The concept of an extension α-F-contraction and it's modified counterpart represents an advancement in the theory of metric space contractions. Through our study of the contraction principles and it's relationship to extension and modified extension, we found different conditions somewhat lengthy. In our paper, we create a development of the conditions for the extension of α-F-contraction and a modified α-F-contraction by reducing the conditions and make them easier. Our propose conditions are notably simple and effective. They serve as the foundation for proving theorems and solving examples that belong to our study. Moreover, they have remarkable significance in the condition of mathematical analysis and problem-solving. Thus, we find that these new conditions that we mention in the definitions achieve what is require and through them, we choose λ = 1 and we choose λ ∈ (0, 1) to clarify our ideas.
In the design of electrical equipment insulation, it is customary to place pressboard and other insulating material at right angle to the electrical discharge path, which is based on the insulation tests performed on equipment under various conditions such as types of insulation, applied voltage and other unique situations. Since electrical equipment manufacturing started only recently, there is a scarcity of available data on insulation problems, which make it difficult for the design engineers. The author untook this study to provide such analytical design data for various conditions based on the experiment conducted on the equipment being manufactured, thus reducing possible errors in the process.

A 2D-LDV system was employed to investigate the flow field characteristics in fully developed drag reducing turbulent channel flows. The additive used in this study was Habon-G which showed splendid drag reduction effect and minimum mechanical degradation trend in the closed flow circulation loop. In order to have better understanding of the drag reduction mechanism, the instantaneous velocities were carefully measured under various experimental conditions and the flow characteristics including time-averaged velocity, turbulent intensity and Reynolds shear stresses were carefully assessed. The time-averaged velocity profiles of surfactant flows showed more parabolic shape(typically shown in a laminar flow) together with significant suppression of turbulent production, yielding the shear induced micelle structure orienting in the flow direction due to its isotropic characteristics. Especially it was observed that the maximum intensity for drag reducing flows was shifted away from the wall and that the streamwise and normal turbulent intensities were strongly altered. This phenomenon strongly suggests that the viscous sublayer becomes thicker with addition of surfactant. Turbulent momentum transport was drastically suppressed across the whole drag reducing channel flow.
In this study, to increase the mixing between flue gas and reducing agent, new shapes of $NH_3$ ejection nozzles are designed and experimentally and numerically tested. The nozzles have six holes perpendicular to the ambient flue gas flow and the tilting angle between direction of ambient flow and the hole axis is varied. To evaluate the mixing efficiency of the proposed nozzles, numerical and experimental tests are applied to several flow conditions comparing with single hole nozzle, which is commonly used in conventional SCR process. From the results the nozzle with tilted multi-holes has the large region of high turbulent intensity compared with conventional single hole nozzle. This is originated from the high vorticity near the upstream of the jet flow issuing from the hole. The high turbulent intensity and vorticity magnitude lead to enhanced mixing between flue gas and reducing agent. Hence, the most suitable moral ratio between NOx and reducing agent for the catalytic reaction can be obtained on behalf of the intensified scalar mixing within shorter physical mixing length.
Aqueous solution of bis(2,4-diaminophenyl)phosphonate(APP) was very stable, especially below pH 2.0 and the red-color compound formed by the reaction of APP and $IO_3-$ was stable at room temperature. A simple and rapid spectrophotometric method for the determination of ascorbic acid, potassium antimonyl tartrate (PAT), and isonicotinic acid hydrazide (INAH) was established by the reaction of $IO_3-$ and these reducing drugs, and the absorbance measurements were made at 500 nm. In the reaction of $IO_3-$ and each of the reducing drugs, the conditions of pH were suitable below 2.5 for ascorbic acid, below 2.0 for PAT, and below 1.5 for INAH. Beer's law did hold in the range of $17.6{\sim}1549.9\;ug$ for ascorbic acid, $33.4{\sim}2871.8{\mu}g$ for PAT,and $6.9{\sim}548.6\;{\mu}g$ for INAH. Many common ingredients present in pharmaceutical dosage forms did not interfere. The average recoveries for ascorbic acid and INAH in pharmaceutical formulations were 99.8 $-100.3\;{\pm}\;0.2{\sim}0.4%$, $99.8\;{\pm}\;0.3%$, respectively.
The approximate rates and stoichiometry of the reaction of excess lithium tripiperidinoaluminum hydride (LTPDA), an alicyclic aminoaluminum hydride, with selected organic compounds containing representative functional groups under the standardized conditions (tetrahydrofuran, 25°) were examined in order to define the reducing characteristics of the reagent for selective reductions. The reducing ability of LTPDA was also compared with those of the parent lithium aluminum hydride (LAH) and lithium tris(diethylamino)aluminum hydride (LTDEA), a representative aliphatic aminoaluminum hydride. In general, the reactivity of LTPDA toward organic functionalities is weaker than LTDEA and much weaker than LAH. LTPDA shows a unique reducing characteristics. Thus, benzyl alcohol, phenol and thiols evolve a quantitative amount of hydrogen rapidly. The rate of hydrogen evolution of primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols is distinctive. LTPDA reduces aldehydes, ketones, esters, acid chlorides and epoxides readily to the corresponding alcohols. Quinones, such as p-benzoquinone and anthraquinone, are reduced to the corresponding diols without hydrogen evolution. Tertiary amides and nitriles are also reduced readily to the corresponding amines. The reagent reduces nitro compounds and azobenzene to the amine stages. Disulfides are reduced to thiols, and sulfoxides and sulfones are converted to sulfides. Additionally, the reagent appears to be a good partial reducing agent to convert primary carboxamides into the corresponding aldehydes.
