  • In this paper, a new linearization algorithm for DPD(Digital PreDistorter) is suggested. This new algorithm uses DFP(Davidon-Fletcher-Powell) method. This algorithm is more accurate than that of the existing algorithms, and this method renew the best-fit value in every routine with out setting the initial value of step-size. In modeling power amplifier, the memory polynomial model which can model the memory effect of the power amplifier is used. And the overall structure of linearizer is based on an indirect learning architecture. In order to verify for performance of proposed algorithm, we compared with LMS(Least Mean-Squares), RLS(Recursive Least squares) algorithm.

  • In this study, We derived Recursive Least Squares(RLS) algorithm with adaptive maximum -likelihood channel estimate for digital pulse amplitude modulated sequence in the presence of intersymbol interference and additive white Gaussian noise. RLS algorithms have better convergence characteristics than conventional algorithms, LMS Least Mean Squares) algorithms.

  • This paper proposes a new l1-norm-Recursive Least Squares (RLS) algorithm which is numerically more robust than the conventional l1-norm-RLS. The l1-norm-RLS was proposed by Eksioglu and Tanc in order to estimate the sparse acoustic channel. However the algorithm has numerical instability in the inverse matrix calculation. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm which is robust against the numerical instability. We show that the proposed method improves stability under several numerically erroneous situations.

On the Complex-Valued Recursive Least Squares Escalator Algorithm with Reduced Computational Complexity

  • In this paper, a complex-valued recursive least squares escalator filter algorithm with reduced computational complexity for complex-valued signal processing applications is presented. The local tap weight of RLS-ESC algorithm is updated by incrementing its old value by an amount equal to the local estimation error times the local gain scalar, and for the gain scalar, the local input autocorrelation is calculated at the previous time. By deriving a new gain scalar that can be calculated by using the current local input autocorrelation, reduced computational complexity is accomplished. Compared with the computational complexity of the complex-valued version of RLS-ESC algorithm, the computational complexity of the proposed method can be reduced by 50% without performance degradation. The reduced computational complexity of the proposed algorithm is even less than that of the LMS-ESC. Simulation results for complex channel equalization in 64QAM modulation schemes demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has superior convergence and constellation performance.

  • This paper presents the algorithm of an adaptive model-free-control-based steering control for multi-axle all-terrain cranes for which the recursive least squares with forgetting are applied. To optimally control the actual system in the real world, the linear or nonlinear mathematical model of the system should be given for the determination of the optimal control inputs; however, it is difficult to derive the mathematical model due to the actual system's complexity and nonlinearity. To address this problem, the proposed adaptive model-free controller is used to control the steering angle of a multi-axle crane. The proposed model-free control algorithm uses only the input and output signals of the system to determine the optimal inputs. The recursive least-squares algorithm identifies first-order systems. The uncertainty between the identified system and the actual system was estimated based on the disturbance observer. The proposed control algorithm was used for the steering control of a multi-axle crane, where only the steering input and the desired yaw rate were employed, to track the reference path. The controller and performance evaluations were constructed and conducted in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The evaluation results show that the proposed adaptive model-free-control-based steering-control algorithm produces a sound path-tracking performance.

  • We develop two methods to select a constant in the RLS (Recursive Least Squares) with the convex regularization. The RLS with the convex regularization was proposed by Eksioglu and Tanc in order to estimate the sparse acoustic channel. However the algorithm uses the regularization constant which needs the information about the true channel response for the best performance. In this paper, we propose two methods to select the regularization constant which don't need the information about the true channel response. We show that the estimation performance using the proposed methods is comparable with the Eksioglu and Tanc's algorithm.

  • Abstract-Using the recursive generalized eigendecomposition method, we develop a recursive form solution to the data least squares (DLS) problem, in which the error is assumed to lie in the data matrix only. Simulations demonstrate that DLS outperforms ordinary least square for certain types of deconvolution problems.

  • In this paper the new neural network and sliding mode suspension controller is proposed. That neural network is error self-recurrent neural network. For fast on-line learning, this paper use recursive least squares method. A new neural networks converges considerably faster than the backpropagation algorithm and has advantages of being less affected by the poor initial weights and learning rate. The controller for suspension systems is designed according to sliding mode technique based on new proposed neural network.

  • This study presents an algorithm and related techniques which could satisfy the important properties of check weighers and conveyor scales. The algorithm of Recursive Least Squares Regression is described for te weighing system simulated as a dynamic model of the second order. Using the model and the algorithm, model parameters and then the mass being weighed can be determined from the step input. The performance of the algorithm is illustrated in digital simulation. Discussions are extended to the development of fast converging algorithm. It turns out that the algorithm shows several desirable features suitable for microcomputer assisted real-time signal processing, which are high precision and stability in noisy environment.

  • This study presents and algorithm and related techniques which could satisfy the important properties of check weighers and conveyor scales. The algorithm of Recursive Least Squares Regression is applied for the weighing system simulated as a dynamic model of the second order. Using the model and the algorithm, model parameters and then the mass being weighed can be determined from the step input. The performance of the algorithm was tested on a check weigher. Discussions were extended to the development of noise reduction techniques and to the lagged introduction of objects on the moving plate. It turns out that the algorithm shows several desirable features suitable for real-time signal processing with a microcomputer, which are high precision and stability in noisy environment.
