  • Influence of cooling atmosphere on the whiteness in white portland cement was studied. The effective composition of gaseous medium of cooling atmosphere is desirable less than 0.5% of $O_2$ and 0.5~1.5% of CO. When theclinker is quenched in nitrogen atmosphere, the color of clinker becomes bright pink. In a weakly reducing gaseous medium or vacuum, the absence of oxygen brings defects in crystal and transformation in the coordination of iron, and as a result, whiteness is raised.

  • This paper presents two methods for reducing the position error of the robot hand. The first method change the parameters of the D-H transformation using real position error. The other one calibrates the joint angle by using the datas from the known teaching points. SCARA type robot is used for verifing the validity of the proposed methods.

The proposed algorithm use the way of maintaining the throughput by reducing supply voltage after improve the system performance in order to minimize the power consumption. In this paper, it select the low power to use pipeline in the transformation of architecture. Also, the algorithm is important the clock period selection in order to maximize the resource sharing. however, it execute the optimal clock period selection algorithm.

  • Ethanolic tetracarbonylhydridoferrate solution combined with glutaraldehyde is a very effective reducing agent for the selective transformation of two moles of secondary amines into pentane-1,5-diamine derivatives. A variety of aliphatic secondary amines react with ferrate-glutaraldehyde at room temperature under carbon monoxide to give the corresponding N-substituted pentane-1,5-diamines in reasonable yields.

  • Cisplatin is one of the most effective chemotherapeutic drugs used in the treatment of HCC, but many patients will ultimately relapse with cisplatin-resistant disease. Used in combination with cisplatin, resveratrol has synergistic effect of increasing chemosensitivity of cisplatin in various cancer cells. However, the mechanisms of resveratrol enhancing cisplatin-induced toxicity have not been well characterized. Our study showed that resveratrol enhances cisplatin toxicity in human hepatoma cells via an apoptosis-dependent mechanism. Further studies reveal that resveratrol decreases the absorption of glutamine and glutathione content by reducing the expression of glutamine transporter ASCT2. Flow cytometric analyses demonstrate that resveratrol and cisplatin combined treatment leads to a significant increase in ROS production compared to resveratrol or cisplatin treated hepatoma cells alone. Phosphorylated H2AX (${\gamma}H2AX$) foci assay demonstrate that both resveratrol and cisplatin treatment result in a significant increase of ${\gamma}H2AX$ foci in hepatoma cells, and the resveratrol and cisplatin combined treatment results in much more ${\gamma}H2AX$ foci formation than either resveratrol or cisplatin treatment alone. Furthermore, our studies show that over-expression of ASCT2 can attenuate cisplatin-induced ROS production, ${\gamma}H2AX$ foci formation and apoptosis in human hepatoma cells. Collectively, our studies suggest resveratrol may sensitize human hepatoma cells to cisplatin chemotherapy via gluta${\gamma}H2AX$mine metabolism inhibition.

  • Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is an antibiotic produced by Penicillium brevicompactum. MPA has antifungal, antineoplastic, and immunosuppressive functions, among others. ${\beta}-Hydroxy-{\beta}-methylglutaryl-CoA$ (HMG-CoA) lyase is a key enzyme in the bypass metabolic pathway. The inhibitory activity of HMG-CoA lyase increases the MPA biosynthetic flux by reducing the generation of by-products. In this study, we cloned the P. brevicompactum HMG-CoA lyase gene using the thermal asymmetric interlaced polymerase chain reaction and gene walking technology. Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation (ATMT) was used to insert a mutated HMG-CoA lyase gene into P. brevicompactum. Successful insertion of the HMG-CoA lyase gene was confirmed by hygromycin screening, PCR, Southern blot analysis, and enzyme content assay. The maximum MPA production by transformants was 2.94 g/l. This was 71% higher than wild-type ATCC 16024. Our results demonstrate that ATMT may be an alternative practical genetic tool for directional transformation of P. brevicompactum.

  • Automatic Music Transcription (AMT) is a task that detects and recognizes musical note events from a given audio recording. In this paper, we focus on reducing the latency of real-time AMT systems on piano music. Although neural AMT models have been adapted for real-time piano transcription, they suffer from high latency, which hinders their usefulness in interactive scenarios. To tackle this issue, we explore several techniques for reducing the intrinsic latency of a neural network for piano transcription, including reducing window and hop sizes of Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT), modifying convolutional layer's kernel size, and shifting the label in the time-axis to train the model to predict onset earlier. Our experiments demonstrate that combining these approaches can lower latency while maintaining high transcription accuracy. Specifically, our modified model achieved note F1 scores of 92.67 % and 90.51 % with latencies of 96 ms and 64 ms, respectively, compared to the baseline model's note F1 score of 93.43 % with a latency of 160 ms. This methodology has potential for training AMT models for various interactive scenarios, including providing real-time feedback for piano education.

  • Process Capability can be expressed with a process index which indicates the incapability of a process to meet its specifications. This index is regarded as a process capability index(PCI) or more precisely as a process incapability index(PII). It is obtained from a simple transformation of a PCI. Greenwich and Jahr-Schaffrath(1995) considered the PII $C_{pp}$ which could be obtained from the transformation to the PCI, $C_{pm}$, and they provided the asymptotic distribution for $C_{pp}$ which was useful unless the process characteristic was normally distributed. However, some statistical inferences based on the asymptotic distribution need a large sample size. There are some processes which process engineers could not help obtaining sufficiently a large sample size. Thus, we have derived its corresponding bootstrap asymptotic distribution since bootstrapping would be a helpful technique for the PII, $C_{pp}$ which was nonparametric or free from assumptions of the distribution of the characteristic X. Moreover, we have constructed six bootstrap confidence intervals used in reducing bias of estimations based on the bootstrap asymptotic distribution and simulated their performances for $C_{pp}$,

  • Reduction of welding residual stress is very important in the railway industry, but calculating its distribution in structures is difficult because welding residual stress formation is influenced by various parameters. In this study, we developed a finite element model for simulating the repair welding process to recover a surface damaged rail, and conducted a series of parametric studies while varying the cooling rate and the duration of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) to find the best conditions for reducing welding residual stress level. This paper presents a three-dimensional model of the repair welding process considering the phase transformation effect implemented by the ABAQUS user subroutine, and the results of parametric studies with various cooling rates and PWHT durations. We found that heat treatment significantly reduced the residual stress on the upper rail by about 170 MPa.

  • A low power contrast enhancement algorithm for OLED displays is proposed in this work. The proposed algorithm increases the contrast of the image based on a linear transformation function, while reducing the power consumption of OLED displays. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm extends the global contrast enhancement to local contrast enhancement using the block-based transformation function. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm reduces the power consumption, while enhancing the contrast of an input image.