In iodine-131 labelling of iodocompounds such as tetrachloro-P-tetraiodo R-fluorescein, sodium orthoiodohippurate and a non-iodocompound, human serum albumin (HSA), the labelling rates and yields are accurately compared with each other. The reaction systems conducted for each compounds were different conditions: sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I containing reducing agent, sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I free from reducing agent, and sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I free from reducing agent but containing considerable amount of iodide-$^{131}$ I etc. The labelling yields were generally poor; 10% in the case of using sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I containing redoing agent, and 50~60% in the case of using sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I free from reducing agent but containing considerable amount of iodide-$^{131}$ I. However, fair yields were obtained in the case of using sodium iodide-$^{131}$ I free from reducing agent and mostly in the form of iodide-$^{131}$ I. The reaction entities involved in these reactions are also briefly discussed.
In recently designed diesel engines, the running conditions for piston-pin bearings have become severe because of the higher combustion pressure and increased temperature. Moreover, the metal removal from the bushing material has strongly reduced the ability of the antifriction material to accept asperity contacts. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways of reducing wear scar on the connecting-rod small-end bushing and piston-pin boss bearing related to the higher combustion pressure on the power cell of an engine. In this work, the position and level of material removal from the surfaces of the bushing and bearing under such severe operating conditions - for example, maximum power and torque conditions of a passenger car diesel engine - are estimated for several combinations of surface roughness. First, piston-pin rotating motion is investigated by calculating the friction coefficient at piston-pin bearings, the oil film thickness, and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress. Subsequently, the wear scarring on the surfaces of a connecting-rod small-end bushing and two piston-pin boss bearings related to piston-pin rotational motion is numerically calculated under the maximum power and torque operating conditions. This work is helpful to determine the reasonable surface roughness of the bushing and bearing for reducing wear volume occurring at the interface between a bearing and a shaft.
A railway rail will be corroded by the repetitive sea wind and fog in the splash and tidal zone such as Youngjong grand bridge. And these rusts of rail could be increased by increasing service period, and it frequently occurred the safety accidents or disorders in electrical problem. In this study, the sacrificial anode cathodic protection method was proposed as a measures for reducing the corrosion of the railway rails in the oceanic climate conditions. As the results of immersion test using the salt water during four months, the sacrificial anode cathodic protection method using the aluminum anode(Al-anode) was evaluated that a distinct effect on corrosion reduction in the rails. Therefore the sacrificial anode cathodic protection method was experimentally proven that a disorders in aspects electric and signal of railway operation condition such as direct fixation track system in Youngjong grand bridge could be prevented by reducing rust falling from the rail. In addition, the installation conditions of the anodes directly affect the transmission range of corrosion potential, the sectional loss of anode, and the corrosion reduction effect. Therefore, to expect the corrosion reduction effect of rails under the oceanic climate conditions for railway track, it was important to adopted the appropriate spacing of anode installation by considering the actual field conditions.

Drought is a major limiting factor that reduces rice production and occurs often especially under recent climate change. Plants have the ability to alter their developmental morphology in response to changing environment, which is known as phenotypic plasticity. In our previous studies, we found that one chromosome segment substitution line (CSSL50 derived from Nipponbare and Kasalath crosses) showed no differences in shoot and root growth as compared with the recurrent genotype, Nipponbare under non-stress condition but showed greater growth responses compared with Nipponbare under mild drought stress condition. We hypothesized that reducing root respiration as metabolic cost, which may be largely a consequence of aerenchyma formation would be one of the key mechanisms for root plasticity expression. This study aimed to evaluate the root respiration and aerenchyma formation under various soil moisture conditions among genotypes with different root plasticity. CSSL50 together with Nipponbare and Kasalath were grown under waterlogged conditions (Control) and mild drought stress conditions (20% of soil moisture content) in a plastic pot ($11cm{\times}14cm$, ${\varphi}{\times}H$) and PVC tube ($3cm{\times}30cm$, ${\varphi}{\times}H$). Root respiration rate was measured with infrared gas analyzer (IRGA, GMP343, Vaisala, Finland) with a closed static chamber system. There was no significant difference between genotypes in control for shoot and root growth as well as root respiration rate. In contrast, all the genotypes increased their root respiration rates in response to mild drought stress. However, CSSL50 showed lower root respiration rate than Nipponbare, which was associated by higher root aerenchyma formation that was estimated based on internal gas space (porosity) under mild drought stress conditions. Furthermore, there were significant negative correlations between root length and root respiration rate. These results imply that reducing the metabolic cost (= root respiration rate) is a key mechanism for root plasticity expression, which CSSL50 showed under mild drought.
