  • Transportations are representative sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. Advanced countries (especially, EU and Japan etc.) have performed several efforts to decrease GHG released from railroad. In this study, we investigated the reduction methods of GHG in railroad industry. The GHG emissions in railroad are mainly caused by the energy consumption during operation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop technologies for the increase of energy efficiency and the application of clean energy such as solar and wind energy instead of diesel. From these studies, we can establish various strategies to reduce GHG efficiently in Korean railroad.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the technical system of national logistics standardization and to strengthen the national competitiveness through reduction of the logistic cost We review of the government and private roles in the logistic sectors and suggest plans for the improvement of logistics standardization for its completion in the unit load system in Korea. We conclude that a symmetrical logistics standardization may accomplish to reduce the costs of national logistics.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics and source of vibration and acoustic noise in SRM drives. The paper study the reduction technique of those by new SRM which has auxiliary field winding. The operating mechanism and vibration and acoustic noise characteristics is examined. This paper suggests the control strategies of auxiliary field winding in order to reduce vibration and acoustic noise.

  • The mandibular condyle is a region that plays a key role in the opening and closing of the mouth, and because fracture causes functional and aesthetic problems such as facial asymmetry, it is very important to perform accurate reduction. Traditionally, there has been disagreement on how to manage fracture of the mandibular condyle. This review explores the misunderstanding of mandibular condyle fracture treatment and modern-day treatment strategies.

Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomic Profiling of Pseudopodia of Metastatic Cancer Cells

  • Pseudopodia are dynamic actin cytoskeleton-based membrane protrusions of cells that enable directional cell migration. Pseudopodia of cancer cells play key roles in cancer metastasis. Recent studies using pseudopodial subcellular fractionation methodologies combined with mass spectrometry-based proteomic profiling have provided insight into the pseudopodiome that control the protrusions of invasive metastatic cancer cells. This review highlights how to characterize the protein composition of pseudopodia and develop strategies to identify biomarkers or drug candidates that target reduction or prevention of metastatic cancer.

  • For the greenhouse 9as emissions' reduction of fossil fuel, the energy policy on the promotion of alternative energy should be implemented. Accordingly, national policies on the development and promotion of alternative energy were made, and related laws and regulations are being made, and comprehensive plans should be followed. The policies and strategies for promoting the renewable energy have been insufficient in comparison with those of the developed countries. This paper suggests the spread extension plan of renewable generation through generation development and priority purchase.

  • 본 연구는 중대재해처벌법 시행 이후 1년 8개월이 지난 현재까지 사업장의 안전 문제에 대한 사회적 인식 부족을 확인하였다. 2023년 사업장 위험성 평가 지침 개정에도 불구하고, 안전 문화 인식과 참여율 저조가 주요 원인으로 확인되었다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로, 안전 리더십의 강조와 개개인의 셀프 리더십을 통한 자기효능감 향상 방법을 제시하였다. 사업장의 안전 문화 확산을 위한 캠페인의 중요성 또한 강조하였으며, 이를 기반으로 한 안전 문화 확산 전략의 재정립이 요구된다는 결론을 도출하였다.

Feedback control strategies for active control of noise inside a 3-D vibro-acoustic cavity

  • This paper presents and compares three feedback control strategies for active control of noise inside a 3-D vibro-acoustic cavity. These are a) control strategy based on direct output feedback (DOFB) b) control strategy based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) to reduce structural vibrations and c) LQR control strategy with a weighting scheme based on structural-acoustic coupling coefficients. The first two strategies are indirect control strategies in which noise reduction is achieved through active vibration control (AVC), termed as AVC-DOFB and AVC-LQR respectively. The third direct strategy is based on active structural-acoustic control (ASAC). This strategy is an LQR based optimal control strategy in which the coupling between the various structural and the acoustic modes is used to design the controller. The strategy is termed as ASAC-LQR. A numerical model of a 3-D rectangular box cavity with a flexible plate (glued with piezoelectric patches) and with other five surfaces treated rigid is developed using finite element (FE) method. A single pair of collocated piezoelectric patches is used for sensing the vibrations and applying control forces on the structure. A comparison of frequency response function (FRF) of structural nodal acceleration, acoustic nodal pressure, and piezoelectric actuation voltage is carried out. It is found that the AVC-DOFB control strategy gives equal importance to all the modes. The AVC-LQR control strategy tries to consume the control effort to damp all the structural modes. It is seen that the ASAC-LQR control strategy utilizes the control effort more intelligently by adding higher damping to those structural modes that matter more for reducing the interior noise.
