  • Storm and flood damage management systems in national disaster management system(NDMS) were organized into three operation systems. They are prevention, preparation, response, and recovery systems. Disaster resources in each system must be promptly and exactly applied to minimize casualties and loss of properties. However, the disaster resources in current management system can not be immediately used in calamity situation due to the lack of efficiency in statistical data. Therefore, it is necessary to classify the emergency restoration equipment for efficient management and mobilization of disaster resources in disaster situation. In this study, field survey was executed to appropriately classify the emergency restoration equipment. Problems and reformation points of the disaster resources system were also presented to improve the classification technique and to construct the data base.

  • Due to the increase in population and consequently the increase in the production of plastic waste, recovery of this part of the waste is an undeniable necessity. On the other hand, the recycling of plastic waste, if it is placed in a systematic process and controlled, can be effective in creating jobs and maintaining environmental health. Waste collection in many large cities has become a major problem due to lack of proper planning with increasing waste from population accumulation and changing consumption patterns. Today, waste management is no longer limited to waste collection, but waste collection is one of the important areas of its management, i.e. training, segregation, collection, recycling and processing. In this study, a systematic method based on machine vision for sorting plastic bottles in different colors for recycling purposes will be proposed. In this method, image classification and segmentation techniques were presented to improve the performance of plastic bottle classification. Evaluation of the proposed method and comparison with previous works showed the proper performance of this method.

  • Purpose: Cerebellar injury can be caused by a variety of factors, including trauma, stroke, and tumor. Cerebellar injury can manifest in different clinical symptoms and signs depending on the size and location of the injury. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare the recovery patterns of each motor function by tracking the motor levels of patients with cerebellar injury. Methods: This study recruited 11 patients with quadriplegia resulting from cerebellar injury. The motricity index (MI), modified Brunnstrom classification (MBC), and functional ambulation category (FAC) methods were used to evaluate motor levels. The motor function evaluation was performed immediately after the onset of the condition and at intervals of one month, two months, and six months after onset. Results: The MI values of the upper and lower extremities and hand function (MBC) indicated severe paralysis in the early stages of onset. Compared to the onset time, significant motor function recovery was observed after 1, 2, and 6 months (p < 0.05). In contrast, there was no significant pattern of recovery between 1, 2, and 6 months after onset (p > 0.05). FAC indicated showed significant recovery at one month compared to onset (p<0.05), and there was also a significant difference between 1 and 2 months (p < 0.05). On the other hand, there was no significant difference in FAC between 2 and 6 months (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Patients with cerebellar injury showed significant recovery in functions related to muscle strength and voluntary muscle control one month after onset and gradually recovered further over the next six months. On the other hand, gait function, which is closely related to balance, showed a relatively slow recovery pattern from the beginning of the disease to the six month follow-up.

  • The separation performance of zigzag air classifier with angle of 90 degrees was studied using narrow size fractions of thin square samples and granular samples. The simulation results of air velocity inside the classifier indicated that the zigzag geometry induces a new pattern consisting of an upward flow and a circulation flow, Experimental results showed that overflow product recovery was described as an integral calculus of normal distribution as a function of dimensionless air velocity ( $V_{A}$ $V_{A50}$), where $V_{A}$ is superficial air velocity and $V_{A50}$ is the $V_{A}$ at the fifty percent recovery. The $V_{A}$ values were predicted using the equations derived from dynamics for a particle dropping in air. A monitoring system that utilizes changes in acoustic signals emitted during the process of air classification was developed to separate PET with desired recovery or grade. The technical feasibility of the on-line monitoring of the PET recovery and grade was demonstrated by measuring relative energy of the signals.signals.als.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to present fundamental information regarding clinical prognosis and clinical criteria for therapeutic intervention in stroke patients with focal pons infarction. Methods: Four stroke patients (male: 2, female: 2) who were diagnosed with pons infarction were recruited. All subjects had motor functions evaluated using methods such as the Motricity Index (MI), the Modified Brunnstrom Classification (MBC), Functional Ambulatory Category (FAC), and the Bathel Index (BI). Evaluations were done at least 4 times over a period that was approximately 8~11 months from stroke onset. We compared the final evaluation with the first evaluation. Results: All patients with focal pons infarction showed improvement with time in motor function. The physical strength of all patients was improved to normal or good grades from zero or trace grades in the Motricity Index test. Also, other motor functions such as ambulatory capacity and activities of daily living (ADL) improved with time. Conclusion: Aspects of functional recovery and clinical prognosis are clearly predictable for specific patients with focal pons infarction. In addition, adequate therapeutic interventions can be provided clinical criterion to patients, according to aspect of functional recovery. Accordingly, patients with pons infarction change for the better over time.

