noxious gas in pigs and offers valuable insights for pig producers, nutritionists, and researchers working in this area.
The subject of this research is what is the most effective strategy of the nuclear sharing strategy of South Korea through the nuclear strategy that the U.S. is pursuing now. The U.S. Nuclear Strategy-related change can be found in a Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) report released by the U.S. The first NPR was announced in 1994 and after that, the U.S. has additionally announced a total of four NPRs along with administration changes. The change in the U.S. nuclear strategy and nuclear power are considered both deterrence and offset strategies. It can be summarized in two ways. First, by maintaining overwhelming nuclear power against the enemy, the U.S. is to lead nuclear advantage that is the core of the U.S. nuclear strategy. Second, the U.S. is to limit the competition of nuclear power with nations seeking to challenge the U.S. nuclear power advantage. Additionally, the U.S. is to actively sign an agreement with nations on the reduction and restriction of nuclear weapons. Through the NPR of the U.S., South Korea should know its unclear power and strategy and have an effective nuclear strategy of South Korea. Therefore, this research is to deal with the suitability of the nuclear sharing strategy with the U.S., which is one of the various nuclear strategies of South Korea.
Since $CO_2$ emissions are recognized as the biggest contribution to climate change, the needs and international efforts for $CO_2$ emissions reduction are increasing. The developed countries are driving strategies to boost green industry as a new growth engine. Following this global trend, based on the ongoing U-City project as a new city model, it is required to analyze the changes of $CO_2$ emissions in U-City to identify its potential for reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This study aims at identifying the potential and effects on $CO_2$ reduction by analyzing the level of $CO_2$ emissions before and after introducing U-City. Bundang-Gu, Seongnam-City & Ilsan-Gu, Goyang-City among Phase I new tow ns were selected as model cities before introducing U-City and Dongtan-Dong, Hwaseong-City as a model city after introducing U-City. The result showed 30% reduction of $CO_2$ emissions in the comparison of tw o models.
High dietary phytate is a known factor in reducing the bioavailability of minerals such as zinc and calcium which are already chronically low in the Korean diet. This study was conducted to develop methods for reducing dietary phytate through the addition of phytate and/or the substitution of high phytate foods with low phytate foods. Ten units of phytase per 100g of uncooked brown rice were added to brown rice gruel resulted in a 16.2% phytate reduction after a 3-hour incubation period; an 18.2% reduction was produced after a 6-hour incubation period. The addition of ten units of phytase per 100g of soybean curd residue at 45$^{\circ}C$, followed by refrigeration for 3 hours, resulted in a 19.1% phytate reduction. The addition of 20 units of phytase under the same conditions reduced phytate content by 24.6%. In this study, two typical Korean meals consisting of legumes and unrefined cereals were prepared as high phytate meals; these were then compared to low phytate meals that had been prepared by treating the foods with phytase and substituting unrefined with refined cereals (i.e., brown rice with white rice, whole wheat bread with white bread). The phytate content of the two high phytate meals was 1878.2mg and 1811.8mg. After the addition of phytase and the food substitution, the phytate content of the low phytate meals was reduced to 788.9mg and 606.0mg. The phytate to zinc molar ratio of high phytate diets was 22.4 and 21.3 and 9.4 and 7.9 for the low phytate meals. These results indicate that the nutritional status of Koreans in terms zinc and other minerals can be improved by phytate reduction. This can be accomplished through the change of milling process for some cereals and/or the enzyme treatment of some high phytate food items.

