LPG/DTBP 혼합연료를 사용하는 압축착화 엔진의 부분부하 성능 및 배기특성에 관한 연구 (Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Compression Ignition Engine Operated with LPG and Cetane Enhancing Additives)

  • In this study, a feasibility test of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) compression ignition (CI) engine has been carried out to study the effectiveness of cetane enhancing additive: Di-tertiary-butyl peroxide (DTBP). Performance and emissions characteristics of a CI engine fuelled with DTBP blended LPG fuel were examined. Also, the effect of EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) on the combustion and emissions characteristics has been investigated. Results showed that stable engine operation over a wide range of the engine loads was possible. Exhaust emissions measurements showed that hydrocarbon were decreased with the blended fuel at enhancing cetane number. Furthermore, the combustion stability of LPG with a cetane number improver was equivalent to that of commercial Diesel fuel. Increasing the EGR rate leads to deteriorate the IMEP (indicated mean effective pressure) and increase the ignition delay. It was found that the exhaust emissions with the EGR resulted in a very large reduction in nitrogen oxides at the expense of higher THC and CO emissions. Considering the results of engine performance and exhaust emissions, LPG blended fuel of enhancing cetane number could be used as an alternative fuel for diesel in a CI engine.

  • Teflon like fluorocarbon thin films have been deposited on silicon and oxide molds as an antistiction layer for the hot embossing process by an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The process was performed at $C_4F_8$ gas flow rate of 2 sccm and 30 W of plasma power as a function of substrate temperature. The thickness of film was measured by a spectroscopic ellipsometry. These films were left in a vacuum oven of 100, 200 and $300^{\circ}C$ for a week. The change of film thickness, contact angle and adhesion and friction force was measured before and after the thermal test. No degradation of film was observed when films were treated at $100^{\circ}C$. The heat treatment of films at 200 and $300^{\circ}C$ caused the reduction of contact angles and film thickness in both silicon and oxide samples. Higher adhesion and friction forces of films were also measured on films treated at higher temperatures than $100^{\circ}C$. No differences on film properties were found when films were deposited on either silicon or oxide. A 100 nm silicon template with 1 to $500\;{\mu}m$ patterns was used for the hot embossing process on $4.5\;{\mu}m$ thick PMMA spun coated silicon wafers. The antistiction layer of 10 nm was deposited on the silicon mold. No stiction or damages were found on PMMA surfaces even after 30 times of hot embossing at $200^{\circ}C$ and 10 kN.

콩기름 이용을 위한 지방산-글리세롤-pMDI와 요소수지 혼용 접착제가 접착성능에 미치는 영향- (Effects of Blending Fatty Acid-Glycerol-pMDI with Urea-Formaldehyde Resin Adhesives to Their Adhesion for the Use of Soybean Oil)

  • 본 연구는 UF resin의 접착성능을 개선하여 그 사용처의 확대하기 위하여 각 F/U 몰비별로 제조된 UF resin에 접착성능이 우수한 지방산-글리세롤-pMDI 당량비 1:1:4인 비교적 저가의 isocyanate prepolymer접착제를 선정하여 UF resin의 수지고형분 기준으로 0 wt%(대조구), 2 wt%, 5 wt%, 10 wt%, 25 wt%, 50 wt%로 첨가 혼합하여 접착 성능을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 상태 접착력(Type 2)은 F/U 몰비 1.4에서 가장 우수한 접착력을 준내수 접착력(Type 1.5)은 FGMDI첨가량이 25% 이상에서 KS 합판 접착성 기준인 $7.5kgf/cm^2$를 모두 상회하는 $11kgf/cm^2$ 이상을 나타내었다. 상태접착력대비 준내수 접착력의 평균 감소율은 F/U 몰비가 높아질수록, 지방산-글리세롤-pMDI접착제의 첨가량이 많아질수록 그 감소의 폭이 둔화되었다.

주거공간 내 광선반 곡률 형태에 따른 채광성능평가 연구 (Research on Lighting Performance Evaluation for Different Curvature Reflection Rate in Residential Space)

  • Currently, 22% of the total energy consumption of buildings in Korea is used for lighting. Light-shelves have garnered attention as a way to reduce consumption, but there are few studies on the types of curve and curvature, which limits the improvement of light-shelf performance and its design. This study constructed a test bed of actual residential types to evaluate the performance. Outcomes of light usage, according to variables of light-shelves, were used as indicators of performance evaluation. The results are as follows:1) Performance evaluation was conducted on flat-type light-shelves to verify performance of curvature-shelves, which are movable with a width of 200 mm, and the most ideal angle and specification per solar term are calculated. 2) The (-) shaped curvature contributed to a reduction in energy consumption and an improvement of evenness. 3) In case of light-shelves with (-) shaped curvature, an increased angle not exceeding $80^{\circ}$ of the arc contributed to an improvement of light penetration. 4) Appropriate specifications of curved light-shelves include movable types with widths of 200 mm, and angle ranges of $20^{\circ}{\sim}60^{\circ}$. 5) Light energy consumption of a movable light-shelf with curvature and width of 200 mm were reduced by 17% and 7.8% compared to a $0^{\circ}$ fixed and a movable light-shelf, respectively.

