Design Observable Model of Direct Drive Motor for Air Gap Estimation when Input Disturbance is Impulse signal (외란이 충격 신호일 때 공극 추정을 위한 직구동 모터의 관측 가능한 수학적 모델 수립)

  • Observable mathematical model of DDM (Direct Dirve Motor) was suggested. The motor that operates the object system directly is called DDM. DDM has many strong points, however, it has a significant disadvantage, that it is more sensitive to the external force than the motor with reduction gear. In other word, if the force is applied, air gap of the motor can be perturbed. This causes not only difficulty in motor control but also even more serious problem, such as the breakdown of motor. However, if the air gap variation can be estimated, it can help prevent these problems. DDM should be modeled to estimate the air gap variation. The type of researched DDM is PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) and precedent model of PMSM includes only characteristics of electro-magnetic system and rotational motion. However, suggested model should also include characteristics of translational motion of rotor to estimate the air gap variation. Also, this model should satisfy observability condition, because state observer is designed based on this model.

Surface Roughness and Sintering Characteristics of Fe-8 wt%Ni Component Fabricated by PIM (Fe-8 wt%Ni 나노합금분말 사출성형체의 소결특성 및 표면조도)

  • Development of nanoparticulate materials technology is essential to processing of highly functional nanoparticulate materials and components with small and complex shape. In this paper, the effect of particle size on surface roughness and shrinkage of sintered Fe-8 wt%Ni nanopowder components fabricated by PIM were investigated. The Fe-8 wt%Ni nanopowder was prepared by hydrogen reduction of ball-milled Fe$_2$O$_3$-NiO powder. Feedstock of nanopowder prepared with the wet-milled powder was injection molded into double gear shaped part at 120$^{\circ}C$. After sintering, the sintered part showed near full densified microstructure having apparently no porosity (98%T.D.). Surface roughness of sintered bulk using nanopowder was less than 815 nm and it was about seven times lower than 7 $\mu$m that is typically obtainable from a sintered part produced from PIM.

  • In this paper, unmanned vehicle system and VFF algorithm development with vehicle dynamics is the main topic as a part of Intelligent Transportation System. Unmanned vehicle system is classified by vehicle system and control system. Authors used RC servo motor for longitudinal control via throttle angle, shift lever control, and brake control. For lateral control, authors used step motor, equipped with reduction gear. Unmanned vehicle has nine ultrasonic sensors in front of the unmanned vehicle. After the microcontroller computes the distance between unmanned vehicle and obstacle, the control computer calculates the steering angle enough to avoid the obstacle.

  • Since the oil shock of '70s the engine makers have developed new types of diesel engine with low fuel consumption. There is an obvious tendency towards the use of poorer quality fuels, such as the residual oil from chemical processes of refinery. The shaft driving generators is also widely adopted on behalf of the auxiliary diesel engines, which are driving on the expensive diesel oil and have high fuel oil consumption rates, and some mania propulsion diesel engines are equipped with reduction gear systems to get better propulsive efficiency by slower propeller revolutions. The propulsion shafting system equipped with the shaft driving generator or the geared diesel engine shafting system has flexible couplings, and it requires extensive investigations of the torsional vibration and torque fluctuation in order to ensure the acceptable operation range in service. The characteristics of misfiring must be especially examined for the high viscosity fuels to be used. Both torsional vibration and fluctuating torque resulted from misfiring, should be examined for thier effects on the flexible coupling and propulsion shafting system. This paper is to investigate and solve the above mentioned problems which must be predicted on the design-stage of marine propulsion shafting system. A computer program is developed to calculate the indicated diagram, fluctating torque and torsional vibration for both normal and misfiring conditions.

