Accurate State of Charge Estimation of LiFePO4 Battery Based on the Unscented Kalman Filter and the Particle Filter (언센티드 칼만 필터와 파티클 필터에 기반한 리튬 인산철 배터리의 정확한 충전 상태 추정)

  • An accurate State Of Charge (SOC) estimation of battery is the most important technique for Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Energy Storage Systems (ESSs). In this paper a new integrated Unscented Kalman Filter-Particle Filter (UKF-PF) is employed to estimate the SOC of a $LiFePO_4$ battery cell and a significant improvement is obtained as compared to the other methods. The parameters of the battery is modeled by the second order Auto Regressive eXogenous (ARX) model and estimated by using Recursive Least Square (RLS) method to calculate value of each element in the model. The proposed algorithm is established by combining a parameter identification technique using RLS method with ARX model and an SOC estimation technique using UKF-PF.

  • We present the implementation of the adaptive filter for EMG signal processing using VHDL. For making ASIC, the basic FPU(floating point processor), e.g., adder, multiplier and divider, are implemented with VHDL. The FPU is simulated and the controller for the RLSL(recursive least square lattice) algorithm of the adaptive filter is implemented. Then FPU and the controller are linked and simulated. Finally the models are synthesized and the gate level is implemented.

  • In this paper, a novel design method of variable motor inetia in Induction motor drive system is proposed. The inertia of a load and a motor are estimated by using RLS (Recursive Least Square) algorithm. The speed controller is designed by Kharitonove theory of motor. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified with simulation and experiments results.

  • This paper presents a control design for networked control systems (NCS) with uncertain time delay using model matching. The dynamics of the time delay are approximated through the Pade linearization and the uncertain delay term is recursively estimated by the recursive least square (LS) algorithm. Computer simulation illustrates that the proposed control compares favorably with a recently published control approach.

  • DS/CDMA 시스템은 이동통신 시스템에서 다중경로, 고의적인 반방해 전파 및 동일대역폭을 공유하기 위한 다중 사용자에 의해 발생되는 협대역 간섭과 부가적인 백색가우시안 잡음을 제거한다. 본 논문에서는 다계층 퍼셉트론을 기반으로 한 역전파 신경망을 이용한 정합필터 채널 모델이 DS/CDMA 이동 통신 시스템에서 직접 순차 확산 스펙트럼의 협대역 간섭을 고려하면서 신호 대 잡음비와 전송 전력비에 따른 컴퓨터시뮬레이션 결과는 역전파 신경망을 이용한 정합 필터의 비트 에러율이 직접 순차 확산 스펙트럼의 RAKE 수신기의 비트 에러 율보다 적음을 입증하였다.

  • This paper proposes a novel fault diagnosis scheme using parameter estimation of the stator resistance, especially in the case of the open-phase faults of PMSM drives. The stator resistance of PMSMs can be estimated by the recursive least square (RLS) algorithm in real time. Fault diagnosis is achieved by analyzing the estimated stator resistance of each phase according to the fault condition. The proposed fault diagnosis scheme is implemented without any extra devices. Moreover, the estimated parameter information can be used to improve the control performance. The feasibility of the proposed fault diagnosis scheme is verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper presents the sensor location and step estimation algorithm for personal navigation system (PNS). PNS has the disadvantage in that the position of the sensor must be fixed on a human body. Three-axis acceleration sensor is used to solve the disadvantage and to consider the real situation. We simplify the measurement data by using the band pass filter, witch It has the advantage in the detection of characteristic point. Through the detected characteristic points, it is possible to setup the parameter for the pattern detection. Depending on the sensor location, the parameters have the different type of noise covariance. Particularly, when the position of the sensor is changed, the impulse noise shows up. Considering the noise, we apply the recursive least square algorithm using the variable forgetting factors, which can classify the sensor location based on the estimated parameters. We performed the experiment for the verification of the proposed algorithm in the various environments. Through the experimental results, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.

  • In this paper, we propose the design methodology of target tracking system using the identification of TS fuzzy model based on genetic algorithm(GA) and RLS algorithm. In general, the objective of target tracking is to estimate the future trajectory of the target based on the past position of the target obtained from the sensor. In the conventional and mathematical nonlinear filtering method such as extended Kalman filter(EKF), the performance of the system may be deteriorated in highly nonlinear situation. In this paper, to resolve these problems of nonlinear filtering technique, the error of EKF by nonlinearity is compensated by identifying TS fuzzy model. In the proposed method, after composing training datum from the parameters of EKF, by identifying the premise and consequent parameters and the rule numbers of TS fuzzy model using GA, and by tuning finely the consequent parameters of TS fuzzy model using recursive least square(RLS) algorithm, the error of EKF is compensated. Finally, the proposed method is applied to three dimensional tracking problem, and the simulation results shows that the tracking performance is improved by the proposed method.

  • In the present paper some fundamentals about exceeding the guard interval of an OFDM system is going to discuss and will introduce method to cancel a ISI and ICI effects. In this paper, the performance characteristics of robust OFDM receiving system algorithm that is composed of a channel estimator using recursive least square(RLS) algorithm in time domain and of a ISI and ICI replica and subtracter using the channel coefficients are presented. By computer simulation method, the effect of suppression of ISI and ICI is demonstrated and compared the BER performance with a conventional 1-tap equalized system. Especially the presented scheme improves the BER performance at low SNRs more or so compared with the conventional one-tap equalized receiving configuration.

  • This paper presents the method for the automatic tuning of a design weighting polynomial parameters of a generalized minimum-variance stochastic ultivariable self-tuning controller which adapts to changes in the higher order nonminimum phase system parameters with time delays and noises. The self-tuning effect is achieved through the recursive least square algorithm at the parameter estimation stage and also through the Robbins-Monro algorithm at the stage of optimizing the design weighting polynomial parameters of the controller. The proposed multivariable self-tuning method is simple and effective compared with pole restriction method. The computer simulation results are presented to adapt the higher order multivariable system with nonminimum phase and with changeable system parameters.
