Purpose: This study was done to develop and test a scale to measure the homeboundness for low-income aged who live in the community. Methods: This was nursing methodology research. Homeboundness Scale development process was composed of construct identification based on concept analysis using the Hybrid model, 35 initial items. This number was reduced to 31 items through face validity tests by 7 experts. The preliminary Homeboundness Scale for low-income aged was administered to 240 aged who registered and received visiting health care service in the community health center located in S city. Data were analyzed using item analysis, factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients, and Cronbach's alpha. Results: Twenty-two items were selected for the final scale. Three factors evolved from the factor analysis, which explained 66.0% of the total variance. The internal consistency, Cronbach's alpha, was .945 and reliability of the subscales ranged from .890 to .934. Conclusion: Homeboundness Scale demonstrated acceptable validity and reliability. It can be used to assess the Homeboundness of the low-income aged in practice and research.

The basic research on AKM(Apogee Kick Motor) for space launch vehicle was carried out. AKM which will be used as 3rd stage solid rocket motor in 3-stage Korean Sounding Rocket(III) has been developing. KM is a solid rocket motor using composite propellant based on HTPB and is composed of composite motor case and submerged nozzle. To develop KM rocket motor satisfing a given set of requirement, firstly the full-scale KM with diameter 520mm was designed, then sub-scale motors reduced about 60% were manufactured and tested. Full-scale ground firing test is accomplished two times.
Purpose: This study was to identify the impact of spiritual wellbeing and social support on the depression among middle-aged women. Descriptive study design was used. Methods: The subjects completed the structured questionnaires: the 'Spiritual Well-being Scale', developed by Paloutzian & Ellison, 'the Social Support Scale' developed by Park, and 'the CES-D Scale' developed by Radloff. Data were collected from 216 middle aged women in B metropolitan city and J city. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regressions. Results: Participants with higher depression had lower scores for spiritual wellbeing (r=-.57, p<.001) and lower scores for social support (r=-.49, p=.011). The influencing factors on depression were spiritual wellbeing, social support, and utilization of spare time. These variables were explained 46% of the variance in depression. Conclusion: The depression of the middle-aged women can be reduced when spiritual wellbeing and social support are improved. Therefore, we suggested to develop nursing intervention programs in order to improve spiritual wellbeing and social support of middle-aged women for reducing their depressions.
Purpose: This was a correlation study to identify the relationship of spiritual well-being, hope on fatigue in cancer patients on chemotherapy. Methods: The subjects completed structured questionnaires: the 'Spiritual Well-being Scale', developed by Paloutzian & Ellison, 'Hope Scale', developed by Kim & Lee and 'Fatigue Scale', developed by Mendoza et al. Data were collected from 120 patientsat two general hospitals and were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA & Sheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple stepwise regression. Results: Participants with higher fatigue had lower scores for hope (r=-.36, p<.001) and lower scores for spiritual well-being (r=-.23, p=.011). Participants with higher scores for hope had higher scores for spiritual well-being (r=.61, p<.001). The factors seen as contributing to fatigue were hope, financial burden of treatment, period of religious life, living with spouse, and reported pain. These variables explained 32.3% of the variance in fatigue. Hope with 13% was the most influential. Conclusion: The fatigue of the cancer patients on chemotherapy can be reduced if hope is improved, and hope can be improved if the spiritual well-being is improved. Therefore, we suggest developing a nursing intervention program that leads to improve hope and spiritual well-being of the cancer patients on chemotherapy for reducing fatigue.

When the hydrodynamic coefficients of the ship maneuvering equation are estimated by captive model test, it is difficult to take account of the scale effect between model and full scale ship. This scale effect problem can be overcome by processing the sea trial data with system identification. Extended Kalman filter is used as a system identification technique for the modification of the simulation equation as well as the estimation of hydrodynamic coefficients The phenomena of simultaneous drifting of linear coefficients occur. It is confirmed that two coefficients in each pair-$(Y_v',\;Y_r'-m'u'),\;(N_v',\;N_r')$-are simultaneously drifting and all 4 coefficients are drifting together. Particularly simultaneous drifting and 2 coefficients in each pair is more significant. It is also shown that the simultaneous drifting of 4 coefficients can be reduced by choosing the input data which have the random v'/r' curve and 4 coefficients are estimated within $2{\sim}4%$ error, which may be noise level. So, it is recommended to operate the rudder randomly in sea trial or model test for the application of system identification technique.

This paper introduce the real time digital simulator which is located in Korea Electric Power Research Institute. This paper also describes the methodology for the performance test of the PSS using KEPS. This test is to get a high degree of the confidence of the developed PSS before it is installed into the real power system. This has been performed in the form of closed-loop tests in which Simulator and PSS are connected and signals come and back interactively. Many tests have successfully done using KEPS which consists of 26 RTDS racks, under the large-scale power system. The simulated reduced KEPCO power system contains 88 generators and 295 buses. Through the AVR step, three phase fault and active power variation test, the effectiveness of developed PSS has been proved. This paper also presents the overview of KEPS and hardware of protype PSS.

This paper discusses the results of launch environment tests for the engineering qualification model (EQM) of nanosatellite Scale magNetospheric and Ionospheric Plasma Experiment (SNIPE) for scientific missions and lessons learned for the design of nanosatellites. SNIPE is a group of four formation-flying 6U nanosatellites with a range of payloads for missions including space weather measurement. We developed the EQM to verify the preliminary design prior to fabricating the flight model. Launch environment test of EQM was conducted for the first time in 2019, and all failures were corrected and verified at the second test conducted in 2021. A notable point of the two tests is that the nanosatellite deployer used in the first test is different from that of the second test. The second deployer has the capability to fix the internal satellite whereas the first deployer just contains and deploys the satellite. Thus actual mechanical loads the satellite receives is reduced for the second test compared to the first test. This work compares the mechanical responses of two tests and proposes general guidelines for structural design of nanosatellites.
This paper presents the results of a reduced-scale physical model investigation into the effect of drilling fluid with different mix designs for bore hole collapse prevention. The bore hole collapse prevention mechanism for the bentonite based drilling fluid was first discussed together with the effect of conditioning with different additives on engineering characteristics of bentonite based drilling fluid. Reduced-scale model tests were then carried out considering field procedures for cases with a decomposed granitic soil with 20% fines and a sand with various drilling fluids with different mix designs. The results indicated that the addition of polymer to the bentonite based drilling fluid decreases the amount of drilling fluid injected, the drilling fluid infiltration thickness and increases the final depth of excavation. Also revealed is that the effect of polymer on the performance of drilling fluid is more pronounced in the decomposed granite soil with 20% fines than the sand. Practical implications of the findings from this study are discussed in great detail.
This paper presents the results of a reduced-scale physical model investigation into the effect of drilling fluid with different mix designs for use in offshore bore hole collapse prevention. This paper presents the results of an investigation into the pull-out characteristics of screw anchor piles for use in braced excavation and cut-slope. A series of reduced-scale model tests were performed on model screw anchor piles with different geometric characteristics such as screw size and pitch length. The results indicated that the pullout resistance increases with decreasing the pitch length for a given screw size. It was also observed that the pullout capacity of a screw anchor pile increases with the screw size up to a certain size beyond which the increase becomes minimal. The results are presented in such a way that the pullout characteristics of screw piles with different screw geometric characteristics can be identified. Practical implications of the findings are discussed.