담배 흡입독성 평가를 위한 설치류 담배연기노출시스템의 유효화 (Validation of a Rodent Nose-only Exposure System for Inhalation Toxicity Evaluation of Cigarette Smoke)

  • As part of a balanced testing battery, subchronic inhalation studies on rats are performed to ensure that proposed cigarette modifications do not increase the toxicity of smoke and to demonstrate any instances where a modification may actually contribute to harm reduction. For subchronic inhalation studies with aerosols, the OECD suggests an exposure regimen of 6 hours/day (OECD Guideline 413, 1981), but alternative regimens have also been published: 1 hour/day and $2{\times}1$ hour/day. The aim of this study was to validate a rodent nose-only exposure system for the assessment of inhalation toxicity of cigarette smoke. In this study, cigarette smoke exposure system is consisted of cigarette smoke generator, smoke concentration adjusting system, and 20-port nose-only exposure system. Male SD rats were exposed for 35 days ($2{\times}1$ hour/day) to 3R4F Reference cigarette smoke and analysed major monitoring items of OECD Gudeline 413. WTPM, was measured in the test atmosphere, respiratory function (Buxco Biosystems) during exposure, postexposure urinary exposure biomarkers and alveolar neutrophiles in BAL fluid (Day 35) were evaluated. Validation demonstrated steady WTPM ($257{\pm}20ug/L$, $502{\pm}27ug/L$) and spatial uniformity (<10%). Nose port temperature ($22{\sim}26^{\circ}C$ and RH (45~75%) were acceptable over 35 days. Reductions in respiratory rate and minute volume and increase in the neutrophiles in BALF and the urinary exposure biomarkers were observed cigarette smoke dose dependently. This validation and 35-day inhalation study has shown that the rodent nose-only exposure system may be useful in the inhalation toxicity assessment of cigarette smoke.

금수육군전(金水六君煎)이 피크로메터에 의한 호흡곤란(呼吸困難)에 미치는 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察) (The Clinical Study of Keumsuyukunjeon on the Labored Respiration Using Picrometer)

  • Objective : The investigation had been performed since from January 1st to August 31th of 1998. The patients for the experiment were mainly composed of patients who had trouble in breathing due to the pneumonectasis, asthmas, pneumonias. The percent of men is 67% in sex distribution and the ratio of persons over 50's was 85%, The effect was invastgated for the labored respiration who had Keumsuyukunjeon. Methods : In this research, some remarkable results are referred which were detected by measuring the variations of the breathing volume of 20 patients after taking Keumsuyukunjeon. Picrometer is used for the measurement of the volume. Results : From the relations between the breathing volume before treatment and the enhancement ratio, the increase of the enhancement ratio and the better response to the medicine were shown to the more serious patients. The period of treatment was 27.5 days average. The enhancement ratio of smoker was 23, and that of non-smoker was 50. At the test of relation between the trouble rate in breathing and the enhancement ratio, Grade ill shows the highest enhancement value 50%. conclusions : It is found that Keumsuyukunjeon gives a noticeable benefit for the patients whose main symptom was breathing problem. Long-term treatments for the serious and aged patients will make much more efficient to the reduction of the symptoms.

감길탕(甘桔湯)이 호흡곤란에 미치는 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Study of Kamkil-tang on the Dyspnea)