As abnormal climate phenomena frequently happen due to the after-effect of the global warming, all nations suggest climate change response policies in many different fields to prevent global warming by reducing greenhouse gas. Especially, these days, the realization that the greenhouse gas from city buildings should be decreased is growing, and it is because that buildings are accounted for a quarter of national greenhouse gas emission and it is more than half the percentage of emissions within the city. Accordingly, Korean government sees the need to take an initiating role to fulfill low-carbon green policies and promotion strategies in the public sector, and wants to facilitate greenhouse gas reduction in the private sector as well. In this background, this study tries to examine the low-carbon planning element in public buildings and figure out the amount of carbon reduction and economic analysis centering Cheongju city as case study. Lastly, we propose some suggestion for low-carbon and greening of public buildings.
Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, managing the line number 5,6,7 and 8 has inspected and maintained for the maintenance of the facilities spread in the extended 152km and 148 stations. Despite the thorough inspection for prevention of the facility failure, the failure has continuously occurred, due to the environmental factors of the underground, mechanical worn-out caused by frequent use, aging facilities, system error, negligence on use, etc. We have achieved a 53.4% reduction in the number of failure by the end of June, 2010 by breaking the conventional way of inspections and maintenance and by adopting quantitative goal management and new way of work. In this paper, we will analyze the problems of inspections and maintenance of the railway facilities, the failure reduction strategy and the performance of each strategy.

Carbon neutrality in agriculture can be derived from systematic GHG reduction policies based on quantitative environmental impact analysis of GHG-emitting activities. This study is to explore how to advance the calculation of carbon emissions from agricultural activities to the detailed spatial level to a spatial Tier 3 level (Tier 2.5 level), methodologically beyond the Tier 2 approach. To estimate the GHG emissions beyond the Tier 2.5 level by region for detailed spatial units, we constructed available activity data on carbon emission impact factors such as rice cultivation, agricultural land use, and livestock. We also built and verified detailed data on emission activities at the field level through field surveys. The GHG emissions were estimated by applying the latest national emission factors and regional emission factors according to the IPCC 2019 GL based on the field-level activity data. This study has significance that it explored ways to build activity data and calculate GHG emissions through statistical data and field surveys based on parcels, one of the smallest spatial units for regional carbon reduction strategies. It is expected that by utilizing the activity data surveyed for each field and the emission factor considering the activity characteristics, it will be possible to improve the accuracy of GHG emission calculation and quantitatively evaluate the effect of applying reduction policies.
This paper examines in depth the UN's disaster risk reduction system and framework that affect a country's disaster safety strategy and focuse on identifying the global trends in disaster risk reduction that have emerged in the Hyogo and the Sendai Framework, a disaster risk reduction strategy proposed by the UN since 2000. For this aim it attempts a theoretical review based on collecting a variety of domestic and international literatures, draws meaningful implications and suggests alternatives to a national disaster risk reduction policy. According to the analysis, the UN disaster risk reduction mechanism is UNISDR, the Secretariat is UNDRR, and the SRSG represents it, and the Sendai Framework, developed from the Hyogo Code of Conduct, a global strategy which has been for disaster safety for the past decade, will lead global disaster safety for the next decade. The policy implications drawn from the analysis of both strategies are the emphasis on consistent international coordination, strengthening resilience and an integrated and comprehensive approach. In conclusion, this paper proposes the need for a disaster risk reduction strategy to establish a resilience reinforcement system to proactively identify and cope with risk factors and to minimize impacts, to promote the coordination of international coordination and cooperation at the government level.

This study was analyzed the changes of the tariff reduction for the timber products according to the modalities proposed by the chairman of Non-agriculture Market Access. The resulted data would be expected to be used for establishing the strategies for the WTO/DDA negotiation of Korea. As WTO/DDA negotiation was officially resumed in the early 2007. It was necessarily required to develop a strategy how to address debating core issues raised during the negotiation since 2006. For this purpose, major core issues and agenda were arranged and analyzed in this study. In Korea, the results of the analysis show that, in the position of developed members, the applicable tariff rates after the tariff reduction of sawnwood and veneer sheet was not different from that in 2007. However, in the position of developing members, the applicable tariff rate of sawnwood and veneer sheet was increased after the tariff reduction. The unbound tariff lines, wood-based panels such as plywood and medium-density fiberboard, the applicable tariff rate after the tariff reduction was analyzed to be reduced more than 50% in the position of developed members, and therefore is determined to be considerable influenced upon the applicable tariff rates. On the other hand, in the position of developing country the tariff rates after the tariff reduction was higher than that of the applicable tariff rates in 2007. Thus no changes of the tariff reduction by a negotiation agreement was analyzed to be happened.