  • Purpose: Our goal was to determine the difference in motor recovery between two stroke types: the corona radiata (CR) infarct type and the intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) type, by using assessment methods for motor functions. Methods: Forty subjects who were diagnosed as having had a stroke with an infarct (men: 11, women: 9, mean age: $62.25{\pm}7.59$) or a stroke with an ICH (men: 12, women: 8, mean age: $59.75{\pm}6.11$) were recruited. In all subjects, motor functions of the affected extremities were measured 2 times: at stroke onset (initial) and 6 months after the onset (final) by the motricity index (MI), the modified Brunnstrom classification (MBC), and functional ambulatory category (FAC). We compared the final assessment with the initial one. Results: Motor functions of all patients improved with the passing of time. All scores of motor function assessment in the ICH type were higher than in the infarct type. Comparing the initial assessment with the final one, upper MI and MBC scores of the upper extremities were significantly different between the two stroke types (p<0.05), but lower MI and FAC scores of the lower extremities were not (p>0.05). Conclusion: These findings imply that patterns of motor recovery in patients with either the infarct type or the ICH type of stroke change for the better over time. The degree of motor recovery in the ICH type was better than in the infarct type. Therefore, one can introduce clinical interventions by the aspect of progress in functional motor recovery.

  • In this paper, we dealt with substantial asset analysis methodology applied to two-dimensional asset classification and qualitative evaluation method according to the business process. Most of the existent risk analysis methodology and tools presented classification by asset type and physical evaluation by a quantitative method. We focused our research on qualitative evaluation with 2-dimensional asset classification. It converts from quantitative asset value with purchase cost, recovery and exchange cost, etc. to qualitative evaluation considering specific factors related to the business process. In the first phase, we classified the IT assets into tangible and intangible assets, including human and information data asset, and evaluated their value. Then, we converted the quantitative asset value to the qualitative asset value using a conversion standard table. In the second phase, we reclassified the assets using 2-dimensional classification factors reflecting the business process, and applied weight to the first evaluation results. This method is to consider the organization characteristics, IT asset structure scheme and business process. Therefore, we can evaluate the concrete and substantial asset value corresponding to the organization business process, even if they are the same asset type.

  • This paper presents an approach to the classifications of small size document using the instance-based feature filtering Relief-F algorithm. In the document classifications, we have not always good classification performances of small size document included a few features. Because total number of feature in the document set is large, but feature count of each document is very small relatively, so the similarities between documents are very low when we use general assessment of similarity and classifiers. Specially, in the cases of the classification of web document in the directory service and the classification of the sectors that cannot connect with the original file after recovery hard-disk, we have not good classification performances. Thus, we propose the Extended Relief-F(ERelief-F) algorithm using instance-based feature filtering algorithm Relief-F to solve problems of Relief-F as preprocess of classification. For the performance comparison, we tested information gain, odds ratio and Relief-F for feature filtering and getting those feature values, and used kNN and SVM classifiers. In the experimental results, the Extended Relief-F(ERelief-F) algorithm, compared with the others, performed best for all of the datasets and reduced many irrelevant features from document sets.

  • This research is to raise awareness of food safety by designing and supporting a hazard food information notification platform for consumers. To this end, the design was carried out by dividing the process into a data extraction process, an application screen design process, and a CNN-based food inference process. Data was collected through public data APIs and crawling, and it was sent to each activity screen designed for Android studios so that it could be output. As a result, when the platform is executed, information on hazardous food names, registration dates, food classification, manufacturing dates, recovery grades, recovery reasons, recovery methods, company names, barcode numbers, and packaging units can be intuitively and conveniently checked. In addition, CNN-based food inference processes allowed mobile cameras to infer harmful food and applied various quantization techniques such as Dynamic Range, Integer, and Float16 to compare the degree of improvement in inference performance. As a result, the group that applied basic quantization and treated device resources with GPU showed the greatest improvement in inference performance. Through this platform, it is expected that the reliability of food safety will be improved by making it more convenient for consumers to recognize food risks.

  • The shape of an object plays a very important role in pattern analysis and classification. Roughly, the researches on this topic can be classified into three fields, i.e. (i) edge detection, (ii) dominant points extraction, and (iii) shape recognition and classification. Many works have been done in these three fields. However, it is very seldom to see the research that discusses the connection relationship of objects. This problem is very important in robot assembly systems. Therefore, here we focus on this problem and discuss how to recover the connection relationship of planar objects. Our method is based on the partial curve identification algorithm. The experiment results show the efficiency and validity of this method.