  • This study was designed to investigate the clinical effect of Kamkil-tang on the dyspnea. In this study, we measured the variations of the breathing volume of 20 patients after taking Kamkil-tang. Picrometer is used for the measurement of the volume. The investigation had been performed since from January 1st to August 31th of 2005. The patients for the experiment were mainly composed of patients who had trouble in breathing due to the pneumonectasis, asthmas, pneumonias. The percent of men is 65% in sex distribution and the ratio of persons over 50's was 90%. The results are as follows: After Kamkil-tang was taken to the patients, the enhancement ratio of breathing volume was appeared as 6.6%. The analysis based on an age was that the patients of 50's show the highest volumetric advancement. The ratio of breathing volume was higher as the patients were younger. From this, Kamkil-tang has more efficient on the younger patients. From the relations between the breathing volume before treatment and the enhancement ratio, the increase of the enhancement ratio and the better response to the medicine were shown to the more serious patients. The period of treatment was 22.4 days average. The enhancement ratio of smoker was 25.5, and that of non-smoker was 31.1. At the test of relation between the trouble rate in breathing and the enhancement ratio, Grade I shows the highest enhancement. From the experimental results, It is found that Kamkil-tang gives a noticeable benefit for the patients whose main symptom was breathing problem. 비표준형 실린더 공시체에 대한 콘크리트 압축강도의 크기효과 (Size Effect of Compressive Strength of Concrete for the Non-standard Cylindrical Specimens)

  • 콘크리트 실린더 공시체의 크기에 따른 압축강도의 감소현상은 많은 관심을 받아 왔으나, 지금까지도 이에 대해 제시된 모델식이 없는 실정이다. 기존의 연구결과에 의하면 콘크리트의 강도는 부재의 크기가 증가할수록 감소하며 그 파괴거동을 규명하기 위해서는 비선형 파기역학 이론을 적용해야 함을 알 수 있다. 이전의 연구에서 표준형 콘크리트 실린더 공시체의 크기에 따른 압축강도의 변화를 파괴역학 이론에 따라 연구하고 실용적인 예측 모델식을 제시한 바 있다. 이 논문에서는 높이/직경의 비가 2/1이 아닌 비표준형 실린더 공시체를 고려하여 보다 일반적인 실린더 압축강도 에측 모델식을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 최대골재크기가 미소균열영역에 미치는 영향을 이론적으로 고찰하였으며, 특성길이의 개념을 새로이 도입하여 일반화된 크기효과에 대한 모델식을 제시하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 기존 구조물에서 채취한 다양한 크기의 콘크리트 코아 강도 등을 예측하는데도 매우 실용적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

Li/$V_6O_{13}$ 2차전지의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characteristics of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ Secondary Battery)

  • The purpose of this research is to develop the lithium secondary battery. This paper describes the preparation, electrochemical properties of nontstoichiometric(NS)-$V_6O_{13}$ and characteristics of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ secondary battery. NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was prepared by thermal decomposition of $NH_4VO_3$ under Ar stream of 140ml/min~180ml/min flow rate. And then, this NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was used for cathode active material. Cathode sheet was prepared by compressing the composite of NS-$V_6O_{13}$, acetylene black(A.B) and teflon emulsion (T.E). Characteristics of the test cell are summarised as follows. Oxidation capacity of NS-$V_6O_{13}$ was about 20% less than its reduction capacity. A part of NS-$V_6O_{13}$ cathode active material showed irreversible reaction in early charge-discharge cycle. This phenomena seems to be caused by irreversible incoporation/discoporation of lithium cation to/from NS-$V_6O_{13}$ host. Discharge characteristics curve of Li/$V_6O_{13}$ cell showed 4 potential plateaus. Charge-discharge capacity was declined in the beginning of cycling and slowly increased in company with increasing of coulombic efficiency. Energy density per weight of $V_6O_{13}$ cathode material was as high as 522Wh/kg~765Wh/kg.

고령화연구패널조사를 이용한 경도인지장애 예측모형 (Prediction Models of Mild Cognitive Impairment Using the Korea Longitudinal Study of Ageing)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare sociodemographic characteristics of a normal cognitive group and mild cognitive impairment group, and establish prediction models of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis research using data from "the 4th Korea Longitudinal Study of Ageing" of the Korea Employment Information Service. A total of 6,405 individuals, including 1,329 individuals with MCI and 5,076 individuals with normal cognitive abilities, were part of the study. Based on the panel survey items, the research used 28 variables. The methods of analysis included a χ2-test, logistic regression analysis, decision tree analysis, predicted error rate, and an ROC curve calculated using SPSS 23.0 and SAS 13.2. Results: In the MCI group, the mean age was 71.4 and 65.8% of the participants was women. There were statistically significant differences in gender, age, and education in both groups. Predictors of MCI determined by using a logistic regression analysis were gender, age, education, instrumental activity of daily living (IADL), perceived health status, participation group, cultural activities, and life satisfaction. Decision tree analysis of predictors of MCI identified education, age, life satisfaction, and IADL as predictors. Conclusion: The accuracy of logistic regression model for MCI is slightly higher than that of decision tree model. The implementation of the prediction model for MCI established in this study may be utilized to identify middle-aged and elderly people with risks of MCI. Therefore, this study may contribute to the prevention and reduction of dementia.