  • A gerotor is suitable for miniature manufacturing because it has high discharge per 1 cycle and a simple structure, while also being widely used for lubrication oil of engines and as a hydraulic source of automatic transmission. In the automobile industry, improvements in fuel efficiency and noise reduction have recently come to the fore. It has also been necessary to continuously improve the flow rate and noise of internal gear pumps for better fuel efficiency through optimal gerotor and port shape design. In this study, to develop an optimal gerotor with a new lobe shape, 2-ellipses-combined, the equation of the lobe shape was derived, and CFD analysis results were compared for 2-ellipses with those of the previous gerotors (3-ellipses and ellipse1-involuteellipse2). A performance test for the oil pump with the optimal rotor (2-ellipses) was carried out and showed good agreement with the results obtained from CFD analysis.

  • In this paper, component sizing and analysis of the novel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain configuration is conducted. Newly proposed powertrain configuration in prior study has an internal combustion engine and two electric motors. To optimize component size of the vehicle system and reduction gear ratio, component sizing methodology is proposed and conducted. Required power for vehicle's dynamic performance is calculated to decide minimum power requirement of powertrain component combination. Component size of engine and electric motor are optimized using vehicle simulation to maximize fuel economy performance. Optimized powertrain configuration and vehicle simulation results present validation of newly proposed vehicle system.

  • PT of epoxy mold type have tendency to occur dielectric breakdown in high voltage system. These are using for measurement of voltage or protection of system and application voltage is 25.8kV. Therefore, for improving a lots of problems like as partial discharge, we had analyze on the destroyed Epoxy molded type PT and processing of production. As a results, we concluded that the reason of dielectric breakdown was defect of processing and degradation of insulation by electrical stress. In this work, We presented a method of solution in processing of production. which is reduction of the PO which was occurred at the insulation material. so we must many try to remove faults, these problems are mainly to winding methods of 1st coil. the other side, Reformation of 1st coil improved property of PD and we could prove it with experiments.

  • Porcelain insulators have generally been used in Korea to insulate a transmission line from the tower, and a highly polymerized compound polymer insulator which has superior stain proof characteristics, has also been used widely. Currently, a worker rides on the suspension insulator string for installation on towers and conductors but in case of polymer insulators, this will pollute and scratch the housing result in durability reduction by deterioration and corona. This study developed a high strength aluminum compound metal lauder designed to work on polymer insulators without riding, and a clamp type connecting device and safety gear for easy installation on the tower and conductor. These polymer insulator work device can be used for 154kV and 345kV polymer insulators through a strength and load test to secure safety. This paper presents field usage.

  • This paper proposes a gain switching algorithm for joint position control of a hydraulic humanoid robot. Accurate position control of the lower body is one of the basic requirements for robust balance and walking control. Joint position control is more difficult for hydraulic robots than it is for electric robots because of an absence of reduction gear and better back-drivability of hydraulic joints. Backdrivability causes external forces and torques to have a large effect on the position of the joints. External ground reaction forces therefore prevent a simple proportional-derivative (PD) controller from realizing accurate and fast joint position control. We propose a state feedback controller for joint position control of the lower body, define three modes of state feedback gains, and switch the gains according to the Zero Moment Point (ZMP) and linear interpolation. Dynamic equations of hydraulic actuators were experimentally derived and applied to a robot simulator. Finally, the performance of the algorithm is evaluated with dynamic simulations.

Performance Analysis of Turboprop Aircraft Propulsion System by using Gasturb (Gasturb를 이용한 터보프롭 항공기 추진시스템 성능해석)

  • The propulsion system of turboprop has been rarely used in the large aircraft due to the limitation of the maximum velocity of the propeller, the power limitation by the reduction gear, etc. Recently, the demand on turboprop aircraft continues to increase because of economical efficiency and environmental factors. In this paper, turboprop propulsion system which is composed of a Pratt & Whitney 127F turboprop engine and a Hamilton Standard 568F propeller was modeled by using the Gasturb11 software. The result of the performance analysis on this propulsion system model showed that the propulsion system model was evaluated to have been successfully builded.
